I have a newfound appreciation for classic quilt patterns like this. It’s fun to see the variations. I am making one now as a wedding gift. Many of the fabrics were chosen to represent the country in which the couple was married and then the country they honeymoon in.I have 80 hours into this king size quilt so far and I’m not half done. These quilts give new meaning to the phrase labor of love.

I actually disagree in regard to the comment about you being “critical”…I enjoyed your way of sharing various aspects of each of the quilts. Your personal opinions were expressed in what I considered very respectful. You complimented something about almost every quilt. I too prefer the scrappy styles. I really enjoyed your presentation 😊

you seemed to be critical of double wedding ring quilts whose 4 connecting blocks were not perfectly square. Any patterns or templates i've seen for that quilt do NOT have perfect squares, but are slightly "out of square" to fit better with the cured portions of the block.

The point of the original was to be the interconnecting rings which are circles and should not include a square at all. But I have only made seven double wedding ring quilts and they all do stand apart within the basic pattern.
