Lakers @ Jazz, November 3, 2004 | The new-look Lakers pay a visit to Utah for their second game of the season after beating the Nuggets in their home opener. The Lakers were clearly not ready to play in this game, as evidenced by a 28 point first half. After scoring just 11 points and shooting 1-7 from the floor in the first half, Kobe looked to be more aggressive in the second half and dropped 27 points (17 in the 3rd) on 14 shots. Despite 38 points and 20 free throw attempts by Kobe, the Lakers were handled easily by the Jazz 78-104, dropping to 1-1 on the season.

Man those where the wasted years of his career 2004-2007 was really in his prime but didn't have anyone to play with except Odom
TOE745 Imagine if the Lakers had traded for Gasol in 2005. Kobe would be contending every year in the playoffs, man, instead of having 1st round exits.
TOE745 If he have the big three
peterdabest94 Man you right. In 2006 he gave the Suns a very good run with Shitty kwame at center lol.. Honestly if he had gasol instead of kwame that coulda been a title for the lakers. Who would they have to face in the west? The mavs who kobe averaged like 40 on when they met and scored 62 in 3 quarters?? Yea they would get destroyed..
TOE745 if shaq stayed, boom thats like 4 more rings honestly
They had Caron Butler in 2005 who became a 2x allstar but they gambled and traded him for kwame cause they needed a center.
RIP Kobe and Gigi... my heart hurts..
Kabir Bariana 💜💛💔 Me too 🖤🤍
The elevation in his jumper was so good. I miss this Kobe, too bad he had a really bad team during those years (05-07).
AA AM He scored over 7,000 points during the 04-07 stretch. Crazy.
That baseline dunk was crazy!!
4:00 🔥🔥
My favorite Kobe game of all time, I remember so clearly.. my freshman year of hs and this was the second game ever of Kobe proving himself without Shaq. RIP KOBE died this morning. Smh
💜💛🐍♾️🐐💪🏾💯🙌🏾💐🌸🪷🌷🌺🥀🌹🙏🏾
Nobody could stop Kobe at that time. He was just force 1 vs 1.
If the Lakers had better roster, then he could have MVP's and who knows - more RINGS !
This was probably his worst season in his prime to be honest. However, much of that is due to all of the court sessions he would have to sit through due to the rape allegation.
EDIT: My mistake, season before this one (last season with Shaq).
7 rings if the makers didnt wast his 3 years and if he wasn't injured in 2008 playing on a broken finger
The first game I realized this team wasn't going to make any moves as far as the playoffs were concerned.
Lmao this was literally 2004-05’s “Premiere Week”
Much appreciated! Been waiting for more vintage from Black Mamba.
Been looking for this game for the longest.....thank you soooo much!!!!!
that's some great teammates kobe had lol
Armando Kozomara and bronsexuals say Kobe never had a bad team as the Cavs right now 😂😂 delusional morons
This was the 1st laker championship drought of Kobe's career. Now we're in the 2nd smh this one's gonna be even longer
