34046 Braunton powers to the Bath Christmas Market TWICE in Four Chilly Days!

With Christmas underway, so are the Christmas steam excursions up and down the country. With the Bath Christmas Market returning to action, so are the ever popular steam tours to Bath. The first steam engine to visit the Bath Christmas Market is 34046 Braunton hauling two railtours from London hauled by Steam Dreams owned by Jeremy Hosking, ironically, the owner of 34046 Braunton. The weather for the two runs was pretty dull, but absolutely freezing which meant I had to keep nice and warm whilst seeing a Bulleid powering by.
The first tour was on Tuesday, and we see Braunton powering through Grateley on her way to Bath via Salisbury. I arrived in good time and amazingly I was the only one at the roadbridge which meant I had a nice wide angle of her powering towards the cathedral city of Salisbury for water. Afterwards was a short drive to Bapton to capture Braunton at full speed heading towards Westbury and the destination of Bath. There were more people this time and she was bang on time sounding marvellous and with the smoke lingering in the air, it was an absolute treat. The second tour took place on Friday, but this time Braunton would head to Bath via the Berks and Hants Line via Newbury. I came across a location at Marshg Bneham just west of Newbury. It was a new location for me and it turned out to be a pretty good one. The engine was 5 minutes late but she sounded brilliant as ever as she left Newbury behind. Even though there was a bit of a shove from the diesel on the back, it wasn't a full power push which wasn't so bad.
