I wasn't fully paying attention to part of the stream at the time, but I had the Grayman's stream on in the background as I played through Pseudoregalia. Safe to say the "Woo! Yeah!" break beat greatly helped with my playthrough.
I rarely ever see people play around with using the game window as part of the game, which is a shame because it's such a cool thing to see. I know OneShot utilizes it for a puzzle, and Rhythm Doctor pulls it out as part of some of its bosses' gimmicks, but this is the first game I see where it's a central mechanic. It's some cool shit.
one of the issues is that it takes a lot of processing power to run multiple windows like this, it's probably why the graphics are so simple in windowkill
@@FrederykStrife Oh yeah I imagined as much. I'm no coder, but I'm guessing each window is probably its own environment that's constantly updating and checking if it was moved. That's definitely going to be intense.
Considering that you can style your windows, break out of them and make changes to the desktop I‘m gonna guess that these are not actually Windows‘s windows, but rather virtual windows drawn entirely by the game and made to look like Windows‘s windows. As in: there‘s just one undecorated transparent window in which everything is drawn
@@MrGrayNk having played the game myself, i can confirm you’re half-right: by default, every single window in the game is actually its own real Windows window. they all show up as their own little icon on the taskbar and everything, and steam notifications pop up on every single individual one. it can get really messy. however, if this causes performance issues, there is an option in the game for you to do exactly what your comment suggested and turn them all into fake windows that exist within one mega-window and only mimic real ones. hope that makes sense :)
@@k1znaivers huh, cool! I just googled it and found a Godot tutorial on GitHub which shows how to do pretty much the exact same thing. For some reason I thought Godot didn't even allow to spawn multiple windows, but I stand corrected
