    Really fun projects. They all turned out really well. The pyramids and the clear bowl are my favorites. ❤

    These are great! I made a paper weight at school when I was 11. We used spray can lids as a cylinder shaped mold and could bring something from home to put in it. The boys put bugs and army men and things in there's. The girls put mostly flowers or leaves but I had a sea shell I liked, that I put that in mine. From memory I had to do something a bit different with mine because the shell was heavier than the leaves and flowers and we didn't want it to sink to the bottom. I can't really remember and I don't know what happened to it. Mum probably decluttered it along with old toys and things over the years, so I can't look at it to see if it was done in layers. I'd quite like to have another go as this though.

      That's so cool; I never got to make anything like that at school, though I seem to remember making a candle in a tin can, lol. I'm getting into the resin now; it's fun but super messy! 😂

      @@BeckyTregear It was in my intermediate school woodworking class in '81. We did woodwork, metalwork, a bit of leather work and this. I think it's changed over the years. Neither of my kids got leather or resin but my younger one did a little bit of electronics and also worked with colored acrylic plastic.

    I was looking at the Let's Resin UV kits on Amazon. I didn't find the right kit for me. I don't need the beginners kits, as I have a pretty extensive resin stash, but do want the resin and the UV light. I actually don't think resin really expires. I haven't had issues with using mine over a few years. It has been fine. I don't even know if mine has a date on it. I have the giant 5l bottle.
    I always do use gloves but occasional near the end I can touch a stirrer with my hands just to take a short cut. I remember getting some on my hands and it burnt my skin. It looks innocent until that happens. I did actually clean my hands immediately after, but once it's on your skin it's already too late and the damage is done.

    • @lozantoninocreations
      @lozantoninocreations 5 місяців тому +1

      The one that wasn't mixed properly won't ever set. I had placemats and I didn't mic them correctly and they were sticky. I resined over to seal in the issue but they just leaked. I had to throw them out. It was a $100 mistake once you factor the resin and placemats cost 🤣 they looked beautiful and 4 if the 6 are ok, but it was too risky having the chemicals leaking forever. It never set.

    • @BeckyTregear
      @BeckyTregear  5 місяців тому

      @@lozantoninocreations Yes, some of my duds still haven't set and I don't think they ever will. I'll have to chuck them out, doh! 😭. I think UV resin lasts a lot longer than Epoxy, regarding shelf life. I'm sure it's more of a Best Before date but I've heard others say that it expires eventually too. I don't know enough to say for sure, lol.

    Nice unpacking 😊
    My 1 main criticism of the kit and not you is that a face mask was not included - the kit is aimed at beginners who may not realise resin when curing is very, very dangerous , lung damage etc.
    Nice collection of moulds and nice that crystal moulds were included.

    • @BeckyTregear
      @BeckyTregear  5 місяців тому +1

      That's a very good point, they should definitely include a mask. I wanted to be sure to show I was wearing one because it's such a crucial piece of gear.

    • @ArtistRebeccaLS
      @ArtistRebeccaLS 5 місяців тому

      Exactly- yes, you did great showing your face covered, gloves, and advising the actual respirator, at least they included gloves.
      Resin is tricky, I don’t use it 😁 but it’s fun watching you playing with it - I don’t think you can really go wrong with resin, your creations all came out well - flowers in resin blocks are always pretty.

    So Becky.... I saw this video yesterday, and there was something that kept bugging me and bugging me, and BUGGING MEEEEE, to the point that I just woke up and my first thought was this video...
    I'm obsessed like that. 😅
    I HAVE NEVER EVER WORK WITH RESIN, SO I DONT KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT BUT....
    You know the mushroom, right? That you wanted to have the white "circles"? .... well there should be a way cause clearly, the design is there!!!... But how?! HOW, HOW, HOW?!!! 😅😅😅
    Soooooo.... listen, again, I KNOW NOTHING about resin, but when I woke up and kept thinking on the HOW, HOW, HOW?! 😅 I wonder: is it possible to mix a little bit of resin with white and then use a pipette to pour it in the "circled" design drop by drop, as a very thin layer??? Maybe it will stay in place, then after it dries you pour the rest in red?!
    Oh girl, please, if you try that and it works, let me know.... I am dying to know.... and if you try it and doesnt work, also let me know... or if you manage to do it any other way... PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!! 😅😅😅😅
    As you can see, my OCD is eating me alive here!!! 😅😅😅😅
    And btw, very entretaining video as always! ❤

    • @BeckyTregear
      @BeckyTregear  5 місяців тому

      Haha don't worry, I've been laying awake thinking about that mushroom lid too! 😂 I think the only way to do it is over many days, filling in one circle at a time and having the mold on an angle so that particular circle is flat. Let resin cure, then repeat until all circles are filled and dry. THEN fill the rest of the mold with red dyed resin. Sigh....it'll take a whole week just to do that one mold, LOL.
