Video 3-Greater Prairie-chicken encounter (18 Total) and a LIFE-BIRD for us! We arrived WELL before dawn and the Prairie Chickens so we wouldn’t disturb them. We also made sure we were quiet while the chickens were displaying. Check out the birds booming, sparing for dominance, jumping, calling, and the most impressive part for me is when the hen runs through the lek checking out the males showing off. It’s incredible!

@dnasbirdingadventures DnA’s birding Adventures heads to #nebraska to check out Kearney, the Sandhill Crane Capital of the World. It’s migration time and they forage in the corn fields during the day and roost along the North Platte river at night. There are a half a million for a month and a half before the head north to breed in Canada, Siberia and Alaska. It’s a spectacle to watch and listen to the trumpeting cranes. We’re always up for some other #birding birdwatching too.
