    Hey everyone, I'm Neil Patel, and today, I'm going to share seven ways you can increase your e-commerce sales by over 50%.
    Tip #1: Focus on one product.
    You do not need to be selling millions of products like Amazon to do well.
    I met a lady who makes high heels more comfortable selling insoles.
    She has one product, and that's it. Do you know how much she makes?
    Well into the seven figures per year. You don't need a lot of products to do well.
    If you're on Shopify, you can use Oberlo, and that'll help make it, so you don't have to worry about the logistics.
    If you're only doing one product, your life becomes so much easier. Focus on one product that solves a pain point.
    #2: Upsell and downsell.
    It's easier to get someone who has bought from you once to spend more money with you than it is to get new people to buy from you.
    If you're selling insoles that make women's shoes nice and comfortable, your upsell could be a pack of three instead of just one.
    That's an easy upsell.
    Doing simple things like that will increase your lifetime value, which will open up more possibilities.
    #3: Advertise.
    Facebook advertising and Google AdWords both work extremely well in e-commerce marketing.
    Facebook ads and Google ads are a great way to boost your e-commerce sales, and you if you're not sure where to get started with Facebook ads or Google ads, leave a comment below and I'll answer you, and I'll give you feedback on how to run the perfect Facebook ad campaign or a Google AdWords campaign.
    #4: Leverage subscriptions.
    Make sure you offer subscription options. For example, if you're selling makeup or lipstick, people are gonna run out of it. The question is just when? So why not give them an option where they can subscribe and continually get new makeup?
    If you're using Shopify, you can use a tool called Recharge to make your product a subscription.
    #5: Recover abandoned shoppers.
    In 2017, roughly 75.6% of shopping carts were abandoned.
    So, you need to make them come back and buy.
    How do you do that?
    Recovering abandonment solutions, such as collecting their emails.
    When someone's buying from you, you're probably collecting their name and email first before you're showing the credit card information.
    You can do things like exit intent offers, using tools like Hello Bar, where you show them an exit offer saying, hey, thinking about leaving?
    Put in your name and email and I'll send you a 10% off coupon or a free shipping coupon.
    #6: Optimize your checkout process.
    Baymard did a study on checkout pages.
    They found when companies optimize their checkout pages, they made an extra 260 billion, that's not million, that's billion with a B, extra dollars.
    Don't forget to optimize your checkout process.
    The way you do that is by first removing unnecessary fields.
    Why would you ask someone for their name and email and address multiple times?
    That's unnecessary. Keep it simple.
    The other way you can optimize your checkout process is by making it two-step.
    #7: Leverage a referral program.
    If someone's buying from your e-commerce site, they probably know other people have the same problem and need your solution.
    Create a referral program, and you can do this through ReferralCandy.
    You can do simple things like, get 20 bucks when you refer someone that also signs up and buys.
    The key with a referral program is to incentivize both the person giving the referral and the person accepting the referral.
    Follow these seven tips, and you should generate at least 50 plus percent more in sales.
    Leave a comment below and say, hey, here's my e-commerce store.
    Which one of these tips should I be using first?
    I'll respond telling you which one you should do first, second, et cetera, so that way, you're doing the ones first that are gonna create the biggest ROI.
    And I can't just tell everyone, hey, go do them in this order, because it varies for each and every single e-commerce site out there.
    But if you leave a comment, I'll make sure that I give you a detailed response that'll help you grow faster.

It is a good one of a kind product for making money online using this simple email marketing minus the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend finally got great results with it.

    Great video once again Neil. Crisp and straight to the point. Along with your marketing school podcast, I love these bite-sized videos/audio that delivers, without the lengthy fluff.
    Don't have questions now but just wanted to thank you for the point you always stress about focus and the 80/20 stuff. Seemed counter-intuitive to someone getting into Ecommerce not long ago and trying to "plant my seeds" equally onto different business paths. Resisting that urge and focusing on one side hustle has given me the most growth so far.
    Looking forward to more great video content of yours and wish you lots of expansion
    and growth in your brand!

    Hey Neil, In 2018 I had an e-commerce store with Shopify. I made a lot of mistakes and made only 2 sales in 2 months. I closed the store down shortly after. I realized I had to put more time and research into SEO and marketing. I am a new subscriber to your channel and I feel you are here to help people and not to fatten your wallet. I will be starting another Shopify store in a few months and hope that I have done my homework this time around! Thank you for your wisdom sir! Chip

The revenue went down by 50% when I compare month to month. Nothing changed in terms of campaign structure, ads, etc. CTR remained the same but conversion rate decreased by 50% resulting in decrease in CPL by 50%. So not sure what drove this decrease and don't know where to start to optimize this campaign. Can you give me some advice? Thanks!

    in facebook ads, as i go on putting limits on audience, like selecting specefic pincode, interest age,,,,why estimated reach in fixed amount keep decreasing? if not got my point reply me i will explain same with example

    • @neilpatel
      @neilpatel  6 років тому +1

      Hey Krishna, when you narrow your audience, your reach decreases because your audience has fewer people. For instance, if you want women between the ages of 18 and 30 to see your ads, you're excluding women of other ages and men entirely. Thus, your reach declines, but that's not a bad thing. Good luck!

    Hello Neil, I have a gadget website and have done some FBA. But haven’t seen much in return. When using FBA what do you suggest as far as targeting and running campaigns.

    • @neilpatel
      @neilpatel  6 років тому

      Narrowing down your audience is essential. Figure out what demographics you want to target based on prior sales and the types of gadgets you sell, then restrict your audience accordingly. You might also want to test AdWords on a limited budget to see if you get better ROI than with Facebook Ads. Good luck!

    Hello, im trying to start selling online through an ecommerce platform (like amazon) , will it make more sense to sell through your own website? or its ok to use platforms such as the ebays and amazon of my country? (my country has different platforms, we are not ebay and amazon friendly country, its almost impossible to buy from these).
    Also, will it make sense to import something from outside of my country e.g. Japan from an ecommerce site and resell in my country? (the product is great and better quality and better options than what we have here). There is still custom and tax to be taken into consideration and also shipping costs that i think will make the price more expensive. Is this what people usually do though? getting their products from outside and become a reseller where they are from? With taxes and customs and shipping cost added into their selling price
    Thirdly, Should i order a huge amount of product which i think will sell well or just stocking up a few of the products and see how it goes first? if a product is selling better then the others then i try and restock that particular item?
    Lastly, Quality or Quantity?
    Having a good quality product but more expensive is better than an ok product but not so good quality? Mind you im asking this because in my country (indonesia) almost everything is fake, when looking for things online the first few pages you scrolled is fake and cheap items e.g. glasses, bags, watches, shoes etc. Will it be better if i import things from japan and sell for a little more expensive but has better quality or do what the other resellers do and sell cheaper options like such if im to import from china?
    Thanks

    • @neilpatel
      @neilpatel  4 роки тому

      I would definitely sell through your own site! You can test on selling through Amazon to see if it helps increase sales and ROI.
      It's always better to test the waters first before getting in over your head and ordering a ton of products that may not sell.
      I always say, quality is best :)

    Any advice for marketing disposal green leaf plates to restaurants / food servers? A key point being that they are not something they will have seen before. Any tip is very much appreciated! Maybe restaurant owners aren't the best to target.

    • @neilpatel
      @neilpatel  6 років тому

      When you're bringing something new to market, client education is key. You could go after the consumer market instead, but restaurants and hospitality businesses would likely be your best bet for high revenue. Create lots of informative content on your website to educate people about why your plates are better than anything else they've tried. Good luck!

    Hi Neil, so my friend and I are looking to start an online shop using Shopify and we’ve been looking around and researching as much as we can but we still get stuck on what to sell. I personally believe clothing is a good way to start out, using drop shipping and Shopify to generate revenue. If you have any advice to give on this it would be greatly appreciated!

    • @neilpatel
      @neilpatel  6 років тому +1

      Clothing is a great choice if you don't mind the competition. You'll want a unique brand angle to attract people to your shop as well as competitive pricing. The best way to launch a clothing shop is to get people excited in advance. Start a blog, get active on Instagram, and start building a follower base. When you launch, have systems in place to upsell, downsell, remarket to people who abandon their shopping carts, etc. Good luck!

    Hey Neil!
    My website was a very successful e-commerce site in 2015 and 2016 but 2017 wasn't the best. In trying to fix things, we figured it was our AdWords account that was the problem but it turns out our analytics was throwing bad conversions causing Adwords to go bad. So now that we have redone AdWords from scratch, I have some campaigns working but still just not as good as they used to. Also conversions are wayyyy too high! I was hoping I could get some tips on the best campaigns we should be starting out with, etc along with any suggestions on Facebook ads. We have no Facebook ads going and have no idea where to start.
    Thanks :) !

Since it’s the holiday season I’ve been having difficulty finding a new and affordable shipping carrier. I previously used USPS however their delivery has been inconsistent.
