The voices of med school I've become very attached to: Dr. Sattar, Dr. Ryan, Sketchy Micro guy, and Dirty USMLE
Me too
@@fereshtahkhoshbakht1999 Whos Dr. Ryan?
@@dailyusmle8710 He's the one who makes "Boards and beyond" videos
Same!
Dude same lol. I get so much comfort when I hear dirty talking, like its all gonna be okay
Really great video!! I wanna add that a major differentiating factor between Foscarnet and Cidofovir is that Foscarnet has a seizure risk (I just think of S for seizure)
-previr = protease
-buvir = 5B RNA bolymerase
-asvir = 5A
Make sense
one way to remember the hep c drugs :
-If it ends with "previr" like "previous" so think NS3/4A , also starts with p as in protease .
-" ASVIR " like after and starts with an A so think "NS5A"
-"BUVIR" starts with b so think "NS5B"
As usual, Great video
One note , i think that viral thymidine kinase adds only one phosphate to some of the anti-herpetic drugs ( acyclovir , valacyclovir and famciclovir as I remember) and the other 2 phosphate groups are added by cellular kinases, not the viral one
give CIDofovir with probeneCID
I'm waiting for part 2 of it. This was the most helpful thing in my learning antivirals
Thank you so much dude You are a legend. Any chance we can get a signaling mechanisms videos for hormones?

8:23 - I think it is because of the purine ring structures in the drugs (Acyclovir, Valcyclovir and Famcyclovir). Anyway, your channel help me a lot during my preparation for MRCP part 1 and part 2 written exams. I really appreciate it. Thank you.
Love all of your videos 👌👌👌👌

Christopher Patrick he already did
@@sayedaali6730 Are you sure? Do you have a link to the video?
Great video mate amazing job! I think there is mis-spelling. It is Simeprevir
Is this for step 2 only? I heard him say step 2 and I’m studying for step 1?
You need to know this for step 1.
Very interesting! However 1) the antivirals in the AMI group would also block exosomes- due to exosomes uptake of sialic acid, and therefore also affect exosomes' action on T-cells by inhibiting them. Wouldn't this be hugely problematic and compromise the immune system? 2) the antivirals in the cyclone group, wouldn't it also inhibit RNA polymerase in cardiac cells as well as other normal cells due to its inhibition of thyamine kinase? This would mean that normal cells wouldn't be able to replicate. Thoughts?
the drugs are activate by the virus....the first phosphylation step, making it more specific to cells infected by the virus.
Hey can u make video on biostat hypothesis alpha and beta errors confidence interval... it will be very helpful
Search on here USMLE biostatistics. There’s a guy i think his names Dr. randy something who Dirty endorsed for his bio stats review. It’s good
Hey Dirty! Thank you for your videos, I know you're working hard to bring us these videos. Could you please make a video on the high yield microbiology. Thank you

Sofo5Buvir
I just wanna express my gratitude to Dr.Ono on UA-cam for curing my HSV 1&2. God will bless you Dr Ono
your video would be half as long and easier to watch if you didnt wast so much time saying "this is like so high yield" like every 5 seconds
