Ok. I finished watching this video. I'm getting one. If it wasn't a Sunday I'd order one today. I don't engage in commercial activity (buying and selling) on Sundays so I'll order it tomorrow. Thanks. You are great at these videos. Based on one of them I bought a Pomoly stove
@@Lonewolfwildcamping Now I'm wondering if the stove will be irrelevant. If I can use a hammock in subzero winter weather what need is there for a stove? 😉😉
I have a 15F hammock from Superior Gear and love it! He makes great stuff! Thanks for showing us the beast he made you and walking us through all the features. I wasn't aware it could zip into a pod. I'll have to hang mine and try that today.
@@skipperbranscum4061 I've used my 15F hammock on a 70F overnight. I just covered up with a sleeping bag liner. Given the hammock insolation is below you it won't cause you to over heat. A top quilt is a different story. I just got my setup over the summer so I have yet to use it in the cold. It's comfort rated for 15F so I'm betting I can push it a little lower than 15F.

Needs a built-in second ridgeline above the bug net for a pre-mounted tarp that can be stored away with tarp socks and it would be a perfect all-in-one system. Apart from that: awesome design!!
I've thought about the superior hammock a couple of times since it came out. The biggest concern I had in my mind was what about the rare moments when there's a splashy or side rain and you forgot the underquilt protector or there's a breezy wet snow that drifts up the bottom of the insulation. How do you launder it or dry it with the ridgeline and biners and stuff on it? You'd have to remove the hardware, the bugnet, the ridgeline and be careful with it. Maybe it's not too different than washing a quilt but still seems like a chore when it eventually needs it. Quilts are a PITA to wash alone without extra cordage and hardware attached. With these, it'd be more apt to become a dedicated cold weather only item. The version I configured was about $500. Seems like nice quality from other videos I've seen on them. Thanks for putting your thoughts out there on it.
Thanks, take care of your gear and it will last a long time, as far as washing goes , do it hanging, and for rain camping, stay tuned for a future upload and you will see how to stay totally dry
