I saw Dr. Otis Williams and the Temptations recently, and I admit they do not sound like the Temptations of the 60s, 70s, 80s, or 90s. However, everyone, Im sure realized this when they bought their tickets. Nonetheless, the Temptations put on a stellar performance. The Temptations show was performed with respect for people making a financial sacrifice to see them, reminiscing, and hoping to get their money's worth. There was no yelling, cursing, twerking, booty shaking, just singing songs that we all grew up with. We got to sing along and dance with them, and the front row ticket holders were alloted the opportunity to talk with them and shake each member of the group's hand. They were perfect gentlemen, and the audience loved them. Thank you, Temps, for the love and memories ❤️
Fun fact: Jawan Jackson, who power slides out of frame at 01:22, played the role of original Temptations Bass Singer Melvin Franklin in the Broadway musical Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations. That was before he joined The Temptations in real life.
My problem with this young man is what seems to be his electronically enhanced vocals on some songs. I see that orange box on his belt and hear the sound that is not natural. Sorry, thumbs down on fake bass sounds, sir.
@@mmarie294, I've looked at as many Temptation videos that I can find on UA-cam and have been a fan since 1964. I have no doubt that the young gentleman is a welcomed and fresh addition, but electronic enhancement to add more strength to any great bass singer is a no-no in classic r&b, my friend.
@MakerNoMoney I was there and can tell you there were no electronically modified vocals. See for his natural speaking voice: ua-cam.com/video/O6Rfif3NVVc/v-deo.htmlsi=9ZuqhZHNFuKXtokp
@@JoelYancey, I saw that interview as well. I don't want to analyze your video a second time , but the yellow contraption that he fiddles with on his belt would have to be explained to make me a believer. 😄
The temps will be the best they still tell the story of life they the true group they keeping repectful that's why some people say it time stop keep going
Temps, time to remove songs and add more. You my everything/I could Never/even honor less songs you recorded. Each city you visit doesn't change in concert but the uniform.
Wow, we see things so differently. I'm a Temptations fan from (WAY BACK) and enjoyed (all) of the line-ups. But I'm really impressed with (THIS) line-up especially. Mainly because this one feels like they are (ALL) mainstays not just someone fitting in to temporarily fill in a spot. I knew Ron was a mainstay and the same as Terry, from day one. I really liked Willie big-time, but Jawan is a "DEAD-UP" Temptation, and the same could be said of Tony. I saw them and "DEFINITELY" will see this lineup again when they pass through. "TRUST ME THEY ARE SMOKING IN CONCERT."
@supremefreedom5645 They may not sound as good as the original Temptations, but it is good to have a group that has survived for sixty years around and still performing. Thumbs up for Otis Williams for his resilience and undying energy for keeping it together for all these years. Thank you Temptations for keeping these classics alive!
Amazing job Otis. You put together a wonderful wonderful group. Thanks for keeping the legacy going.
