    Biggest ShellCracker of my life was caught on the Santee bank fishing along a 30ft dropoff using dime size mussel shell for bait , didn't have a scale but it took a thumb and three fingers to fill it's mouth . Caught it on an ultra light a 4ft tiny light rod with a pfluger open face micro reel w 4Lb mono .
    I was fishing the diversion canal between lake Marion n Moultrie ..
    Night fishing the same area using hand size bluegill I caught two bluecats just after dark , one 42Lb one 45Lb .
    The Santee was as good a fishing area as any I know .
    Keep your hooks sharp n your line fresh .

    Ok, video of you catching fish but absolutely no information. You could spice the video up with actual content like we saw the rig but what time of year, water temp, location, depth of water.....just saying because fish move and conditions change but catching fish during spawn is a small window and very misleading.

  • @brianb4278
    @brianb4278 5 років тому

    Most of those are bluegill not shellcrackers! Learn what you catch!

    • @NoSkunkGang
      @NoSkunkGang  5 років тому +5

      not once in the video did I ever call a bluegill a shellcracker. 🤦‍♂️ I would assume you were forced to fish alone cause you don't have many buddies if any at all and I can see why, but I still wish you the best because that's got to suck.

    • @70MikeMike
      @70MikeMike 5 років тому

      Wait I thought bluegill, red ear, bream, and shell crackers were the same fish? I'm not sure, please let me know. I'm from southwest Louisiana and we have some big ones here!

      The redear sunfish (Lepomis microlophus, also known as the shellcracker, Georgia bream, cherry gill, chinquapin, improved bream, rouge ear sunfishand sun perch) is a freshwater fish in the Centrarchidae family and is native to the southeastern United States.

      @@70MikeMike georgias, and improved bream are hybrids between bluegill and green sunfish, i think you are right on the other names
