This book is not my favorite, but it's by no means a terrible book. I agree that the action is great and I love the parallels between people in Kexford and Wonderland citizens and I love the romance between Alice and Katz. However, the nonsense makes it hard to follow for me and I absolutely HATE how political the book is when Alice is in Kexford. I know that it serves a purpose as a foil to Wonderland but I just really dislike politics in fictional books. I used to rank this book closer to the bottom of my own personal list but it has moved up a few slots recently. I am interested to hear your thoughts on As Old As Time. It was the first Twisted Tale I ever read and was my favorite for a long time but others have become my favourites since then. Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite movie though. I know you said you just got Fate Be Changed and I would love to hear your thoughts on that one too. Do you have Set in Stone and Suddenly Super? Will you be reviewing those?
The first time I read/listened to this book I could not make sense of the 'nonsense', and I did not enjoy the politics at all, so I'm pretty sure that it was ranked much lower. Going into the reread I knew I had to physically read it (my husband physically read it the first time around and he pointed out the play on words etc). The politics bit isn't my favorite still, the book may not even need it truly, but at least this time around I felt more attuned to the whole story. As Old As Time is the next review coming! I really enjoyed reading it again. Brazwell does amazing work with these stories, so its no surprise that all my top three are by her. Currently reading Fate Be Changed - so far so good! I'm just under halfway, but my favorite Brave-related novel thus far is still Bravely by Steifvater. I don't have Set in Stone or Suddenly Super yet, but they are in my amazon cart haha
