Southern Idaho: Shredding INSANE Deep Snow!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 жов 2021
- In this video we traveled to a place that we have never ridden snowmobiles before, Fairfield Idaho. When we first arrived, we were greeted by a huge snow storm that put down nearly 50” of snow in the Sawtooth Mountains! Needless to say, we were eager to get out and experience what was about to be some of the deepest snow we have ever ridden. To see what our first day of riding this insane snow was all about, watch Rolling in the DEEP: 50"+ of Fresh in Southern Idaho.

I’m getting stoked for this season
Braaaaaap that skidoo feeling
I’m really happy to see the videos coming out guys. One of my favorite channels, helped me figure out where to go in the UP. Not only that inspired me to even try snowmobiling! Thanks Guys keep going
That's what its all about man, thanks for the support
Ohhh hell yeah!!
Man that looked like a killer day!
was this previous footage? Like for october that is a ton of snow, especially for a place more southern in idaho compared to northern idaho and bc
Our Montana group of riders have been talking about coming out to Idaho to ride some new areas and we may have to try the Fairfield area. McCall is definitely on our list also. I put some Powder Pro skis on my 2017 Doo 850 X, have about 4000 miles on and had no issues. The other 3 guys I ride with all had a R & D session in Island Park one afternoon on an untouched 25 degree hill in about 2 feet of powder. Perfect conditions in mid February to test my sled with Powder pros, another 850 without powder pros and two Polaris 800 Pros with stock skis. We rode the exact same lines sidehilling for about 250 yards before turning down. I felt as soon as I switched to the powder pros my sled became much easier and less tiring to ride. The rider feedback through the handlebars while sidehilling was probably 75 percent less. The side to side movement quit almost completely. I made 3 runs on the all stock 850 and that owner then made 3 runs on mine. We didn't discuss anything between runs but when we were finished and I asked him what he thought the first thing he said was that mine was way easier to ride and hold the hill. Then he rode his again and figured out that there was a ton of feedback on his compared to mine. I detach my sway bar as soon as I get in the powder also, the ski and detachment combination holds the lines far easier than with it attached. He went and got the quick release for his Doo also the following day and now has the same exact setup as mine. Our other two buddies are on 850 Polaris sleds now and both run the Powder pro skis also. I've run them since 2005 on Cats and now that I switched to Doo love them on it too. If you're running the stock Ski Doo skis on any of their new mountain sleds you might want to give the Powder Pro's a try. They just work great and make the sled far easier to ride. That comes in handy on those 70-80 mile powder days!
Appreciate the insight on those. I agree that the proper ski/suspension/sway bar combo can have unreal effects on sidehilling performance. I feel that the spindle/rubber/ski combo is overlooked on stock sleds and it's something that should be far more precise than the way they all come from the factory!
Looks like a lot of jump possibilities!
I see why everyone in the usa is moving to idaho. That’s where I would live if I was an American. Good vid boys!!
My home state. 😁 It's beautiful! I've ridden many of these areas.
Please don't come we love are freedom Trump 2024
I started snowmobiling in the early 70s when they made skis out of good American steel! No problems unless the wear rods went when you forgot to check them. Go back to all steel or some sturdy alloy, i hate plastic and composite on skis. I beat the hell out of that 69 scorpion, taking jumps, wide open, off 10 to 15 foot giant snowbanks at the end of large parking lots into virgin snow on the other side into a field at age 13 and we loved it!! lol Unless i landed in a spot that i landed before, ouch! The machine took it all! Did i mention i miss snowmobiling? I sold my last machine in 2008, a very sad day indeed. Take care
I live in fairfield its great riding, straight from my house to the trails I dont even have a sled trailer 😁
Jack, the best way to make the grippers work is if you just go ahead and switch to Polaris. You know you want to! 😜
Hahaha we tried to get one this year! Too late to the game
@@Boondock_Nation Going with another boosted Skidoo?
For the ski rubber fix - try the Munster ones
Tried the stiffeners but the top side saver looks sweet. Thanks for the tip
I live right in Fairfield how did I miss you
What drone are you guys rocking? The shots look amazing!!!
Great video keep’em coming!🙌🏻
Thanks man, using a Mavic Pro 2. Got our hands on a DJI FPV drone so that's gonna spice things up this winter
That’s so cool that’s right in my backyard lol won’t give the spot away
🛋 summit
My uncle is Todd Tupper that would be dope if you did a vid with him
Man I must be spoiled living in northern BC. That just looks like an ordinary ride for us.
Wow, everyone is really impressed!
Yes BC is the best place to go
Still need more snow this year in northern BC, It’s been super cold but not a huge amount of snow
@@FordManiac76 300cms(over 9ft) mid mountain at the local ski hill!
U guys should come up northern Ontario
Great videos thanks. I’ve got a Polaris 146 850 switch back assault, can it go in that deep snow or would I just get stuck? Thx
I mean, I guess I will watch it.
Ya hahaha
where was this I wanna send it this season
Gotta love that skidoo “feeling” problems. Been there with no warranty on their tracks. Junk. 👌👌👌🔥🔥
When was this taken? Surely not this year as I just brought up the Idaho traffic cams at the Pine turnoff and there isn't any snow at all yet.
I was thinking the same thing. I'm here in Twin not too far from Fairfield and I don't believe they got that much snow yet. Hmm
All the videos we are releasing on Thursdays were shot last season. Gonna keep them rolling until we can start filming again in December
@@Boondock_Nation Thanks for clearing that up. I was like what!! Lol great videos guys.
You guys should hit me up, I ride in Fairfield every year.
Duropro ski rubbers.they actually make a set for skidoos running gripper skis
I'm lucky to get 10 rides out of a durapro. Went through 5 pairs last season
@@Boondock_Nation well if you find a solution let me know cause I plan on putting my grippers off my xp onto my gen4
Ross Robinson needs to chime in....
And where's Burandt?
I can't believe you drove over Perrine bridge and didn't BASE jump🤔.

To much music, the sleds sing there own song's, ya need to leave the music on the edit floor, jmo,
Didn’t know y’all were from wisco !
yup, just a couple of flatlanders
Lol it’s not that flat but it is in comparison to out west now Illinois on the other hand, flat as a pancake
Your first Problem is you’re not running skidoo of skis. The stock skis are excellent next to a set of C&A’s.
Munsters ski savers or durapros are the only way to go when riding aggressive!
broken too many ski-doo skis to stick with them. durapros seem to be good for about 10 rides, great warranty program though
you guys already have snow!
How does someone join yalls squad? Boondocker myself from up michigan been doing it since i was 10 born and raised. Looking to reach out..
We're a two man crew but we try to ride with as many people as we can. If the paths cross one day it would be great to ride with you!
Was this recorded last season?
yeah, in February
@@Boondock_NationI ment 21/22. I wasn't sure if snow had already fallen. So this was 20/21. Thanks for the reply. It looks like you guys had a ton of fun.
Dura pro rubbers
Went through 6 sets last season lol
Good old Fairfield. Looks like you guys didn't get into the real mountain stuff, there are some nasty fun honey holes up there that look like a movie set we ride. Island park and mccall have honey holes that even with last year being a horrible winter they were insane but we keep those secret.
We go passed up to smiley creek well worth it
@@schnoebelen2333 smiley is usually decent we went way back and camped the night and rode out. Didn't find anything crazy last year at all compared to mccall and island parks honey holes.
try Polaris, Cat. this year.
This is from last year I guess ?
yup, we had so much content banked we decided to put out a bunch of new videos this fall
Those machines make my 2001 rmk600 look like pos😂
Meeker co again please
I live in idaho and ride in idaho.... that snow dont look that deep 🤷♂️🤔... cool video though.
Buy lynx skies
Definitely considering that. When I rode the lynx last year I noticed the skis are beeeefy
@@Boondock_Nation yes, and take of the cormant irons, and put on sqaure hardox irons they wont stick to rocks ore trailers
first mistake buying the wrong skis by the ca`s for ski-doo problem solved
How come BoondockNation doesn't do any boondocking? Not one shot in the trees they should be calling them selves meadow bashers.
Videos from last season and your releasing it now? Come on.......
thats NOT deep snow😂🙈
This is deep snow👌

"INSANE Deep Snow!" Ha ha ha, you obviously have no clue what deep snow is about...
