I lived in Teaneck for two years in the late 70s and early 80s. Made lots of friends, many fond memories. Played in the Teaneck Southern Little League, went to Hawthorne Elementary, and lived right near Jefferson Middle School. Whenever I visit NYC I always stop by Teaneck

Thanks for sharing! It is still a fabulous town. Did you know Teaneck just renamed a street after the Isley Brothers? Here's the article: www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/music/2021/06/25/isley-brothers-have-streets-named-them-new-jersey/5355197001/ ... and Teaneck Road Hot Bagels was voted one of the best in the COUNTRY!

Hello I'm currently living in Jersey City and it's become very loud in my neighborhood so me and my boyfriend are considering moving to Teaneck! It looks like a wonderful little community.

Sorry for the late reply, just got back from a road trip! Teaneck has a great community and lots to offer. You might also consider nearby Bergenfield. Please reach out via email if you'd like to discuss further - toconnell@kw.com.

Teaneck is really loud too. The spring, summer, and fall are torture with ultra loud leaf blowers, weed wackers and lawnmowers starting from 7am to about 7pm everyday except Sunday.

@@RAREFORMDESIGNS Ha ha. You obviously have the experience of a 12 year old living in a suburban US neighborhood. You are lucky that's the noise you may run from.

Teaneck was an answer on a Crossword Puzzle.

Thanks Ed, that's interesting.... what was the question?

@@TeresaLovesNJ I think it just said "New Jersey City"... and I had no idea for it with the number of letters and what I had already figured out that went into it. I live in Oregon. There was a question another time that said "Oregon City" and it was some odd city... I was like "How would anyone figure that out?". I like learning about new places and Crosswords often lead to that for me.

@@U2BEMatchmaker Wow, that's a really broad question. Good for you figuring it out!

Highest property taxes in the country. Prove me wrong.

Thanks for commenting. Yes, we have high property taxes, but we also have the homestead rebate, the senior property tax freeze and a $250 deduction for eligible seniors. We also have one of the BEST public school systems in the US - funded by property taxes.

@@TeresaLovesNJ We don't have high property taxes, we have the highest property taxes in the United States. The schools have very, very low ratings. Where does all the money go? I have neighbors that pay $100,000 dollars a year in property taxes, that's about $160,000 before income taxes on less than half an acre, which is almost $3,100 a week. I know a guy in Teaneck that pays almost $150,000 in property taxes that's more than $250,000 before income taxes, which is about $5,000 a week. Where does all that money go? The people paying the highest property taxes don't even use the schools here, they pay for private schools.

@@RAREFORMDESIGNS Thanks for commenting. Here is an article from the Patch re Teaneck High School from April patch.com/new-jersey/teaneck/teaneck-high-school-named-top-u-s-high-school-u-s-news. Your friends paying $100-$150K must live in multi-million dollar homes - and those that are fortunate enough to afford those homes often send their children to private school regardless of the town they live in and how well the public schools perform. That said, here is a link to the Teaneck Municipal Budgets so you can see where the money goes. www.teanecknj.gov/budgets. I think Teaneck does an admirable job in running the town and making it a great place for it's residents. Maybe take a walk in Votee Park some afternoon and ask the locals...
