I order to win this lawsuit the rasheeda team has to prove that Florida never intended to pay him... Not going to happen.
A counter suite might also be a nice approach.
Exactly what I was thinking?!!!!! The 150k Florida paid him to pay back the money from Miami that was obviously spent........ Could possibly even file charges for extortion or a Federal Rico charge, would probably win!!! But, TBH, just better to settle for the least amount and move on from this mess!!!!
Miami even denies the original deal.
Florida and Napier was recently all over the news with the big portal pickups. Lots of positivity. The timing of this lawsuit is suspicious, especially now that this kid is at Georgia, Florida’s biggest rival. I wouldn't be surprised if Kirby and his staff are responsible for encouraging this suit. I'm curious if this kids attorney is a Georgia fan.
Damage is done on recruiting trail and today is the worst day. Should let it play out becuase this lawsuit will sour very quickly when team Rashada story starts getting holes poked in it. If they don’t get something on UF at discovery his team will be pushing to settle
The fact they thought they had a 13M deal on the table would suggest how disillusioned this whole family is
Has to try to make money in court because they obviously don’t think he can do it on the field.
I read the complaint and I do think it will be settled but it would be nice to see the young man deposed on the stand. I think UF should hold the line through discovery phase. Stories change when perjury penalties start becoming a reality. This case will set a precedent and it needs to be the right one.
I sued a hospital for something similar when I lost my job in 2018. This is what will most likely happen:
- lawyers will fight this aggressively.
- they will file a motion to dismiss the case.
- they will file to have certain claims stricken from being included.
- some of the claims will be dropped.
- discovery will show blemish’s because you have to turn over everything.
- they will will try to break the Rashada’s during depositions.
- they will file a motion for summary judgment and will probably win.
- Rashada will appeal and it will set in appeals court for years.
He is going to learn quickly about the court system. You have to prove everything.
This will be a great lesson for Rashada and other athletes. The programs will learn too.
I’m not for a Settlement for anything. This kid and his dad were both out for the money anyway. They might have been promised something but after the smart ones got involved, they saw this was as ridiculous as it sounds! I have NEVER SEEN a kid in high school worth more than a rookie in the NFL. This was a joke and it’s still a joke! Take them to Court, I wouldn’t settle for anything!
They don't want to see our Gators shine. But share overcome this. Go, Gators.
😂💀
This is what NIL gets you. Hope all that is for it is happy. Go gators
Well thought out.
They see that nfl chance slipping away and going for anything they can get
Exactly!!
Lol Excellent point
come on- he started as a freshman. most players dont play that young. now he’s at one of the best programs at the country. he certainly can play nfl ball still.
@@rickyrougs he's a 3rd string qb right now as a sophomore great progess
Individuals don’t settle unless they know the facts are not in their favor. Settlements are for organizations with the resources to pay up and the lack of desire to be distracted. Where I think this goes is a motion to dismiss due to lack of evidence and probably standing which is likely to be favorable to Napier. Oral contracts are difficult to enforce … and even more difficult when there is no contemporaneous evidence. And fraud allegations are more difficult than that … Napier never promised to pay Rashada himself, obviously, and couldn’t bind another party to pay him.
Like you said it's a money grab from a family that has a reputation for money grabs. Don't settle and counter sue! "Air all the dirty" laundry for what it is a greedy family and the "pandoras box called NIL! Don't set a precedence, to give in like this society normally does but let everyone see the BAD NIL and the crazy greed of this family. And others to come.
You should have been an att6. Excellent analysis.
Amazing people believe what comforts them. Dude below says that screwing this up shows how good a people we are. Another says that you cannot know what is going on here bc there are many law suits out there.
A few thoughts...
1. So...when a booster (and in imaginary world, a coach) 'commits' to a player, it's a legally-binding verbal contract? That right? But when a player 'commits' to a program, it's...not? Should programs start suing players who flip for lost moneys? Maybe UF should sue Etienne...
2. I don't understand how anyone thinks that the Miami (FL) stuff has anything to do with UF. Jaden not ending up at Miami (FL) was on Jaden. Consider: Jaden was originally headed to Miami (FL)...flips and decides to go to UF...that falls through...and Jaden (and his money-grubbing dad) are standing there, trying to figure out their options. Is it even reasonable to think that Jaden couldn't have gone to Miami (FL) at that point? What...Miami (FL) closed its doors and is no longer a school? Does Miami (FL) still have a football program? (stadium notwithstanding) And what...UGA welcomed Jaden with open arms, but Miami (FL) doesn't need a 5-star QB? In order to prove that there was damage done (moneys lost), you'd have to prove that Miami (FL) wouldn't have taken him after-the-fact. And like I said: that only exists in a universe with unicorns.
3. How come it took a year and a half to decide that they were 'harmed?' Why did they only suddenly decide they were 'harmed' a few weeks after he transferred to UGA?
🤔
I have a different take on this. If CBN didn’t do anything unlawful, then let’s remember our 4th quarter song,………..”I Won’t Back Down”.
Florida law requires the parties go through arbitration to settle the matter, and if an offer is made then Rashada needs to accept. If it goes to court and he is awarded a settlement LESS than what was offered in arbitration, then he’s the one who will have to pay both parties court costs and lawyer fees.
I don't think this kid and his attorneys are blindly suing without some type of evidence. People are talking about if he recorded Napier, or the others it is not admissible, which is true but if he has text messages or voicemails is that legal? I would think so.
He said she said they are not gonna settle with him if he has no proof everybody’s gonna see through that
Daddy is going to be counter sued!
Do you know what makes no sense? Going to Arizona State where he probably didn't even receive a NIL deal. This kid is toxic and knows he won't make it in the league. He is colleting as much NIL as he can because he will be a bust in the NFL. I hope our staff has learned from this moving forward. I also hope this does not affect future recruiting.
Agree with comment below. Over promising $13.5 deal not OK bc others over promise playing time. No end to our ability to rationalize.
Screw settling, fight to the end. Go Gators!
I still don't understand how this can be a bad look for Napier. Walker got fired from the staff, Gator Guard and the Gator Collective are defunct. Hathcock doesn't tweet about recruiting anymore. Does anybody believe that Lagway and McCray came to UF for free? Hell no, they got their bags. FV is run by competent people and the lawsuit that was made is only from Rashada's perspective, anyone with a functioning brain synapse cam see that the Rashada thing was a one time ordeal and it was because of Walker, Rojas and Hathcock not Napier.
If this is anything but smoke, why didn't he do this at Arizona State?
You missed the part about his dad being promised a security position. 😂
I think giving them shut up money is at least partial admission of guilt. Give them nothing even if a lawsuit sides with them for more money.
NIL should never have been approved without serious parameters in place before hand. What's next? Can all the universities sue the ncaa for creating this mess?
I agree with you let's take it to court. Recruits aren't dumb they'll see that rashada is just trying to get money. If clearing his name means go to court then go to court DO NOT SETTLE
Rashada bounced all over the USA as a high school QB (chasing money with Daddy?) So it should come as no surprise that he is doing the same act in college football. He basically bombed-out at ASU (485 yards, 4 TDs, 3 INTs, QBR of 23.6) and lost his NIL traction. He is represented the entire process with UF and somehow gets screwed anyway, but not a word from his "representation". The time to sue was immediately after he left for ASU, but mysteriously he waits until he is a Dawg after failing at ASU? This kid and his Dad are used to playing-off bidders to up the ante, and have been doing so for years. No doubt he shopped the UF deal, most likely with Miami, and lost all cred with both institutions. Turns out it is a bonus for UF. Who would want this kid in the same QB room with Lagaway and Mertz anyway? Good riddance. This is not sour grapes. It is just recognizing that we avoided adding a bad apple to our barrel of good guys.
No settle period.
Just thinking about another angle to this, what if Rashada was trying to use the contract with Florida to try and get more money out of Miami and Florida found out and voided the contract. Look what happened this past recruiting cycle with Adarius Hayes, he took a last minute trip to Miami and Florida pulled his offer because of it. Maybe Rashada was being shady and lost everything because of it, now he is trying to salvage a settlement just to grab any money he can after screwing himself. Just an angle I haven’t seen anyone bring up.
then why did he go to UF?
@@greenwave819 It’s all speculation, but it was probably too late for him to get anything from Miami, so he signed with Florida thinking they would still give him a good NIL deal and when they wouldn’t, that is when he asked out of his letter of intent. He didn’t end up at Miami, so they were done with him by then.
Please explain why settling is the best option?? This is Billy's name, reputation etc on the line so he needs to defend his name not pay a kid because he feels like he is owed money afterbplaying a whole year with another school
Because Billy doesn't need discovery to happen in the courts and he also doesn't need this dragging out for months and months.
@@uffootballHis attorneys can move for accelerated discovery then ask for a bench trial to speed up the process. No reason to settle with these clowns.
When you start throwing around phone number checks, Florida was just the dirst one that this happened to publicly
Not disagreeing with your opinion to settle, but what type of president does the set for the future. Will players all over the country get the idea that they can sue, even if they don’t have much of a case knowing that universities would rather settle than get drug into court.
Not a bad point. I think it likely causes contracts and negotiations to be more buttoned up. I do agree with you on what this does for the future.
Precedent
Yeah there is a case. This is huge and florida law is going to be funny
All the other kids are on the team. The roster is full. its absurd to think it'll.help.on recruiting trail.
I think unless Rashada plays like Tom Brady his football career is over. Nobody's going to risk getting sued dealing with him unless he plays at a heisman level
Should have, would have , could have. Doesn't mean anything. Daddy is going to ruin is chances for the NFL. This is a joke!
I disagree. I think this makes no difference on the recruiting trail. If the Rashada thing mattered it would have already happened. I do agree though this is a money grab by the family trying to make a buck off their kid. It will probably be settled but if I were Florida, I'd let it play out in court. Nothing would make me happier on this matter, if the Rashada's walked away with nothing.
You are whats called a delusional fan . Settling out of court pretty much deems you guilty. And how can you know if it's going to affect recruting or not ?
Well, why didn't Rashada sign with Miami? 🤔 I'm curious on why Miami didn't eventually sign Rashada. Did Miami say "F Off" (so to speak)?
Rashada went to Arizona State for what I heard was $800k. Please correct me if I'm wrong about $800k. Why didn't he sign with Miami for the $9M that he was supposedly offered? 🤔
Miami basically was not gonna pony up any more $$$. That's why they didn't sign him. If they decided to offer more than $13M then they would have signed him cuz Rashada's people were selling him to the highest bidder.
Give him nothing then counter sue him for attorney fees. Figure out a financial amount that they cost Florida football by bringing this frivolous lawsuit and sue him for that as well!!!!!
…..and have him sign an NDA to get any settlement
Settle for nothing!
Bs. They aren't settling with them. It's not a good look if we settle. It'll be a better look if it goes the course and a judge says no case. I think this is the worse report you've ever done
I agree
Bad look for Smart even bringing this kid in to the UGA fold. I understand the kids gripe. Unfortunately thats business. He opted out of the Miami deal. Now he's mad because the same thing happened to him. NIL is a hot mess and needs to have some guidelines. Salary caps as well. Florida's recruiting wont be tarnished for this ridiculousness. Itll pass just like everything else with time.
Dawg Fan here. Not sure what Kirby was thinking (apparently not) when he opted to get this wannabe QB, but definitely a mercenary in the same form of a J. Burton which showed No Loyalty to a team (Ga.) that took him in to the fold. Hopefully he will sit on the bench, never play a snap; and continue down the road to some other program. You've got a lot of UGA supporters not at all happy about this scenario.
@@lenjohnson2266that's what I keep seeing. Lot of Georgia fans seem pissed the kid is even on the team, but they're definitely not happy Rashada is stirring all this crap up
Let's deflect this on Smart.
It's funny how some of these schools had no problem adjusting to paying players to come there almost like they were used to It i think the fact that we screwed it up at first shows how above board the program has always been.
“Championships with integrity” has been our motto since the 80’s.
All our other NIL players aren’t suing🤔. Just this family 🤪
Negative Recruiting? Cmon now. Florida had the #8 recruiting class of 2024……In The SEC (that last cycle). In the current class of 2025, Florida is far behind their competition in The SEC and behind that of In State Rivals of Miami and FSU. No one needs to negatively recruit against Florida, they are handling that pretty well themselves. As to the 4th QTR song from Tom Petty in the over rated Swamp of Home Field Advantage should be changed to “Free Falling”. Another bad look for Florida, while most over looked the scene during the Meyer years because they were winning. Not winning now, so the look is under a microscope and for all to see.
CBN didn't promise JR any money it was the collective that promised him so there's that
Should just counter sue him
Rashada et al crowd messing up his NFL potential. No NFL team is going to pick a player who’s prone to blame and lawsuits.
It will definitely be hard to prove that Billy did anything honestly. I watched an earlier video that put the paperwork on the screen sowing conversations between Rasada and the collectives. All documents shown, Billy was nowhere on them. Conversation wise. Emails, texts etc, there's nothing on Billy.
I agree that this is nothing but trying to get a settlement payout. But I wouldn't do it and let it be a lesson to recruits nationwide to not try and pull this nonsense.
Of course it's a money grab. No one disputes that lol
Billy has God first, not worried about any of this.
Irresponsible! She's talking like she knows what happened. People file frivalous lawsuits every day, no, every hour, in this country.
This kid suddenly realized that he isn’t likely an NFL talent and is now playing damage control.
Keep transferring so that no one really gets a look at him and then try to recoup money as much as he can through this law suit. It’s sad that there are families like this, but it happens every few years.
I find myself less interested in college football each year.since it became a "pro" sport. At least this mess might give UF a way to fire Napier "for cause" to avoid the buyout.
Ali the NCAA & the supreme Court need to clean this crap up for college football as a whole! There are no stiff rules in place for anything and it's ridiculous! Far as Rashada I'm sick of him and he is a mercenary, 4 different schools wit' no true stats plus his daddy just as guilty!
This will have a negative impact when it comes to recruiting. Other coaches are going to use this against UF.
Who says the 9.5 mil from Miami was going to go thru? It absolutely ridiculous! It wrong period. Florida screwed up. Heck Miami is wrong and Kirby Smart is wrong for taking on this kid. Just need to settle on something and get on down the road.
Let’s take football out of the equation. If you gave up a 10m deal for your services in return for a 13m deal, you would sue if the company with the larger offer backed off.
You have no idea what transpired in between. And remember, they’re claiming that they were intentionally defrauded and that UF had no intention of ever paying the kid. Funny how we wind up with no QB in that recruiting class, so right there tells you their case is full of holes.
So the UF NIL paid the UM NIL for him to end up with UGA NIL. How many Ls can we take? Billy is playing tic-tac-toe when others are playing chess. Please get Billy out of my program NOW.
you can not compare promising playing time and all that money. that is BOGUS!!!
NIL was a great idea lol!
Settling means admitting to being guilty. He should not settle
Ya mix money with egos and there is a recipe for disaster…
Go Gators beat Miami!🐊
Why undisclosed though? 🤷
And remember he committed to Georgia for undisclosed amount they say!
You better Google his attorney and tread lightly.
Settling is capitulating to a money grab... let it go to court! Who would be paying Rashada's legal fees when they take a billion dollar entity to court?
Bike deal😆😆😆
counter sue florida should sue for this chump trying to get rich
It’s pure anarchy
If JR was lighting it up and not looking like a bust. You think this lawsuit would be a thing? No shot
Tell the scummy money hungry people to kick rocks
It would be this has been in the works for over a year
@@420bengalfanHow so? It doesn’t take all that long to make an assessment as to the viability of a lawsuit.

uf football/Napier...the gift that keeps on giving! Lmao!!!!
Why would it be unfair for other teams to negatively recruit with the Rashada situation ? UF has nobody to blame but themselves for this ridiculous nonsense.
The dad has a phone conversation that was recorded
His father “says” he has a phone conversation recorded. Florida law states Both parties have to be aware They are being recorded.
And in this case the only way of phone conversation would be helpful is if it is of Billy conspiring with someone to never pay the kid. Because that is what they are claiming.
@TheGatorlmc i agree, but "if" he does have it and it happens to "leak," it still will make UF look bad. I personally dont think JR should get the money, but who am i? Im just a USC fan 🤣
Florida is a two-party recording state, so I hope his father is prepared to be charged with a felony.
@philipmarsh3522 its the same law here in cali but " people have things leak" here all the time on accident lol
@@chrisrodgers877 It’s not the leak that matters, it’s the recording. If it leaks then there is evidence that it was recorded and felony charges will be filed
Not what we want but we should settle for something since he may have not got what they promised him (whom ever they are). I think make this go away as quickly and quietly as possible and move on to more productive things for the team. Don’t give him any oxygen in the court of public opinion.
That kid was never worth anywhere near 13mil!! And now he sees that he isn’t going to make very much over the next 3yrs because he isn’t worth 250,000$ a year! Now he want to cash in on millions and millions!!
Do not disagree with what he is worth but why would he not want to cash in?
While technically legal, it was down-right dirty of UF to pull that contract after making all those promises. But I would be really interested to know the nature of the conversations Jaden had with Napier between then and when he signed. Jaden had at least a week to backout (Would it have been too late for him to accept Miami's offer?). Why would he sign unless certain assurances had been made? Maybe he trusted Napier a little too much.
Something tells me that Hathcock and co. were more interested in sticking it to Ruiz (and by extension, Miami) than signing that kid. If true, I hope he gets every penny of that money, and then some.
UF wasn’t involved. It was the Collective.
@@conureron3792 It is my understanding that the contract is signed with UF. The Collective was just the funding source. Seems to me that it's UF's job to make sure that the money is there.
@@k_zildjian4460 You're understanding is incorrect
@@k_zildjian4460 - negative. The contract was between Rashada and The Collective. The national letter of Intent (signing as a recruit to play football) is with UF.
@@k_zildjian4460 - no, the schools and the collectives are entirely separate entities. Research your own canes program and it’s collective - they all have zero ties, by design, and by law, too.
This is just Kirby Smith poison pill nonsense
He got greedy and got nothing 😂
Mario has had a field day flipping UF recruits the last 2 years this year will be like taking candy from a baby 😂 . Tough times ahead for UF 😂
I got my popcorn and corndogs ready. Hahaha. Geaux!

Many coaches get into the recruiting weeds, but manage to deal with things before they blow up this badly. Not Billy. Another big fumble.
Seriously? You actually believe that? 😂
@@Chasing72 Beiieve what? That he's being sued? Definitely. That Billy didn't handle things well pre litigation? Probably. That future recruiting and player retention will be adversely affected? Right! That few other coaches made so much off-season bad PR? Right again. Well wait......there was Harbaugh. But he went on to win the Natty. Maybe Billy can do that too, you think.??
@@oasisbullterriers You talk like Napier can’t do anything right.
@@Chasing72 My point is that Billy is the Wrong Coach, at the Wrong place and Wrong time. This has created a Negative Synergy where anything that can go wrong has, and will continue to go wrong. Billy might be a pretty good coach at some other team. But at Florida, it's just not working out.
@@oasisbullterriers Well, you have your opinion and the Bull Gators, Boosters and AD, ll of whom support Napier, have a different opinion. Whose opinion do you think carries more weight?

NIL & the portal is ruining college football.
It's getting to the point where I don't give a %#@& about college football.
It's just as bad as a WOKE nfl
YEP. I TOTALLY AGREE. I don’t like the NIL GARBAGE and I Will always say that it’s going to Destroy The COLLEGE GAME. And I don’t care for the Transfer Portal Being Abused. It’s like They are Changing Their UNDERWEAR LESS than they are Doing Now. Yea it’s going to RUIN The College GAME. Because it’s not going to be much Different than The NFL.
I was with you until you started that "woke" thing. Passing on the "woke" stupidity, I do agree this portal and NIL is ruining CFB. It's now just like the NFL were money is the supreme concern and the sport is business vs business. The bowls are useless, the CFB playoff is still a beauty contest and it's become so self centered the players don't give a rats ass about their schools. It's all about the money. Like you, I'm starting to give up on CFB. It's not the same. Not even close.
Maybe CBN broken promises caused the recruiting class to collapse last season.
I would make any payments to rashada require he not play college football

Ha! No doubt. No different than the Urban Meyer years. Very shady!!! It’s Florida
@@KoolBreeze10 the Old " Comes With the Territory " Scenario !
of course Rashada is try a money grab. But also shows Napier keeps making bad choices. Napier needs to go.
Well if it all works out and go’s away UF is still left with the negativity. In my gut I think cleaning house from Stricklin on down may be the best approach for the University. Go Gators!!!
Ali if a media company offered you $$$ and then lied to you and not paying your agreed amount would you sue? UF lied UF lied UF lied and UF looks HORRIBLE here.
Right or wrong, the collective terminated the contract at least a week before signing day. Both sides had a legal right to do so, it happens all the time in contracts. You can call that lying if you want, it was legal. The lawsuit states nothing to do with the 13M contract because it was legally voided. The lawsuit state that Napier and others fraudulently conspired to lure him out of the Miami contract with the intention of never paying him even after there was no contract left.
I do think he was wronged. But you do make him sound like an idiot. I never understood why the Gators and him couldn't come to a compromise before he left Florida. It was in both of our interests back then. I blame that on Napier. I really don't think Napier wanted to win his first two seasons. Let's hope Napier planned all along to win in his third season.
Obviously, your post is the ultimate in sarcasm because it can’t be serious.
I can already see the bolts coming on loose in the ship everybody’s getting ready to jump off the boat and I mean everybody
I’m not sure where you’re looking. I see no bolts coming loose. Have you been paying attention to all the recruits we’re bringing in??
It’s disgusting that your football coach played with that little kid when he knows you could’ve made nine point something million at Miami. The gators are getting ready to have to come off that pocket million dollars and that’s a score right there that tear your football program up but hell it’s already torn up.
It’s obviously you’re not a Gator nor do you have any idea what is stated in the lawsuit. They’re saying that they promised the kid with no intention of ever giving him any money, which is ridiculous since we wound up with no quarterback in that recruiting class.
I hope the rashadas can prove it why so uf can fire billy taggert and don’t have to pay him 25 million dollars.
