@19:45 Wow, I remember that on your reaction to Crusaders of the Lost Mark near the end you said that "I'm gonna hug everyone I know. I'm not gonna tell them why though." and now Spikes makes Garble does that. I wonder if one of the script writers watched your reaction and implemented it into this script?
+Sobi the Robot I um did some looking on that one site "rule 34" and will lets just say there are 8 picks so far of princess ember trust me there maybe more over time but yea they do work fast don't they. so I guise I saved everyone time.
+thegamefree1 - She's a blue humanoid dragon with a tsundere personality. Of course people are going to make porn of her. (I find e621 much easier to navigate, though.)
Actually, a "Gauntlet of Fire" isn't something MLP writers made up.. it's been a term used for a very long time actually in writing and stories. It's basically used to describe having to physically get through something dangerous or perilous, usually involving other people chasing or attacking the person on the run. This was one taken literal due to this gauntlet actually being of fire (for the most part) .. I'm guessing J. K. Rowling used the term "Gauntlet of Fire" as a reference while NAMING Goblet of Fire. (Since a Gauntlet and a Goblet are very different - considering gauntlet can stand for both the literal glove or the symbollic trial and a goblet is, of course, a fancy cup) Also, these weren't the first time regular bats were shown in the show - During the "find a pet" song for Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy shows Dash a bat and the bat even competes in the race to be her pet. :) (One more thing to answer - The Passing of the Scepter to crown the new Dragon Lord is only when the previous Dragon Lord decides to retire. It could be annual, it could be a decade thing, it could even be after a new millenia - it just depends on when the Dragon Lord decides to retire and pass the torch [Hence his name; Lord Torch - as a play on names])
+Kayter Tot "Panda" Thanks for explaining that, it really bothered me that so many people seemed to think this episode was an intentional Harry Potter Reference. I mean, I'm a Harry Potter fan myself, but I still think that's kind of a stretch.

In this video, you had a few questions on the dragon lore: 1. If the dragon lord summons every dragon, why isn't every dragon from the entire world there? Well, as you may know, there are different continents, there is Equestria which is like 50% or so of the entire planet, then you have 2 sections called The dragon lands and The Griffon kingdom. No dragons live in equestria, nor the griffon kingdom, they only live in the dragon lands. So, every dragon that was at the meeting was all the dragons in the world as they live on the same place as every other dragon. 2. If Garbel became king, you said that it would be a perfect plan if he attacked all the egg nests of other dragons. Well, since all dragons live in the same sort of country, then the dragon lord cannot attack their own. That wouldnt really make any sense really. 3. You asked why didn't twilight just attack Garbel when they where spotted? Because, they where in the dragons territory. If you was part of the goverment and you went on the other side of the border, you would have no power whats so ever as you are on another country's territory. For a normal pony, it would of been fine if that pony attacked as it would most likely be killed by the dragons, which would of had no impact as the other side had no power of it. BUT, if a king/queen or a princess from 1 country go on another and start attacking. Doesn't have to be someone special, they would then seek war and start one. Like if the dragon lord where to go to equestria and start attacking, it would start a war. That's why twilight did not attack as it would of been a act of war. 4. The dragon who holds the bloodstone controls all it's power. So, if 1 picks it up, but then another takes it, the power is switched to the other person. Ember didn't become the lord because she was royal blood, it was because spike gave her the power. Usually however, if spike where to not give her it and continue he's rain, he would most likely of become greedy and not give it away to anyone. The lord didn't want Ember to partake in the race, as usually a king looks for a strong, giant dragon as their son. But he got a wimpy girl in his eyes, so he didn't want her to become the lord as it would be embarrasing to other dragons as ONLY a Male dragon should hold the crown. BUT hasbro isn't a feminist so, they made her the lord of the dragons instead.
Huh, weird reaction but, I'll take it, even though you have product placement in there somewhere you just had to eat. I know other people are gonna say that this episode is the best episode of Season 6 and that this was their favorite Spike episode but through all of my hopes and expectations that this episode might suck for me, I thought the episode was OK, for the most part. I could be guilty of saying that I was expecting more out of the "Gauntlet of Fire" as it does lend itself to pretty awesome action scenes and world-building as both of those scenes were visually appealing. I wanted more of that! Instead of having just 1 challenge, why not 3 challenges to increase the tension, depth and the drama of the story while still having Spike rescue Ember along the way? And I do understand that it's a 22 minute episode to squeeze all of that in but it has potential! I feel like after I was expecting more, I feel like we got the best we had in this episode, not too much, not too less. I also know EVERYBODY is going to ship Ember and Spike together (SpikEmber forever). I FEEL like I'm the ONLY reactor who has ever made the comparison to Spyro the Dragon and NOBODY else has. Then again, I've only seen 6 reactions so far (not the best ones) to know this going in but, hopefully, I can find a reactor who spots the same thing I see! WOE IS ME. I assume Ember is around her teenaged period, hence why she has more of a flexible body and more brighter in tone. Can't really imagine the ship going together though, unless Spike has this weird transformation thing where he actually forms into an ACTUAL dragon after realize who he was meant to be all along. However, in a world where we now have 5 princesses, I would like to see more of Ember, possibly in the finale of all episodes, to redeem the relationship of Ember and Spike and just to answer to the desperate shippers. The designs of the dragons are pretty cool too and I do like that kickass fight around the 3rd act as it what made me REALLY get invested in the fight. I haven't really seen much of that since the Season 2 finale and again, I hope to see more action scenes in the Season 6 finale. But the only problem I have is that the story, again, was predictable as I knew Spike was going to give the scepter to someone else anyway and go back to Ponyville like normal (just like Dragon Quest). We all KNOW he's not going to stay in the Dragon Lands, not this early on, anyway. But if there's ever going to be a FINAL episode to tie up loose ends, Spike will be let go to where he wants to be. Sounds sad now that I think about it. But like I said, OK episode, not the BEST Spike episode I've seen nor the worst, it was just around the middle for me. But at least we get more Spike episodes in Season 6 so, there can be opportunities to top this episode in particular in how awful or good the next Spike episode will be. Only time will tell...
I noticed that when she's around spike is like a 180 turn around in her personality. I can't believe I'm saying this but is really friendship that powerful to where can actually change somebody's entire personality. butt there was definitely a lot of Harry Potter references in there especially with the title and every single trial was similar to the one in Harry Potter what an it just a different kind of way.
Jay Spradley I guess you're right about that and all the other characters that got taken down but I still think Discord wasn't really showing his complete abilities when he got taken down
After last week’s mediocre episode, I was hoping for something good. After last season’s atrocious treatment of Spike, it is nice to see this episode show him as the hero he is. This episode is about Spike showing his stuff, and showing that it takes his strength, and his tenderness and brains to save the day. Honestly this episode is Dragon Quest done right. This episode shows how it isn’t about brute strength. Nor is it about just brains. You need a balance of both! It shows that neither gender’s stereotype is superior. Instead it shows that it takes a balance of both brain (the female stereotype) AND Brawn (male steiotype) to accomplish goals. Top it off with good jokes, and more info about Dragon lore, this is a fantastic episode, that honestly ended up reminding me of Mulan at quite a few points. This episode is 22 minutes of action, humor, and heart. This episode’s moral about how it takes a balance of strength, brains, and care for others. This is the true heart of the episode. Spike is in his best characterization yet, as he is willing to risk his own life to save his friends, and attempt to bring peace between dragons and ponies. Also, the new character of Ember, and how genuine she comes across. Spike actually accomplishes something, and willingly gives it up. Plus Garbel having to give every dragon a hug is a wonderful punishment. This is hands down the best of the season and an easy A+, and one of the top 5 episodes of the whole show! It isn’t all about being strong it is strength and heart. I love it! Rarity and Twilight gave us great humor as well.
Hadar Pohl i think spike need a huge development and not be the sidekick anymore... I was thinking about leave him dragon lord and make ember like his second in command so that while he is in Poniville she rule the dragons... then when some problem with the dragon arose he go back and save the day without the pony or maybe like this with one or two
"It smells like cow shit in here"
