  • When you suffer a stroke, time is of the essence. Your brain begins to suffer irreparable damage soon after oxygen stops reaching its cells. To know what to look out for, neurologist Carolyn Brockington, MD takes us through some of the warning signs and indicators that each of our five senses can offer for identifying a stroke.

I had none of these symptoms when I had my stroke last year, all I had was a bad headache. It was a rare CVST that usually only happens to women under 50. I want to mention this because I had no idea that a headache could be a symptom of a stroke so I didn’t get it checked out so if you have the worst headache you’ve ever had you should get it checked out! I was unconscious and without care for 5 days but a year later and I only have minor weakness on my left side and I’m back to all my regular activities.

@@celineuwiduhaye6835 I still have a bit of a clot but my doctors believe it is as small as it is going to get. I’m still on a blood thinner way after most people would have ended it, because my chronic illness (which was one of the 3 causes) has the potential to cause another stroke.

Thank you. I've started getting TIA since last year and already suffered about 8 such attacks. Each symptom and sign is so accurately described. I'm on heavy medications everyday but i can now share this with my family to help them understand bettee exactly what i feel when the stroke hits.

Is this for women or "people" which usually means males....
