- I'm dog-sitting a big bad city bulldog who is use to riding the elevator to get downstairs. He's not scared of much but going down a lot of steps and well, maybe the vacuum. He can go up the steps with no problem but he can't figure out how to get back down. Watch him try. Contact: celestestudios@gmail.com

Omg too cute/funny! I have 3 huskies and the alpha can go up and down the stairs, no problem. The other 2 can go up, but have to be carried down because they cry and howl so badly (and they are STUBBORN and will not budge). They're only 4 months old, but they're already getting too big to carry - they're going to have to learn sooner rather than later.

The vet told me that going upstairs is good, but going downstairs can hurt their back ( especially Bulldogs/ dachshunds)

My DDB does NOT do Stairs either it has to do with how they see them, and if they don't feel safe they will not budge. The Bulldog in this video is drooling not through habit but through nervousness. An incentive (food) will work in most cases. Well done for getting him through this tough challenge Janice :)

Kristin Brinkmann mine don't like the stairs either but will viciously attack vacuums, shovels, lawnmowers, rakes, and brooms for absolutely no reason it's weird I have to put them in a kennel for the vacuum or broom and they have to be inside for the rest or they will tug of war me over the yard tools

No, its a distress sound, my ougs used to make that sound. Its funny and sounds unnatural.

My dog can go up to the second floor and back down but won't go down the basement steps

He's a visiting dog. I don't think that expense is warranted since my other two dogs don't have a problem and now the bulldog can do it like a champ. As in the description, he was use to riding the elevator but now he's good at the steps.

Owners like this piss me off.
There is a reason he is scared to go down the stairs,, hard wood floors offer no traction for dogs and since Bulldogs have short legs that means going down stairs means that they practically have to do a fucking hand stand when trying to go down them, one slip and the dog is going to go head over heels down the stairs and he knows it, he is risking breaking a leg or a hip or even death but this fucking owner cant get it into her head that going up stairs is easy for bull dogs, but going down stairs is entirely different. Put a rug that goes down the entire stair case so he has traction and it will make things so much easier (AND SAFER) for him.
Hey Owner,, why don't you climb to the top of the stairs and then try and walk down them while doing a hand stand and see how eager you are to go down the stairs.
People like this should not own dogs.
