You cant save him, even if you kill the guy who usually kills him, security guy just dies no matter nobody shots him, even blood falls on floor i think. This happens because it is a scripted death, he doesn't actually die from shotgun, i remember there were situations where guy with shotgun missed him, bullet hit the wall on right side, and he still died

Oh God, this video brought back great memories. Hearing the voice of Max Payne and the whole audio of the game brought tears in my eyes. Such a great, great game.
Of all the speedruns I have seen, I feel like this is the one that requires the most knowledge of the game to be accomplished. Awesome run dude, it's unfortunate you didn't do one for Max Payne 2, that would have been awesome to see.
Hey, I wanted to tell you that I truly thank you for everything you've done for Max Payne speedrunning. You certainly inspired me to push boundaries while speedrunning it. I'd love to talk with you if you're active on here!
Because of the skip at 39:18 the guards are still alive. Normally you would kill them but for whatever reason they somehow end up walking into the laser area which kills them. Fun fact: I actually discovered this trick by accident around 12 years ago after holding W down after closing the comic strip. I eventually stumbled upon a speedrun of this game and noticed Ridd3r didn't use it in his previous run so I told him about it to save him time! :)

I'm not gonna spend an hour trying to pick every single thing that I can identify to prove to a random internet person that he's cheating. cut ridd3r some slack. people griping about bugs and glitches should really look up summoningsalt’s videos...he documents the history of certain games’ speedruns and the subsequent speedrunners who defined the history of those games online. people don’t understand I think how difficult it is to perfect glitches and bugs within a game to perform them as perfectly as ridd3r or many other speedrunners do. glitches and warps are accepted for most games and given their own category in speedruns, so it’s not cheating by any speedrunning standard either. what ridd3r did is pretty fucking cool and I’m sure took hours of gameplay...Thanks for sharing this with us. I couldn’t sleep and wanted to rewatch gameplay of one of my favorite childhood games and I got to see this amazing spectacle because of it. Kudos to you and all the work you put into it
in train cutscene he fell - because tre train pushed him, smth like that. So, that was enough damage for max to die. But you can't die in a cutscene, so we have the walking dead, and enemies think that you are already dead
By nullifying the greatness of the story, I now grant you the "Genious" title! Jokes aside, this is really genious. Like if i read the whole Harry Potter franchise in an hour or two. "...then he kills Voldemort, then he arises and again..."
@1Ridd3r Wonderful. I admire your runs, it's amazing what you squeezed out of this game. i thought this game was done with your last run, but you couldn't let it go ;) I will enjoy the commentary ones it has been posted. cheers and keep being that awesome!
@zackyee1 No it's not a TAS, this run specifically took me about 130-150 hours. Obviously I've done other runs etc. and spent more time than that on this game.
Played this so much back when I was coming out of high school/starting college. Don't know how I could get so much done and still play hundreds of hours. Good times.
Sorry I'm not a speedrunner, so I'm not sure about terms like "pro2" and "pro3" but anyway I was referring to the cutscene that appears at 18:13. A jump into the living room will let you skip the trigger for that cutscene, so it doesn't even appear. But it'll be slower than your roll + save glitch. Just thought you might want to know...
@HuskyTdC I was skipping a cutscene. It occurs there because I skip the killer suits at the mona cutscene. The killersuits end up running into the laser fields for some reason.
43:38 I was today years old when I realized Max never shot the two cables on the other side of the rooftop but instead they were cut by the strength of the wind.
@@coreyS33 How could he possibly shoot them from where he stood? The only explanation would be that the snow storm overpowered the two inaccessible cables and cut them. I'd say that the storm played quite a role in killing Horne, because if the wind wasn't blowing in the direction of the helicopter, the antenna would've likely toppled over to another side, missing the helicopter.
Scott Warren Ah OK, so the gate only gets shut if you engage the guys in that last room and then one of them pulls a level which shuts it. If you roll to the exit they don't get chance.
Highlight either the desert eagle or the commando and keep the panel up, when you need to jump, start bullet time and select that weapon and jump at the same time, it's be something like weapon# - - - leftclick+rightclick+space in that order.
Thanks. I don't have any Speedrun projects at the moment to be honest. I did float the idea of a team segmented run (as this run can now be beaten with the start of level save glitch) ages ago when I completed the RTA, but there wasn't any interest.
