Thank you for uploading this diy, very nice and crisp video. I like your diy's very much as they are to the point. It would be nice to give a glimpse of symptoms/issues at the start of the video as to understand more about the issues of the changing part.
It was jst a routine replacement, thats y i haven't given any reasons brother.

There won't be issues till 60k or 70k kms, but afterwards if the filter is clogged, can cause long starting issues and rough engine performance.

Great video👍. I want to change fuel filter on my 1.4tdci ford Fusion. But the store gives me two options of filters. One of them has a fuel heater inside and other is without the heater. How do You know which one to choose?
Normally they give the one without any heater and we use the old one. Nowadays they give the heater at extra cost..donno why.

Hi Bro, I took my aspire 1.5TCDI to a local workshop for 50K service. Replaced fuel filter but after fitting new filter, diesel was not pumping into filter. They switched key ON and OFF several times but didn't help. Finally we had to Pressurise fuel tank to push the diesel through the supply line to filter, by applying compressed air into fuel tank.
They say, this model doesn't have fuel pump neither in the tank or engine compartment.
I was wondering if it's true .
Car was parked on a ramp for servicing. Does it makes the line empty?
Yup when ever the fuel line is disconnected, the fuel runs back to tank. If it doesnot have the feed pump, should externally pump the lines. Once done it stays there.

How to know if diesal filter needs to be replaced? Will there be any warning sign on dashboard? Any method to check through obd2?
There won't be any signs unless its almost blocked. You may get dtc related to low rail pressure, fuel pressure range, regulator range etc. Visually you might experience low acceleration, starting troubles etc....
To make hole for second sensor, can we use driller? But the drilling plastic waste will go into fuel filter.
Just tapping in will be good, drilling wont do harm as the plastic will be filtered.

For second sensor we need to punch hole correct, but while punching that block part will go inside will that create any problems?
What to use for punching hole?
No wrys, it stays in filtered. For punching just a screw driver is enough.

Do you know how much engine oil needed in ford ikon 1.4tdci duratorq
company recommends every 20k km but its safe 30k to 40k. And oil a can of 3.5 L will b enough.

No wrys bro, according to the manual it says 3.8 but 3.5 will be enough, oil will be covering half of dipstick. Any how u must maintain 1 extra L as ford consumes oil so will be needing top up.

I already change the fuel filter bukan i think i didnt install the Water-in-fuel sensor.. will it effect to anything?
It won't affect anything but in case if water gets its way into the fuel line, you won't be able to know.

I changed my Ford Fiesta Diesel 1.4 TDCI Fuel filter. There were two sensor connectors one with 3 wires and another one with 2 wires. I bought a genuine spare. On the 2 pin side there was a seal which needs to be broken to connect the sensor. Everything is done properly. I had to struggle a bit to start the vehicle. It worked. BUT NOW THE PROBLEM is every time I have to start I need to reset the ECM which I am doing by disconnecting the -ive battery terminal and connecting it with +ive terminal for some time. Then only the vehicle starts. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Hi Bro, pls include the clear detail how to remove airlock after replace the filter. it is much more important thing to know as car wont start if air not removed properly. So that we hv to call mechanic to start car...
hey there bro, if the bellow isn't working have to do it by hands. Just remove the return line to tank, which sits above the filter. Keep a pan below, press the bellow with open end, and release the bellow with closed ends ie with hands. Do this repeatedly till fuel comes out and reconnect the line immediately.
priming bellow.... there's a bulb kinda thing to prime the fuel

oh bro if there's no secondary sensor why did you put that hole.? if there's a hole you cannot prime the fuel through the lines.

@@dailyhandsdiy lol..😂 many figos n fiestas have same issue.. I heard there was a recall for this hose years ago but its too late now.. Even dealership advised me not to change it and just topup oil if reduced.. my worry is steering fluid (seems like atf) is corrosive.. I don't want it to corrode wiring insulations n rubbers near it.. too expensive to replace, no gna do it..

I see one Ford ikon 1.3 flair has hard steering. Not very hard. But need some effort to steer.
What are the problems to suspect??
Hi, one could be bad steering fluid or wrong kind if fluid. second worn out suspension thrust bearing or mount bearing. If its ps pump has pressure control valve that could be one. And last old ps pump. As time goes companents inside wear out and find hard to build up pressure and thus hard steering. As ikon flair is old model main issues could be either fluid or old pump.

Try cleaning the maf and also check egr. Nxt thing will be vaccum leaks before turbo inlet line and after maf sensor. Bro first clean maf and see.

Yup its same 1.4 tdci same for fiesta. Oh for European models they neglected the priming pump. Here you need aditional priming pump which is to be connected to return line to prime. Or for quick, flip the rear seat, there you can find the fuel hoses, from those remove the return line suck the air out till fuel comes. But be sure take care.

2.5 is a bit high. near 2 will be optimum if no other issues.

Was that sensor same as in video? If yes then it should fit perfectly.
First one should be fuel pre heater and second should be water sensor.
Why do you have to punch a hole in second sensor hole ? There is no second sensor connecting to this … only one sensor when taking it off this is really confusing as you don’t show it either 🤷♂️
Some model of fiesta doesn't have the secondary sensor...so the filter is manufactured sealed at that hole. In my car the sensor is given. So have to punch the hole inorder to fit the sensor.

I have driven upto 70k kms.. haven't got any troubles. It depends on the fuel quality, can't say. Its good to change it at peak 50k km. Its not that costly too.
If it starts clogging, the prime symptom will be hard starting and engine Juddering.

This can be a reason for bad filter but also, there are other reasons related to the same symptom, bad maf sensor and failing crank angle sensor. Need to confirm first.

If you mean the high pressure pump, then its on the timing side, "the left side".

Diesel filter won't make much hustle and its changed as a routine maintance at 30k to 40k km. but it won't harm less than 60k to 70k kms.
So if you are living in cold regions, air filter should be checked as the moisture will make the filter go hard and make the air suction harder.
How much is your car run.? Black smoke can also be a reason for cloged maf sensor nd sticking egr. Both should be cleaned at every 50k kms.

Sir for tightening the sensor u used adjustable spanner..The smaller one is I think 22mm which I have while another one required 30 mm...so for 30 mm can i use the ring spanner? I mean will there be space to use it or we need open ended spanner only? Thankyou
Ring will fit, i used adjustable bcs it came to my hand first, n became lazy enough to find the apt one, so... 😅

Timing belt is suggested to replace every 8 years. But that too depends, you could check the belt if it has cracks. if you see cracks jst replace it. or let it run for another 1 year.

Nothing, its for extreme cold climates. If at extreme cold climate car may not start or take time to start.

That's weird, ford 1.4 do have a hand priming bellow as it doesn't have the feed pump to supply fuel.

Bro i asked from inside cabin or from engine bay, theres a small spring with clip on clutch pedel, that might go wrong.... And if from engine bay it might be something with clutch pressure plate.

no wrys bro it happens, you can simply evacuate the water, just uncrew the water sensor on bottom and let the water out, retorq the sensor. just thats ol.
