You play that pibroch like a piper, and as a piper that is the highest compliment I can give you.Your urlar interpretation is much better than the one notated in Dow... subtly complex flourishes while also being emotive. You have the musical magic of the masters of our culture and tradition.
To such music, such comments. And I really had felt a wish to be right there when this performance happened. You play beautifully, Brendan, go on and make our world shinier!!
@@mikesoule1352 Oh , that’s life, maybe I’ll be able to get another harp in the future, although I’ll be a beginner again at that point, haven’t played for four years now!
Hi Rhiannon, yes you are welcome to use the video, I'd be delighted, send me a link to your blog. I've actually recorded the full version for my CD but it's not quite finished. I first heard it played by harper Violaine Mayor on her CD Strujen Haleg. I've also heard it played by harper Ann Heyman. It is I think actually a fiddle Pibroch, I got the music from Daniel Dow A Collection of Ancient Scots Music:)
Hi Hildegard, I don't know if it's available to buy, but you can find it on the website The Session, go in to tunes and type it in. It's not exactly right but I can give you the corrections:)
@Brendan Ring wait, what happened to your harp? I know there is a huge waiting list and to even contact them it's impossible. I just re strung my 32 string yesterday. I had to make all the z toggles by hand. Not fun lol.
Just purchased your album "Cumha" on itunes...brilliant playing and enchanting music.
Thank you so much!
Thanks you to too, glad you liked it, it's actually a magic harp, it does all the work, I can't play at all!

Just saw this, thank you SO much!
If I were one of those trees, I would bring flowers to hear such music!
Thanks Dorottya, that's probably the nicest comment I've ever had:)

Absolutely beautiful, thank you Brendan....
I first heard Alison Kinnaird play this about 35 years ago. And excellent rendition -- thank you!
Thank you very much! That harp no longer exists, it burnt in a house fire, glad I made these videos!
@@brendanring24Oh! That hurts my heart to read! 🥺💔

Lovely.
Awesome! the sound brings me back to Celtic and Druid times of long ago. Beautiful. :-)
Thanks very much Mario!
Do you have any harps for sale still?
I am not much into most earthly sounds or music, but i like that :)
You play beautifully! What harp maker made that lovely harp?
jeterart William MacDonald, Isle of Skye.
He also has a UA-cam channel.

Very nice piece. I see that you're using Alaska picks in this video. How do you like them?
MacDonald harp? Great tune👍
Thank you. Yes, William MacDonald made it, although sadly it no longer exists.

@@Dreoilin I believe it was destroyed in a house fire.
