My fingers and nails are mildly clubbed. I first noticed it 5 years ago (it may have existed before). Now I am 22 and recently someone told me lung cancer and congenital heart disease are the most common causes of it. Can I have any of those diseases?
Hypertrophic osteoarthopathy can be due to several reasons including adinocarcinoma of lung or any other malignancy, fibrosis or any congenital heart problems or several other reasons including Tuberculosis, Thyroid problem, hereditary factors and so many underlying reasons. So it’s better to identify primary or secondary clubbing and to rule out risk factors using chest CT ( lung cancer), electrocardiography, blood test and other physical examinations.. Better consult a physician and make those tests if necessary and reasons vary from person to person. Take it a positive and rule out all risk factors and keep move on. Don’t waste time by asking questions through UA-cam videos as they generally never reply back.
