  • In this video, I will teach you multiple options to counter the Jab when you have slipped outside their punch with your head and hands.
Properly slipping the jab not only helps you avoid getting hit but also sets your opponent up for effective counterattacks.
When your opponent jabs with their head up high, it creates an opening for you to exploit. As you slip outside their jab, throw a powerful cross over the top. This counter is effective because your opponent's elevated head position makes it harder for them to defend against a high, straight punch.
In cases where your opponent jabs with their chin tucked down, a different approach is required. As you slip outside the jab, throw an uppercut to lift their head. This disrupts their defensive posture and exposes them to further attacks by lifting their head. After the uppercut, follow up with a combination of your choice. This could be a series of hooks, crosses, or even another uppercut, depending on the situation and your preferred fighting style.
The roundhouse kick-off of your left leg is a versatile tool that can target multiple areas when you slip. If you're staying long-range, aim for the inside of their leg to disrupt their balance. If their elbow is out, target the body for a solid, impactful strike. Lastly, many opponents tend to drop their right hand slightly when they jab, leaving their head vulnerable. In this case, aim your roundhouse kick high to connect with their head. This requires good flexibility and timing but can be a fight-ending move.
