Thank you, Jordan, for documenting this ever changing, evolving slice of americana. It seems as if we as a culture have devolved and have become degraded. Newer is not always better. California was a beautiful state and a jewel at one time. No more. Very sad.

There are actually a few hundred left, if not more. I went to Los Angeles last year and took pictures of a few dozen. They're on Hollywood blvd and downtown Los Angeles on Broadway. I'm sure there's more in other areas of Los Angeles

That’s how they did things in LA. Tear down and rebuild. Bunker Hill was a good example. Lots of old Victorian homes. Razed and modern sky scrapers built.

Great vlog's Jordan, my girlfriend and I, now wife of thirty years, used to live in an apartment on Sycamore off Hollywood Blvd. down at the west end of the walk of fame. my wife worked at Fredricks of Hollywood as a salesperson, and I worked as a carriager for musicians and bands, moving equipment and setting it up in studios and clubs around LA. We both loved Hollywood, we're originally from San Diego, my work brought me up there so much that I decided to move there in 88', my girlfriend came with me. We loved the nightlife, clubs mostly, but also the great restaurants, we frequented Browns, Snowhite's and Musso and Franks, all as you know on the boulevard. We loved learning about the history of Hollywood from your vlog's, the thing we did not know. We moved back to San Diego in 90', bought a house, got married, had a couple of kids, we do have fond memories of our time in Hollywood, thanks Jordan for the memories.

What can I say, your old Hollywood vlogs are my favorites though I enjoy everything you do. We had a great dinner at Musso & Franks last year. Had drinks at The Roosevelt. We also ate at Miceli's which is right around the corner from Hollywood Boulevard, and says it is Hollywood's oldest Italian restaurant and Frank Sinatra's hang out. The original owner's son sat with us for about 10 minutes and told us the history of the place, and said his parents were the ones that taught Lucy how to twirl pizza dough for that famous episode. Yes I was in Hollywood heaven. LOL.

My stepsister lived in Hollywood for over 40 years as a singer and it wasn't too bad, she put up with some the crazies and the homeless were not as bad as it is now. But what made her moved up north to Grass Valley was seeing the Hollywood that used to be disappear and the trash that you showed walking down the street is what made her say " that's it!"
So sad to see Hollywood as it is now, I hope one day it gets back to way it used to be but only if the local government and community do something about it. Glad you're in better area Jordan and keep up the great vlogs!

It's always cool to see the Chinese Theater ( 4:42) . Mary Poppins debuted there in 1964.
35 years later it tickled me to have a film that I myself worked on "Iron Giant" premier at that same theater in 1999.
It makes me smile every time I see the chinese theater, I think back to that day.
Thanks for the vlog. Always a treat. :)

At 6743 Hollywood Blvd. was the famous Pickwick Bookshop (operated from 1931 to 1995). It was THE bookstore in town, and later became a very successful California chain. I worked in the Carlsbad and San Diego stores. In the 1970s, the Hollywood Blvd. store was managed by a Mrs. Storm---a wonderful lady whom everyone admired and liked. Her handsome son Michael Storm was the star of the popular TV soap opera "One Life to Live."

Of all the remnants of Old Hollywood that were destroyed, the Ambassador destruction has to be one of the biggest black eyes Hollywood has ever given itself. I remember hearing a description of Gloria Swanson once when she stood in the rubble of an old, demolished New York theatre that premiered her movie "The Loves of Sunya". It said she was "...the last symbol of Babylonian splendor in a now vanished Hollywood". I wonder how many of the people that walk down Hollywood Boulevard have ever heard of or seen a movie of Estelle Taylor, Rod la Roque, Vilma Banky, Dorothy Sebastian (so beautiful), Anita Page, Conrad Nagel, John Gilbert, Corinne Griffith, Claire Windsor... Remember in "Sunset Boulevard", "...they smashed the idols..."

Glad to see how very much of old Hollywood Blvd is still standing. The period photos are a real treat. Thank you for documenting this on one of your very last days living in Hollywood. The end of an era. But really, you can live almost anywhere to do what you're doing. (And the tent-dwellers has got to be frustrating. I can't believe the city/county lets that go on.)

I spent my summers at my great grandmother and my grandmother and 2 great aunts house on 6734 Selma Avenue . It was a duplex but was set up multi generational. When I was really little my step grandfather worked at Diamond Jim's restaurant on the Blvd. My great Aunt Jane Sager was a famous trumpeter who taught Herb Albert to play the trumpet and he frequently visited her at the studio on Srlma behind the house. So many memories there and on the BLVD. Sad to see most of it gone. I spent every day wandering around there by myself. It had changed 20 years ago when I was there. Thank you for sharing this

My last night I had dinner at the little Snow White Café. Fell in love with the waiter but don't think he knew. Anyway, I figured with all the new building of the Dolby center, and yes it was originally the Kodak, that the little Snow White Cafe would have been demolished. What a thrill when you stopped and told about it's existance. That truly warmed my heart and memories. Thank you for all the new vlogs as I continue to enjoy the old ones.

Thank goodness they haven't destroyed the Chinese Theatre!!
The city should have landmarked everything and preserved the history of Hollywood.
It is so sad to see these ugly modern blocks and shopping centres replacing the beautiful old buildings.
    Progress?
    I think not!!!
Thank you Jordan for showing us how Hollywood used to look.
I am an Old Hollywood fan and have visited several times. I can never get enough of the Old Hollywood history.
    Great vlog.
    Well done!!

Knickerbocker Blog was wonderful, Heard many stories of Elvis there from an interview I did with George Klein years back, great to see it live.

I lived in Hollywood from 67 to 72 as a teen. Use to go to movies at the Hollywood, Saw Patton at the Warner, Wow, looks run down today. There were to movie houses around Hollywood and Gower one on the north side was called the World and I believe the one you showed was called the Pix in 1967. Don't know if it still there but there was a place on Vive St down by the ABC studio called the Hollywood Ranch Market. It had to say the least a colorful history. Anyway I loved seeing the old neighborhood. Thanks.

I attended classes at Lee Strasberg on Hollywood Blvd during the 70s. We usually ate at Snow Whites which was a greasy spoon at the time.

Hi Jordan, what a shame the Garden Court Apartments went, I bet they looked so lavish inside. What lovely stone architecture on the Hollywood First National Bank, you don't get nothing like that now on the new faceless buildings of today. The Montmartre Cafe still looks good. WOW!! The Paul Delongpre Home, what a stunning property!! Lovely seeing the Jahster taking it easy. Great vlog Jordan.

Hello Jordan, I really love watching your videos. I spend lots of time in Hollywood. Love all the history. Thank you. It's awesome to know some facts about the historical buildings and about the celebrities that were and still are, some of my favorite actors. Did you recently relocate out of the city? I haven't seen all your videos of late. Happy 2021 Jodan and Jah.👣👣👣🌴🌴👣👣🌊🌊🏄‍♂️🌊🌊🏄‍♂️🙂🙋‍♀️

I enjoyed going to C.C. Browns as a student at H.H.S. in the late 1960s. My late mother also had her ice cream sundaes there in the 1930s. I was very sad when it closed.
