My great uncle is also buried here, along with one of his crew. T/Sgt Prescott C Piper, 775th Bomber Squadron, 463rd Bomb Group (H), 15th Air Force. Flying in Pete's Playhouse (42-31804), out of Foggia, Italy. KIA May 10, 1944, near Pottschach, Austria. Gone, but never forgotten.
I make it a point to visit our military cemeteries. I just returned from Europe where I visited the ABMC cemeteries in Florence and Luxembourg. Without a doubt, these places represent America and its servicemen and women to the highest degree. These are first-class memorials that should make every American proud of their country and the sacrifices given for her. Honor and respect were two character virtues that our greatest generation demonstrated in spades. I can't say the same for our current crop.
My Great Uncle, who was a Radio Operator on a B24 that was shot down 06/08/1944 over Lyon France.. after the War, He was re-interned here.. took Our Family 6 decades to find that out..The Commission does an INCREDIBLE job listing the names in Every Cemetery! My parents got to visit The Ardennes cemetery and said that it was Breathtaking!
Thank you to all troops that gave their lives to protect us… I’ll pass on your legacy great uncle Lt. Joe Cisar… Rest in paradise, all never forgotten. 🙏
I must visit this cemetery, to honor these men and my Dad - Frank Freeman Lee, US Navy
Great video. My great uncle is buried here. I was lucky enough to visit this cemetery in person. It was an amazing experience!
Peace from Belgium
