There’s another parade coming up in two weeks on Saturday February the 12th at Ybor city is the Sant’ Yago knight parade at night !!
I think that is the parade I went to in 1977 because it was at night in Ybor City. I did not feel unsafe there.

We finally found the ship! So glad other people remembered we were looking for it lol! It was fun watching this back, you caught a lot of things I didn't see, like all of those garbage trucks! I do not envy the people who had to clean up the city after that event............... thank you for including my Ted Talk on the importance of including space pirates in these festivities. The people need to know! "We've got about 30 more minutes until we see some Jose Gaspar...." haha, if only! -___- EWWW the covid boat LOL! That is hilarious you caught the person grabbing the shot needle like that. Hilarious and nauseating. Seeing the boat with all of those boat escorts and with it firing cannons constantly, that was easily the coolest part of the day. I'm glad I got to see it like that! "theres a bunch of pirates here , is there something going on this weekend?" LOL! I didn't hear you say that! Oh man, looks like you found some friends on your solo journey haha. PAPA JOHNS AND THE PORT O JOHNS!!! LOL!!!!!! Omg, that dude was hilarious! This is definitely one vlog where the people should be happy they don't have smell-o-vision :P You found a good spot to see the parade. Not that I really wanted to keep walking, but I had a feeling we should have kept walking from that spot.... Wow, you saw quite a few floats! Good job! Seeing the homes was cool, that was actually quite a happy surprise you were able to show everyone some of the houses and give an example of how people decorate and go all out for this event. Awww, youre welcome! Thank you for letting us dip out a little early! Omg, we all look battle-worn at that Starbucks LOL!! Like we have seen a thing or two, and I guess it's because we had! And if anyone else is reading this, be sure to check out Brad and Amanda's work on Amazon!!
All in all, it was an experience, glad we did it, now lets never speak of it again.

Yeahhhhhhh Gasparilla!!! Haven’t been since 2006 due to being out of town every year for work but I miss it and can’t wait to head back for some swashbuckling fun!

Thanks for vloging this and the parade. I wanted to go, but just to cold for me. I have seen the ship before but not the festival. Looked very crowded. Even though it was outside and I am vacinated, I would still be a little concerned, about covid. Maybe a good choice for your friends to get out when it got crazy.

I'm glad that you, after 18 years, got to experience the Gasparilla Parade of Pirates. This one was actually a bit tame compared to previous years. Probably due to the cold weather forecast. Gasparilla is at its heart a celebration of Tampa. It's an honor and a privilege to be involved in Tampa Krewe life. Now you need to join us for the llluminated Knight Parade in Ybor City in two weeks! That's the second major parade of the krewe parade season and it's many peoples' favorite parade.

It’s been YEEEEEEARS since I’ve been to a Gasparilla Festival! I lived in Tampa when I was younger but I moved in 1999 so I’ve never been to a Gasparilla festival since and I wanna start going again

Watching your video I wish I had gone yesterday. I went to it once in 2004 when I first moved here. I remember it being really fun. I say I am going to go back every year but yesterday was just too cold to really enjoy it fully.
I am glad you all had fun watching the pirate ship come in. I lived in the Tampa area for 4 years but never went to see it come in. I did see it when it was docked. In 1977 my husband came with me to see my niece get married in Tampa and we went to Ybor City when there was a parade there. They threw a lot of candy back then and it was better than beads-lol! I think Cris and the others were smart to skip the parade. I was somewhat worried about your safety at times during the parade.

I miss Tampa. East Tampa, Clair-Mel. West Tampa Westshore & Kennedy! This was like Mario Head, I never been though. PS don’t play with them bodyguards downtown, we saw a dude get whipped out his pants in front of his girl. Well I didn’t really see it, my partner was like let s go help, I’m like hell to the nawl. Mind my own business, and let’s get the hell on
I did the bleachers. Worth the $65. The amount of beads they threw at you over there made you feel important and top priority haha. Our side had no food service tho so that was annoying for what the money we spent

It’s never been so cold as it was this weekend! Usually tolerable for us in the parade wearing those costumes. Not this year!! :)
