- What is the universal chamber? How do you use it in point sparring? In this I explain how to efficiently use it in a point sparring match.

LOL you sound exactly like my instructor. He asked me, how many points do you get for having a good chamber? Exactly! Lesson learned
The chamber is great because it does allow you to hide what your next move is. Try it out and keep rocking it!
3:30 if you just want to see some badass kicks. #mcduffy #inglewood #kajukenbo #salute #orangebelt
Nice video. I teach this concept myself. It's great for throwing off your opponents and when used in a combo, often gets them to move right into the path of the second kick.
Thanks! Totally agree.
Thank you. I have been working on this for a bit. It's good to see it from a different perspective. I have been sparring for 6 months and 2 tournaments. Need to get better. Thanks for the videos!
Dwayne Volk glad you finding the videos helpful. I utilize every time I spar. Just had two tournaments the past week and was able to secure wins in both. I definitely attribute them to this technique. Keep working it!
Brilliant great insight 👍🏼
...good lookin' out!
I can hear my instructor saying chamber your kicks. BTW, I'm a shotokan fighter.
What can you do against a guy that keeps doing a side kick as defence, and when it's really hard to score points to him? (One thing i tried is, as soon as he puts his food down, attack, but often in this situation i'm too late and he counters with a counter punch.)
It’s hard to say without seeing footage. The two key things that I would look at in a match like that, though, is timing and distance. I would try countering his side kick with a kicking combination and finish your combo with your own side kick. That should help mitigate the counter punch. Oh and keep your hands up while you kick.
Bit late, but I'd say 'angles', don't be at an angle where he can easily throw a scoring sidekick, particularly get outside his kick so it's harder for him to use a punch.
