I miss specials like this where stars can showcase their songs. No flashy distractions, just musicians with talent. Thank you so much for posting this.
@midastouch4323: This is definitely one of Natalie Cole's best songs and one of the most beautiful ever recorded. It expresses her love for brazilian Bossa Nova and her coastal L.A. I can relate to that as I'm from a coastal/beach area too. Try to listen to it next or after Rufus & Chaka Khan's "Destiny"...
WOW! Natalie sings it just as well live as on the album and she looks fabulous. Truly one of my favorites of hers. Wish she was still here making wonderful music.
The majesty of this moment was magical. I was a little boy in the projects of SW DC and I didn't understand how she could look this beautiful AND sparkle AND be so elegant AND pour jazz into and all over this song, but she was a soul SANGER! I was MESMERIZED and this is my favorite song of all time AND my favorite performance OF ALL TIME! Cissy and Anita looking divine in yellow and @AzizaMiller (then Linda Williams), the co-writer on piano. DIVINE!
Natalie Cole never disappoints .I remember the day she passed .I felt as if I lost someone close to me ie.. a mother or sister .Our relationship was ethereal .Wherever Natalie is in this great big universe .May she continue to RIP.. My sweet angel..
One of greatest songs ever written and sang timeless. Natalie Cole was elegant and classy. Rest in Paradise Natalie you are never forgotten👑🎼🎤📺⭐️🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
@@domingoc5951 Linda Williams (Aziza Miller) came with the music/melody and Natalie Cole with the lyrics...a beautiful partnership that gave us all listeners a true music masterpiece...🙏✨️
Thanks for giving us a clean video. I watched this clip before, but it was blurry. Nataile Cole was indeed a "sophisticated lady" pure class and elegance, and those eyes❤
I love this video and song so much. This is one of my favorite songs. My mom use to play this song. She passed away. This song reminds me of her and the good old days. This song almost made me cry because I miss those days. Thank you so much for posting this.
I tell you, NOT ONLY WAS SHE ( NAT KING COLE DAUGHTER), BUT THIS LADY HELD HER OWN. FROM HER FATHER🎉CLASSICAL🎙🎙 MUSIC 🎶 🎵 TO ALL MUSIC 🎶🎤🎤 R&B,SOUL,JAZZ, FUNK, ROCK,PUNK and 🎙🎙🎤🎤MUCH MUCH MORE MUSIC 🎶 🎵 🎤THAT VOICE OF MANY🎙🌹 🎵 🎶 SONGS 🎶🎶🎶🎉SHE WAS (SUPER BAD)🎉 and STILL 🎙TODAY ❤(MS.NATALIE COLE)❤🌹🎤🎙WILL SING YOU OFF THE STAGE😂🎉❤
I remember this song very well from Natalie Cole's television special in 1978, I would cross paths with the song again in its full entirety on the LP record first and tape cassette it second in 1985-1986, then come across present day's UA-cam videos featuring other singers performing this in various styles (including Jorge Dalto and Sheila Ford)-there WAS a video like this one, but it was shorter after the guitarist performed his solo interlude.
If holland dozier holland had stayed at motown instead of leaving and forming Invictus/hotwax records this song probaly would have went to the Four Tops the lead singer Levt Stubbs the lead singer would have sung the hell out of this song!
One of her most underrated songs

Are you saying that's Cissy Houston and Anita Baker baking her up?
@@terkstevens7971I believe her backup singers were Cissy Peoples and Anita Anderson.
