She did it like a year ago for a few videos, but prefers to do it with makeup on because she feels then more awake. I feel like she wants to try it again recently : there was a video not too long ago where she said she forgot about the intro before applying the foundation.

I was so relieved it wasn't the new Colourpop foundation. I haven't seen a single positive review on this one unfortunately. Sucks cause the whole idea of it and the packaging is awesome.

Wait lmao what?!...It literally looked like it was about to be full ass coverage when you first put it on and then it dissolved into nothing but dry patches. No wonder why it's called cake mix sheesh.
Erica Sweeney Jackie Ania made a vid about the cake mix one with primer and on with their primer oil that they make and it makes a huge difference
+donejour if you need a separate product in order for the foundation to even remotely work then the problem is still the foundation. If the primer oil is needed that bad then it should at least be sold with it.
I wish the foundation oxidized like me like that. Mine went the other direction and turned way too light and yellowish when they dried. I had major texture issues too when I tried it on its own. It behaved when mixed to correct the color but I’m not going to waste time on it if the color and formulation are so off. I got 7 and 9. The next darkest shade is too dark for me (5) so it’s a pass for me too, even if they come out with something darker than 7 but lighter than 5 and with a suitable undertone.
I like some of their other stuff but that foundation was a HUGE letdown for me.
GIRL. I mean......jesus christ. what happened? I would NEVER 1. expect this to happen and 2. who would/could you ever recommend this to?! If you have any acne/scarring this would almost HIGHLIGHT it! We know that you’re an honest person and would never go out of your way to tarnish an indie brand, but this is just so unacceptable. Regardless, we love you girl thank you for your honest videos ♥️🏳️🌈

Thankyou! It wasnt just me! Im casper pale, normal to lightly oily...i used their oil as a primer and mixed seperatly and together...had very very similar results i tryed 6 times finally returned...so glad it wasnt just me!

It can be used as a primer or, as I like it, a super lightweight 'foundation'. But note, it cannot be built up to even medium coverage, you would want a concealer.

I hate when the “lightest” shade really isn’t because they make it so incredibly pink toned which darken it. I’m so cool toned, and incredibly fair and I can never find a perfect match due to this issue 😭😭😂😂
Yes. And I hate even more when their "cool" foundation is actually salmony or peachy - which aren't cool anyway, salmon & peach colours are warm-based colours... if it was an actual cool-based pink you could lighten it with with white and you'd at least have the correct undertone even if the colour depth is wrong - it's so much more difficult trying to correct/compensate for an incorrect undertone.
I totally agree with you. My skin is extremely fair and very cool toned, so trying to find a foundation to match is so hard.

Anyway, I have good luck with Nars shades. They are pretty descriptive.

Stand on ur head, spin in circles and then the foundation works.... Ummmm no it doesnt. Lol foundation isnt that complicated. JennPipp of course she’d be excited there’s actually a brand catering to women of a darker skin tone and of course she really wants to see it work. I think it’s more than it just being her friend and wanting to kiss ass. Foundation appealing to poc is something we don’t get so when we see it we genuinely want some good out of it. Does it mean we should lie or do a bunch of shit to make it work? No. But once again she probably really want to see the foundation work. It’s just sad that it don’t.
I just want to point out how beautiful her skin looks compared to a year or two ago! The first time I’ve seen her videos I remember thinking that her acne is really bad, now you can barely tell, you can only see some scarring on close ups. I just love her skin rn

The lipsticks are seriously the most long lasting thing, I actually had trouble getting them off but that’s a plus for me. They were kind of drying but what can you expect when lipstick will literally stay on for 48 hours lol.

So I’m sure someone else has commented this already but, this foundation is kinda picky however it does turn out incredibly beautiful when treated the right way. It needs a good/heavier oil not one that will sink into your skin super easily one that is really hydrating, secondly it is meant to be a waterproof foundation so any water via sponge our setting spray during application will cause it to not adhere properly to the skin. Idk just some thoughts for if you still have the foundation. Love your reviews, I’m a loyal baeritto and hope your having a lovely day😊
I really hate that this foundation wasn't better than it was. My hope is that the deeper shades work really well. I would love to see a brand cater to women with deeper skin tones since so many companies cater more to us with lighter skin tones.☺️ I so wanted it to be great because they seem like such a great company. Thank you for reviewing it. I know not to spend my money on it.

Erica Raths I've heard Jackie is friends with the owner. She isn't the best for reviews anywat, she tends to lay it on thick. I don't buy it that some shades are crap in terms of formula while others are great.
B Shepherd with the kat von d foundation the second to lightest shade has a different formula than the others. Sometimes it does vary depending on the shade
Rebekah Moore I guess a better phrasing is, I've never experienced that. Plus, it doesn't seem like good marketing to have different formulas depending on the shade. There shouldn't be so much variation.
B Shepherd usually it’s because of the pigment used to make the shade. The pigment can also affect the formula, but typically when this happens in a brand it’s only one or two shades.

I haven't seen any good reviews on the cake foundations, but the flour setting powder and the lip products are bomb as heck!
