- Thought I became another statistic with a broken differential in a first gen CTS V, but I got luck this time!

I was very satisfied when that bolt finally started coming out. Good work man
I’m looking at a cts v1 and it has a Saturn sky redline diff is it strong enough for the car? the car is Cammed also
Great video!
You got lucky dawg
🙌🏼
Shouldn't it have disk brakes in the rear? Mine does...
You can see the rotor and caliper in the video. Inside the rotor's hat is a brake drum for the parking brake. Its a pretty common setup on modern 4 wheel disk brake cars.
Same bolt broke on mine. I noticed that it was a 3.42 ratio with an open diff so I upgraded to a 3.91 g80.
V1's all had 3.73 Limited Slip so your original must have been replaced with one from a V6, or maybe an STS.
@@captainamerica9353 agreed
@@gchun21 - you might have to school me here - is your 3.91 a Limited Slip from an SRX? If so that sounds like mighty "short" gearing and why would an SRX have that gearing?
@captainamerica9353 I believe it was an option in the SRX but my 3.91 came from a Solstice.
@@gchun21 - very interesting. It seems every GM had a better rear end than the V1 CTSV. I bet the engineers warned against using the V6 diff !
