Great performance. Very impressive. Your selection of the program was outstanding. The audio was excellent too (unlike a lot of concerts. Hats off to the sound guy.). I'm not familiar with NZ luthiers and I don't know what you paid for the guitar but I'm really impressed. What a sweet instrument! I've been following you for a lot of years and you've really come a long way. Please keep posting concerts and lessons. Greetings from California.
Thank you very much (Richard isn't it?). I chose the pieces primarily because they're amongst my favourite pieces of all time. Thankfully, I'm at a point in my life where I can choose to play whatever I want to play, rather than pandering to examiners or a highly critical audience. I setup the audio before the concert with the help of my cousin's son. I used a Zoom H6 with a pair of matched Rode NT5 mics in an ORTF configuration. I was super happy with the sound and I'll use that setup for anything else I upload. The instrument is a based off Agustin Barrios' Domingo Esteso guitar, and it's made by Rodney Stedall - a Kiwi by way of South Africa retired Optometrist turned pro luthier! Actually, I'm starting an entirely new concept whereby I'll be starting to create courses for beginners, intermediate, and expert players across many genres of guitar including classical, acoustic, and electric. Thank you heaps Tim from East Sussex. I got through it in the end and was glad I didn't chicken out haha. Admittedly, I did add some reverb in post to fatten out the sound a little bit...

Aww Phil - thank you buddy. The guitar is a beauty by Rodney Stedall, modelled after one of Barrios' guitars made by Domingo Esteso. I recorded the concert using a pair of Rode NT5 matched pair microphones running through a Zoom H6 in an ORTF configuration about a metre in front of where I was sitting.
Thank you. I kind of felt sorry for Manny (Emanuel Auciello) after I did it haha. He's such a good sort though and he's an incredible guitarists (it should've been him giving the concert instead of me).

This was just my Rodney Stedall Esteso replica recorded using a matched pair of Rode NT5 mics into a Zoom H6 in an ORT configuration about 1.5m away from where I was sitting. I never used the Fractal for nylon or acoustic because I have a dedicated setup for that using Boss pedals.

Thank you. It felt really good to upload a concert that's for sure. I'm blown away that you bought my arrangement a couple of years ago! I didn't think anyone would because I didn't make a tutorial or play-through for it. I have huge plans for the channel this year, and I've just finished filming a guitar course for beginners called the NBN Guitar Essentials Primer which should hopefully be available on the new website by the end of this month.

@@nbnguitar ok thanks - I’m just struggling to get my nylon sounding good through my AX8 & Fender frfr…without sounding brittle.

@@nbnguitar no I haven’t…my guitar has a condenser, so i run it through a little phantom power supply, but that’s all…
