This week, I went to Victoria Memorial, Calcutta which is a architectural monument dedicated to the British Queen, Queen Elizabeth. My blood was boiling all the times. They came to our lands, took it from us, made us slaves, took our money and made a palace for their Queen! In the second floor, the Gallery was full of the Freedom Fighters who fought against the British Rule. I couldn’t hold my tears as much as I read them. The Unity we had, despite having different religions and languages, Oh my God. This was never about India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or any other country British oppressed. The oppression is same, world wide. All the oppressors look alike. There's no second side of the history. I'm grateful and I can never repay the sacrifices our ancestors made. Thank you. May you be in the place of the highest Heaven.

Being Indian, these two facts struck me the most! 01 We must acknowledge that Tawaifs as a social class were not just entertainers, but some of these women had sacrificed their lives for India's freedom. So they deserve our due recognition! 02 Urdu language, often wrongly seen through communal lenses, is actually a very composite & secular Indian language originated in western Uttar Pradesh. Along with Hindi, it was one of the common languages of people belonging to multiple faiths in north India. Some argue that it was involved in Partition, but forget that the same language had inspired the patriotic energies of our fighters through her strong slogans & rich poems which it should be credit for! So Urdu shouldn't be communalised. Its a common Indian language & let's keep it that way!! Plz do take a moment to think.🇮🇳🙏🚩

What's wrong in recognising their role & their contribution towards India? Why should we not celebrate their sacrifice? 01 We must acknowledge that Tawaifs as a social class were not just entertainers, but some of these women had sacrificed their lives for India's freedom. So they deserve our due recognition!
02 Urdu language, often wrongly seen through communal lenses, is actually a very composite & secular Indian language originated in western Uttar Pradesh. Along with Hindi, it was one of the common languages of people belonging to multiple faiths in north India. Some argue that it was involved in Partition, but forget that the same language had inspired the patriotic energies of our fighters through her strong slogans & rich poems which it should be credit for! So Urdu shouldn't be communalised. Its a common Indian language & let's keep it that way!!

I would suggest you to read about Azeezun Baai, Hussaini Khanum (Bibighar Massacre), Gauhar Jaan, Nasreen Begum (Dandi March), Husna Baai, Vidyadhari Baai and you can read about 'Tawaif Sabha' which was organised by Tawaifs of Varanasi. I never said we should keep them on top, I said we should give them their due, I never mentioned Heeramandi, Tawaifs were in almost every major north Indian city not necessarily Lahore. What's wrong in recognising their role & their contribution towards India? Why should we not celebrate their sacrifice?
Urdu like Hindi is a Sanskrit derived language, Persian words doesn't make it less Indian, if Persian words can reduce the Indianness of a language then would you also question the Indian identity of Sindhi & Kashmiri?? There are lot of Persian words in Punjabi & Gujarati also. By established linguistic opinion, its a fact that, Urdu & Hindi both are Indo Aryan languages originating from Uttar Pradesh. That's why both are Indian. What's their to doubt??

@@anubaral9923 That's Shruti Sharma, my girl is the BEST! she's my favourite since appearing on a stupid reality show by Kjohar to select the next 'superstar' and even though she won, no one gave her a lead role (boo!) but she's been in some tv shows - she was Shayeri in Jadu hain Jinn ka (super funny, and stole the show) and also was in a saas bahu drama Namak Isk Ka, but she had loads of dance portions in that, and girl can dance like a dream. both classical and bollywood. It's such a waste of her talents to be in this show and not even get to do atleast one dance, because she would have eaten up the everyone else
