The cop was fishing, he knew he had nothing to detain the driver for. He was literally pulling anything out of his ass to try and get the driver in trouble for any little thing so he can hold him. I hate these type of cops.
He went to the passenger side to get a "cross wind" hoping for something so he doesn't get his ass chewed tomorrow. Which tells you that videoing these stops are working! 15 years ago the driver would be on the ground cuffed. (White or black) for not answering questions.
Interestingly, there's an argument that the officer did actually detain him when he said that the man was only free to go after he was done with his investigation, despite almost admitting that he didn't have an suspicion of any crime, when he simply said that he was investigating "this." Officers are trained to act like this, too, and it's sad that they are. They're trained to approach basically anybody and everybody that they reasonably can and just start asking them questions about where they're going, what they're doing, where they live, etc. just to try and nab people who have warrants out for their arrest. You might not be detained, but they'll pressure you and not let you know that you're free to tell them to fuck off and leave you alone.

Without asking questions how are they supposed to keep you safe? Police are meant to look at anyone who looks remotely suspicious coz if they cant stop a crime you guys will be all over them for not investigating a suspicious person yet if they do you dont comply even a bit.
chiran basnet Everyone looks at lest remotely suspicious... that is not their job. Read the constitution a few times. Maybe the 4th amendment. Ever heard of “probable cause”. That is not a guy sitting in a car for 5 min. Truth is they don’t want to do real detective work. Rather harass law abiding citizens.
@@rs2543 ok so what are they supposed to do? Without questioning how are they supposed to know if they are threat or not. If you want police to do something after a crime is commited then its fine. But if you want them to prevent a crime its not how it works buddy. You all are making their job sooo much difficult. Look at all these youtube videos where a cop cant even ask a person his/her name or what they are doing there. No wonder you guys have such high rates of crime. If i was a cop there i would honestly leave you all to your misery rather than put my life on line to save you and your bs. Many good cops get frustrated having to deal with these people all day. Also if you think that cop was rude what do you think of the attitute the person who is recording this has? He was an a**hole from the moment he opened his mouth. You think its their job to listen to this bs and not ask 1 question coz they get their salary from tax? Hell they pay tax too.
chiran basnet it’s called Freedom. I don’t think you’ll understand. Our forefathers fought for for us to be able to walk around freely without being being harassed and in fear. As for preventing a crime. You’re right most of their job is to assist in a crime that has already happened. Hence the second amendment. We have the freedoms to protect ourselves. I don’t think the cop was being rude in speech but he was in action.
kuzjoe lol. I was just thinking that. He reminded me of the two teens in Sex Drive. What's up? What's up what's up? Where do you live? Where do you live?
kuzjoe Agreed! Most police officers are on a power trip and if you challenge that perceived power in anyway they pull crap like this. There are some cops that actually want to SERVE and protect who won’t pull nonsense like this but a majority would and do. This officer should have come up to his car and said “Is everything okay, I noticed you have been sitting hear for a few minutes”. When the guy said “I just got off the bus from work and I am about to drive home” that should have been the end of it if the officer even felt the need to approach the car in the first place.
A police officers responsibility is to perform the job within the boundaries of the constitution and to defend the constitutional rights of the people in the jurisdiction employed in against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Anything a police officer does or allows others to do that violate that is traitorous against we the people.

Just to be clear again, no one is doubting that whites get harrassed or killed by cops. It just happens to black more often. Don't distort this comment because you want some kind of argument. Nothing I said was wrong in this comment.
Tecnically i think with harassment it has to happen several times... but he sure is bothering him with his investigation of no crime and illegal detention.
@QUE VERGAS DUDE. That is so the truth. I own a classic muscle car that's all nicely restored and I basically had to stop driving it because of the harassment I'd have to endure. You have a nice car and a regular job, the cops then either get really suspicious or jealous. I've actually had several officers TELL ME that there is no way I can own the car I do from working at a grocery store. On more than one occasion, I've responded with "Yeah? Well if I made the wages of a police officer, Im-a have me a Lamorghini! Just because YOU are a fool with your money doesn't mean that I am." Even white folk get profiled.
The courts did this. They acted like they were doing me a favor DROPPING MY CHARGES after my attorney proved wrong and the police report was false etc. And NO NOTHING was done to the cop that wrote the false report and lied in court... But they did "me the favor"
And there's nothing wrong with parking away from people. I park where the lot is empties so people don't ding my car and so I can just pull through the space or have an easy time backing out.
@Harland Waters Give me one good reason why the cop was holding him up there and stopping him from going home. Oh wait, you can't because he DOESN'T have any reason at all. He said NOTHING that proves the hard-working man doing anything suspicious for criminal activity. Go ahead and humiliate yourself more, boot licker.
One night last winter, I got so mad at my husband that I drove to a nearby closed supermarket's empty parking lot and sat there for about 3 hours, reading, watching videos on my phone, catching up on paperwork, etc. Then I had to call my husband and wake him up to come rescue me because my car battery was drained dead. That totally wrecked the whole point of my pout... Anyway, our police patrol there and drove through many times at about 15-20 mph. They obviously saw me, once I even raised my hand in an acknowledgement wave (old habit from growing up in a small town) - never once did they even slow down! So here's a quiz: Guess My Ethnicity. I wouldn’t tell him. No law saying you can’t park there. Like the man says he just got off work and probably tired so he pulled over to take a break
Shit, sometimes i do that and take a nap before i go home.
Come on now. You need to rethink that bro.

chiran basnet Everyone looks at lest remotely suspicious... that is not their job. Read the constitution a few times. Maybe the 4th amendment. Ever heard of “probable cause”. That is not a guy sitting in a car for 5 min.

This officer should have come up to his car and said “Is everything okay, I noticed you have been sitting hear for a few minutes”.
