Great video sir! Always looking for different food options as I run a 4-month contract (310 sets) from Mar-July with 170 DP's and the rest cages and connis. Since this is a significant amount of sets over a large area I cannot afford to let my bait spoil so Coon caps are used for the DP's (keep moisture and mice out) and 4-oz plastic ointment jars are used for the connis/cages and bait changed every so often. Question, does the catfish food pellets rot? I use a combination of cat/dog and corn food and some mixed with shellfish oil spray or Anise oil spray to add scent and lure.
My dog proof bait is a one gallon empty milk jug.Fill about half-way with dry cat food pellets.Pour a bit of salmon oil in.Put the cap back on the jug and shake it.A half gallon jug of good salmon oil lasts me about 2 years.I agree with saving money in this poor market.
Shoot I use dog food and honey and been doing wonders since I was 14-15. I’m 24 now. I mean obv I’ve branched and tried things but in a pinch never does me wrong
Just a question on the math? 2 pints in a quart. So how did you go from 94 pints to 23.5 quarts? That would put it at 4 pints in a quart? Am I missing something...
I got a question.... how long , if you keep it in a cool place, out of freezing etc.... does this stuff keep? I don’t do a whole lot of trapping but mainly nuisance trapping on my time off work etc... just a ballpark figure...
If someone has a problem with weight tell them to buy a good digital scale a pint is a lb weigh before & after real simple I take a pic of the product so I can reorder if I like it use the empty plus bait the scent stays with it thankyou .trapper j turned me on to your site
Clint thanks for the great advise. I have a question about the fish pellets. I’ve used cat food in DP’s with ok results, do the fish pellets hold up better in the weather? Thanks Scott Kneeland
You would treat as fish oil. Fish oil does same thing. Keep in mind that was designed for a bait solution. Trappers started using is as a spray in the field. If you are going to use this way, treat like fish oil or add 30 percent glycerin. If you do, not problem. I don't want to add this, because it will cut it, not good for a concentrate for bait solution.

Most liquid freezes below freezing.....
Are you trying to Catch them dead or alive? If it doesn’t matter, Fly bait & a can of coke gives them an instant Heart attack. 😮😅
A squirt of Thai fish sauce works just as good on those pallets
