I grew up Lutheran in St. Paul, so when I moved to LA to be a songwriter, Prairie Home Companion became my sweet Sunday afternoon radio pal, year after year, with its lovely touch of home. Yah, you betcha, I just sang along with Kumbaya & Children Of The Heavenly Father in this one & ran the melody of Abide With Me through my head as Garrison quoted the lyric. So glad he'll keep abiding with us here on UA-cam & the Prairie Home website. Thanks for the blessings, NPR. Keillor's a treasure.
I wonder..., would there be room for the news from Camden Maine? We have the lobstermen, the schooners, the French and Braun Grocery, we have the tourists from around the world, the local pubs, the waterfront, the mountains that meet the sea. we have the ski lodge at the snow bowl, the bike trails, the dog walkers, ...so many stories to tell, would Garrison be thrilled to have a copycat, and would the audience? Always thought i would be a writer, but work got in the way.
The way Garrison tells a tale . He makes it so, that I at least see Lake Wobegone in my mind and those lovely eccentric people beloved by many.

It is a pity they pulled all the Prairie Home Companion episodes from the site. I remember Saturdays listening on NPR at night.
Curious George he still does a pod cast , if I’m not mistaken..
