Great video... again! Thanks Reza! One question: Wouldn't it be easier to store the image binary in the SharePoint list without the double quotes in the first place instead of replacing them in PowerApps and Power Automate each time you need it?
Excellent video Reza! Quick question: this method works for adding a new signature via the pen input control to sign off on the document being generated, but what about a pre-existing signature that's been captured? I have signatures in view mode that were captured with the methods you describe in the video and I'd like to place that signature in the pdf report. I don't know how to call the signature, as adding it through "get item" gives me the binary data and trying to add a signature input to grab the data seems to break my trigger. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks Chris. For your issue, I would have to try it out to provide guidance (pre-existing signature case). I will recommend checking on the forums at powerusers.microsoft.com/ in case someone has done something similar.

I love all your videos Reza. I truly appreciate all the sharing you do. I also have a question regarding the signatures. Instead of getting the signature dynamic content from PowerApps, can I get it directly from the SharePoint List Column. I don't want to damage the app by connecting it to Power Automate should the List change in the future. However, when I get the column data from SharePoint, use the replace function for the '""' I am not getting the image to generate and instead getting the alt. Any suggestions besides connecting Powerapps to Flow?

Thank you for your excellent videos! Question for you about adding the pen input to a SP Form, how would I save the signature to my Sharepoint list since there is no "On Select" option, is there a different action to set the varBlob variable?
This is brilliant... many thanks. The PDF viewer is amazing... I didn't think it was possible to view PDF files in SPO using that control due to authentification issues... that must only be an issue for certain circumstances or no longer an issue?.... I must try to get into using HTML instead of the prem word connector for app outputs... would you have a recommendation on where to source useful HTML template examples?.... would save me some head scratching 🙂
The PDF Viewer works with SharePoint list item attachments as long as they are pdf files. That's what I do in the video. I grab the pdf file and send it over to the control. However there is a lot more hidden magic in it that folks are not aware of. I will be showcasing that next week. Stay tuned.

Hi Reza, thanks for the reply, I managed to capture multiple signatures and save the binary data into different columns of my SharePoint list. My app has multiple screens, first screen is a list of all the records from my SharePoint list, and there are multiple screens allowing people to input names and sign, where the data will also be saved to the same SharePoint list. I have recreated the form following your instruction in this video. After the user submit the form. I would like them to view the result (ie look at the name and signature they have submitted). I have place a view form on another screen to showcase the result, following the steps by changing the Image property of the signature to "substitute(varcurrentitem.Signature,"""","") However, the updated data is not shown when I press the submit button and navigate to another screen. But if I go back to my first screen and click the button where I navigate to the result screen, the data is visible. I also check the SharePoint list, the data i inputed and the signature in binary form are both saved in the list. I'm not sure what caused the problem. Much appreciate if you can help🥹

Great work Reza. Thank You. Now I see that you are storing the html on OneDrive. Can we put html somewhere else like on SharePoint instead of OneDrive and make this solution work as-is? Also How many images we can have it in PDF report? Is there any size limitation like per image / per inspection? Thank you.
You would need to have the html in OneDrive since the OneDrive connector has the action to convert the file to PDF. Once you get that PDF file, you can store it in any data source of your choice. There is a limitation of 2MB for the HTML file content. If you exceed 2MB this approach will not work.

I followed your great video and made it work. Thanks! But in powerapps I want to hide the pen input control if the picture exist. But testing the multiline textcolumn for IsEmpty always gives me true - even though the code is there. My rationale is that I don't want the users to sign again on a form that has been signed, so if the signature has taken place I only want to show the image. Possible...?

I'm creating a form for multiple signatures that take places at different times for approval. How can I stop the variable being reset everytime and overwriting existing signatures. It keeps replacing my old signatures with blank images.
There is no supported way to move SP customized Power Apps form from one list to another. There are blogs that showcase a hack to achieve it though. Export app, modify JSON and then import.

Hi Reza, I have found how to resolve this myself. To display the image on the Power Apps form, I was pointing to a field on the form that was unique so the image would show when filled out. The issue was this field on the 2nd time around was filled with the same date. I.E Employee Number. What I need is a unique identifier, so I am now bringing in the Form ID field which is unique every time a new form is filled out. I have this in the formula and it is working but giving me a warning. 'ID' = Datacardvalue3.Text - it states incompatible types for comparison. These types cannot be compared: Number. Text. Is there a way to get rid of that error? Otherwise it is all working fine
To compare number and text You can either typecast text to Number using Value() function or number to text using Text() function. I will recommend checking documentation on examples of how to use these functions.

I have place a view form on another screen to showcase the result, following the steps by changing the Image property of the signature to "substitute(varcurrentitem.Signature,"""","")
However, the updated data is not shown when I press the submit button and navigate to another screen.
But if I go back to my first screen and click the button where I navigate to the result screen, the data is visible.
I also check the SharePoint list, the data i inputed and the signature in binary form are both saved in the list.
I'm not sure what caused the problem.
Much appreciate if you can help🥹

Also How many images we can have it in PDF report? Is there any size limitation like per image / per inspection? Thank you.
You would need to have the html in OneDrive since the OneDrive connector has the action to convert the file to PDF.
