I have owned this DDC using it's i2s output and it is everything Hans says it is and more. Also I can congratulate the Singxer on it's ease of use and problem free operation. It transforms the digital signal so your dac can perform at it's best. For most systems using the USB input today, you may find the improvement with the SU6 in the chain simply amazing. A lot of the improvement stems from the super capacitor power supply.

Thank you Hans, I now have the Singxer SU6 between my SOtM SMS 200 ultra neo (with SOtM clock) and my DAC and the improvement is quite noticeable. The sound is more dynamic and at the same time more natural and less stressful, which I'm really enjoying.

I just bought one based on your enthusiastic review Hans. I have been driving my Metrum Pavane DAC via a Matrix USB card from my gaming PC for years. I made the mistake of buying a Cocktail Audio X50D, which absolutely made my DAC come to life. I was shocked at the improvement in sound. I know exactly what you are on about. Direct driving your DAC from a PC results in terrible performance. I hope the Singxer sounds as good as the X50D, then I can use my PC again for gaming and music.

Thank you very much for the video, Hans.
It is unanimous opinion that placing a DDC between a computer and a DAC improves the sound.
When we connect a DDC between a USB streamer with noise treatment and a DAC, opinions are divided.
From what I could understand of your systems over the last few years, you only used a DDC, between the Allo USBBridge Signature and the Ares II, with the Allo having a USB with noise treatment.
My question is, is there any sound benefit in connecting a DDC to streamers like the SOTM SMS 200 Ultra Neo or the Auralic Aries G1, which are streamers that are in a higher category than the Allo USBBridge Signature?

Do you notice any delay from inserting a device like this in the signal chain?
I had a Denafrips Venus which internally reclocks everything. Maybe similar to what this does? But weather or not that was the reason, the Venus introduced enough delay that I didn't want to use it for video, or PC gaming. No! It’s not hdmi. It’s I²S which is a different digital audio signal. It just uses hdmi cables for they are of high quality.

So no matter how high end your dac is, still connecting it straight to your PC is strongly advised against.

NO. Always use a DDC, network bridge or network player.

I have a Dell All in One Core I5 computer hooked directly to a SMSL SU9 dac. I run Jriver in FLAC with every thing upsampled to 24bit 192khz. Everything I play from JRiver I have the actual CD and can do an immediate comparison. I find that the sound between the CD and FLAC is almost identical. I can stream at CD quality or High Res off Amazon HD. I find the quality to be near FLAC but I can tell a difference. Do you think I could benefit from a product like this review. I feel I am not hearing any noise from my computer, but you don't know what you don't know. Thanks

It’s not audible as analog noise, it disturbs the d/a conversion and so make the sound harsh, the lows poor and sibilant.

I thought a good dac takes care of cleaning up anything that colors sound?

In reality there are very few DACs that don't benefit from a "cleaner" digital input.
