License should never be the reason of cursing the AN94, as Cod series NEVER use a correct depiction/figure for AN94, but this one really looks disgusting…🤮🤮
@@azuma9051 There was a perfectly fine AN-94 in MW19, this one is clearly a rushed model alteration of the planned AK-101 (5.56mm version of the AK-103 and 105 from MWII). All they did was slap on a vaguely AN-94-like barrel (which doesn't even line up with the chamber!) and screw with the grip/mag placement, and here we are. The HUD even still lists its ammo as 5.56mm, in line with the AK-101.
As for the "AMR9", its level up icon shows the weird extra bottom part as an extra barrel (!?!), so clearly they thankfully decided against that silliness (something planned for a future SG game?) but didn't bother to meaningfully change the model or update the animations.
The Longbow's primary inspiration is the Armenian K-11M rifle, which is basically a bolt action rifle using AK-74 mags. Of course it means 5.45 and not 7.62x39 like in game.
From what I've heard, that weapon was a last second decision by Activision. They were practically forced to be fast, thus resulting in a shit animation.
It's actually a pretty decent 92FS/M9 model (in the context of modern CoD), though making it burst with no attachment options for the 93R slide, foregrip, muzzle brake, or proper 21-round mag is just silly (we do have wood grips and its stock, at least).
I always loved the attention to detail to weapons in MW 2019 and MW2 2023. Reload animation, inspect animation, even unique animation when you're out of bullets. Top tier work there. Kinda sad, that in MW3 most of them are just copy pasted and the new ones aren't that perfect. Dunno if Sledgehammer is just lazy, out of ideas, don't know how to animate or just their budget is not that high since most of their cod games have been bad and Activision and investors are not putting much effort/trust in them anymore. Infinity Ward were always making MW series and now Sledgehammer is making it, like wtf.
The problem isn't Sledgehammer (not mostly), it's Activision with its yearly cycle and the fact they wanted a direct sequel to MW2 done in just 1 year. Even with other studios helping, it's just not enough time. Plus I bet the crunch is taking its toll on the dev team.
its not a matter of license, they can get those for free, its free advertisment after all, companies like KRISS (who make the Vector) have come out and said they'd happily let them. its a matter of california law (where they're based) and general changes in attitude towards firearm advertising in america (look up the remington lawsuit). smaller companies and franchises can get away with it but the next time some kid shoots up a school and was known for playing CoD (like Sandy Hook) there's a fair chance they get sued.
They can't anymore. Not even Battlefield uses real names due to California's new dogshit laws. They think having real names and models in videogames now counts as marketing firearms to minors.
On the animations that weren't ported over from MW2, you can tell Sledgehammer is trying desperately to replicate Infinity Ward's style, and failing hard

@@nesseihtgnay9419A hybrid of the AN-94's barrel and forend with an AK-74M/AK-100 series receiver appears as the "SVA 545". It's modeled with a Zenitco PT-1 stock, uncanted magazine well, railed handguard and full top rails. The in-game model also comes with the side rail mount that is never used due to the top rails.
