The car of my dreams, I just love everything about the DS unfortunately I live in republic of Georgia 🇬🇪 and we cannot bring cars older into the country
Where can I contact this garage as I'm looking for parts for my citroen d super year 1970 I've already spent 5 grand and my car is not even painted yet please let me know thanks
As a kid back then, I always hated the looks of these cars. They looked more like a vacuum cleaner than a car. I always thought they should have a "Hoover" or "Kirby" nameplate somewhere on the body and a long hose attached to it's tailpipe!..... ;-)
It wasn't nicknamed "The Godess", that was its name. It's very amusing to watch the silly Englishman trying to communicate in French by talking like a five year old! 😅 What he should have mentioned is the classic car import tax. I bought a DS in a French village for £700 but then got hit for about a £1000 tax when I applied to register it in the UK. I nearly broke down and cried when the official in the tax office told me that. He took pity on me and reduced down to £600 but remember the import tax if you buy one abroad. I sold mine for £3400 in London but I've always regretted getting rid of it! 😭
There was no need to be an arse about it - some people tend to simplify their manner and use sounds and hand signals when there is a communication barrier. There's nothing silly about. £1000 is very hefty, but £700 of a DS is a very good price if it wasn't a in 'barn find' condition.
The French rarely speak foreign languages, just like the English^^ Les Français parlent rarement des langues étrangères, tout comme les Anglais ^^ Ganz anders als die Deutschen
Of course in hindsight, this is the cheaper ID aka D Super 5 model, not the real DS. Still, a bargain for the condition. Actual DS's fetch bigger prices, still.
@@ragazzi25 You'll notice that on virtually every YT video about the DS, the comment at the bottom of the page is one by a muppet who felt compelled to rush in to say just about the same thing: "This car is so ugly." I'm wondering what there is about the DS that triggers this kind of people. 🤣
That conversation with french guy was hilarious.

Hi ! This is the car with the best design for ever! A my dream since 50 years!A great car!
I spent my childhood at the back of my dad DS. He had a few of them, always blue.
Would love to hear the follow up on this car.
I don't know when this was made but you're looking at having to pay considerably more than this for a DS now. Good examples are going for 30 + grand.
This is a D Super 5, so not worth as much as fully fledged Ds, but agreed it's ridiculously cheap by today's standards.
Mike,
What are the best web sites in France to find reasonably priced DS cars?
Thanks!😊
What Website do you recommend to find a good and cheap DS in France?
hello Mike I like your videos
And your sense of humor

A good deal! Bargain
Any chance you can tie one of these into your grisly tales ?
I am smitten by the "DIESSE " as a mature man . Funny , I thought it ridiculous as a youngster . Talk about evolving tastes .
The man who bought it is very laid back lol...
5000€ pour une D super 5 ( dans un état convenable ) maintenant les prix ont explosés !

I suspect the presenter speaks fluent French and the French guy speaks fluent English, but they figured this makes for better TV...
Wrong....the dropkick "Mike" barely speaks proper English!!.
Affaire conclue! 🤠
A Briton test driving a DS and saying "I have never been happier". What happened to the UK of old? 😂
Horrible prices ... :O Great cars still, they're called 'Iso Kissa' in Finland = 'Big Cat'.
He results in sounds to speak to the french guy

Coming from India where nearly everyone understands English had a tough time in Europe. Communicating..

Citroen, even the name was extraterrestial. Very strange modern car.
In French DS is pronounced the same as the word "déesse" which means "goddess". I think Citroën then chose these initials on purpose.
The moment this car appeared, it instantly left the world of cars behind. Mercedes, Rolls-Royce, and Cadillac were obsolete.
Fly on the carpet
Speak loud and slow, he'll understand lol

5400 Euro???? For a Super5 in good Condition. Normally 15000 Euro in Condition 3.
