If you get some football or rugby socks 2 sizes bigger than your boot size ,soak the socks in boiling water for 10 min , this softens the elastic in the sock and makes it easier to stretch over the boots, then fit them over the outside of your boots ,watch you don't burn your hands ,you won't get any mud stick to your boots again ,and no more moon walking with tired legs ,the socks will last about 5 to 10 outings, I am lucky as I work at a school so I find loads of socks in the lost property 😆

@@HolzHammerSagas might come across showy to some, but for others it is a window into history, one that one might not see often, if at all... Anyway, shame, but I'll keep an eye out for the roman goodies 👍
Just a thought. I for one would like to learn, the procedure when the finds are taken to the government official, who handles such things. (Honestly I enjoy that kind of thing. I know most people would be bored out of their skulls, not me). Glad to see Tasci, if only he could be trained to find old gold coins. I'm thinking if dogs can smell cancer, why not gold? (I tried to train my dachshunds to find paper money. Thinking with such an adept sense of smell, it would be easy. Sadly neither Peggy Sue nor Ali Baba, were inclined to utilize their great gift, for my benefit. I should have started when they were puppies, instead of when they were 4 yrs old.) I always enjoy your videos. Hoping you & Tasci have Happy Holidays. (I know in UK holiday is synonymous with vacation.) Thanks for an entertaining video. Btw Tasci had the attention of the infamous Fluff Fluff, he watched with great interest. Honestly a Shih Tzu could only have been bred to hunt mice, as a normal sized rat would have nothing to fear. Either mice or small stuffed animal toys, he is quite skilled at subduing those. Gil
Hi Gil - thanks for the comment hope all well!!! I am the wrong person to do a video about what happens to "treasure" here in the UK as i have had bad experiences with the whole rotten process! Its not complicated but the system doesn't work don't get me started! Sorry! Dogs can definitely be trained to find paper money why not gold too Tasci has a great nose! (Peggy Sue and Ally Baba and Fluff fluff - great names!!!!) I thought Shih Tzus were originally bred to hunt lions in China!!!! Or that's what i tell Shih Tzu owners ( the very thought sets my imagination running wild!!!) Hope all well with you its about to get very boring Covid wise over here again.... happy Christmas!!!
Addendum: I've already had it. No meds offered, as the powers that be here, have made the meds that are proven to work, illegal.(talk about practicing medicine with out a license). They've threatened Drs with losing their license if they don't "play ball" as we say. To be completely honest the only people I'd been in close proximity to were people who had already gotten the jab! However I survived, & i have indeed been much sicker in the past. Funny when I mentioned one treatment, they told me it was "dangerous" I could die. When I told them I along with 5000 other guys took it, & no one had a problem, they acted as if I was insane. I had to explain, I was on an Aircraft carrier & we had just left Kenya, that it was ordered we take it. Then I told about how it was suggested people take it before going to the Philippines, where my job was sending me. I did so again, no problem. They were upset I knew what I knew. They asked how I got my info, I said "There are other sources for information, other than the main stream media, if you have the where withal to search". LMAO still no help. I've come to see, I was right all along, this is a power play, for "compliance". But at least now I have 95% immunity. Fun Fact: the same Dr in charge of the thing here, is the SAME Dr who was in charge of curing AIDS. (40 yrs $Billions & absolutely no cure or end in sight.) I'll stop.
Hi Diane; I think some people are lucky and have good experiences with their Finds Liason Officers etc... I personally think the whole system is very faulty but I am not pointing blame in fact I think it may be almost impossible to have a system that will keep everyone happy... I still have finds going through the treasure proceess - probably of no real interest to anyone but me, that was three years ago I suspect they are lost. And I had a Liason officer who basicallly refused to see me but preferred I left my finds at her reception and picked them up from there when she was done with them... great people person she was obviously - sorry you have got me on to a real rant now! Prob in the new year now... i want to see first hand what they are like , mano a mano, the few videos I have seen of the people Regtons have gifted them to are not good or helpful enough. Before i let go of the hard earned I need to know its worth it; me old one is doing the job quite nicely at the moment - anyway, have a good Christmas etc if we don't get in touch til then! All the B!
Nice video, so many finds.. and all those hammered coins..
I've been sent to your channel by ' The Dukes Of Derbyshire '
He highly recommended your channel.
Can't wait to see more. 😀
Thanks Daniel much apprreciated! ( and thanks Duke Gareth!) Hope all well with you!
Looking forward to part two! Curious to see what's in the locked cabinet... (hope you find the key) I usually clean and sort my finds right after each hunt. Finds are few and far between here, so it doesn't really take much time. I find researching my finds almost as exciting as detecting for them, so I'm rather eager to clean up everything as soon as I get home. Good stuff goes in my curio-cabinet, all the rest is divided in tupperware boxes... See you on the next episode!
The amount of history I have learnt through this hobby... every time you find something whatever the age it spurs you on to learn about it doesn't it? I never realisee how bad my English History was!!!!! My favourite is Allectus and Carausius; I knew nothing about these two hoods until I found their coins and looked them up - a very interesting period of our history I knew nothing about! I sthe curio cabinet an old/antique one? Hope all well Sir Jon, Happy Christmas if we are not in touch til then!!!
@@HolzHammerSagas Sadly, the cabinet itself is from IKEA... (blame the wife) But the contents are what's important! ;) I'll have to read up on Allectus & Carausius now. Never heard of them.. Merry Christmas, and a happy new year! Wish you all the best. Until we speak again, peace out.
Hi Alex , it all looks good to me mate and a fine collection to even fido looked interested 😁🐶
hope you are keeping well ATB Rob 👍🎄
Thanks Robbie! Hope all well!
Greetings from Canada 🍁, I smiled during this video because Having detected for 42 years, the masses of artifacts can be overwhelming and time consuming when doing the classification. But it’s Damn fun !!
Isn't it just Cando and I'm glad it made you smile! Hope all well and Happy Christmas! All the Best, Alexander
@@HolzHammerSagas and a very Merry Christmas to you buddy , if you ever get a chance there are some Stan Rodgers songs that I know you would like , sea chanting songs ! Looking forward to reviewing your videos during the off season!
Very similar to how I sort my stuff. Good channel.
Thanks On_the_mooch ! Much appreciated and hope all well! All the Best, Alexander
Really good vid Alexander and your home looks to have interesting stuff allover
'all over' are the key words its when it gets out of hand that the red flags are up and its time to get tidying! Thanks for watching Neil - hope all well!
Another superb video, see Tasci chasing that tail 😂. Was looking at that Victorian/Georgian jewellery box my partner would go mad if I put my finds in hers 😂.
keep your eyes peeled - little cabinets and victorian jewelry boxes are not so fashionable these days - i love them but it means you can sometimes pick them up fairly reasonably... and they do a great job... reminds me to bring out another one i have tucked away for part II - Hope all well!
All is well, I have a collection of boxes and musical boxes absolutely love them, shame this weather in the south east is so dull. Have a new permission Coming up shortly so looking forward to that. Merry Christmas
Nice idea I don't have your problem as in my area finding a hammered is not easy must be great living in your area and having good permissions keep the videos coming and have a great Xmas and a great new year with loads of good finds
Thanks Jesse - sorry to hear there are not so many hammered up your way... I have to search quite hard for mine I spend far too much time detecting and avoiding the day job! Hope all well and Happy Christmas too!
A nice selection of finds there Alexander well done thank you for posting and a happy Christmas mate .
Thanks Beano - hope you have a happy Christmas too! All the Best
Great video and nice to see how people sort and store their finds 👍
Oh Alex, you've made me smile with your little heaps everywhere. . I think we're all the same. I will now confidently throw away my buttons. My children will thank you for it as I really worry what they'll make of Mum's 'treasure' when the time comes.
By the way, seeing your fossils reminded me that I found my 5th sea urchin fossil today, all found this year. In our family they're called Faery Loaves.
good name for them Jay - are you in a part of the country good for them? I used to find a lot in Hampshire where I lived for a while ... and where i grew up in Herts there are a few too! Hope all well!
@@HolzHammerSagas I'm in Cambridgeshire.
It's just one small field where I find them, it's very stoney. I get quite excited to spot them now.
@@jayday1463 and you get better and better at it I have been doing it for years and can spot them when they are the wrong way up or just a tip is peeking out!!! 😂
Great to watch. Thanks.
Thanks MC - hope all well!
I think a lot of us can relate to your piles of things
Keep up the good work and keep 'showing and telling' here and on the forums
Keeping it real!
Thanks John - good to mix it up a bit from all that digging there are so many people doing these videos now i think people are going to get really bored of them probably not before time...! It was fun doing this one i am quite looking forward to the follow up - might give me an excuse to go out and buy more cabinets!!! I have my eye on a really good one in a local antique shop but he wants too much for it... they are so unfashionable at the moment no-one will buy it at the price he wants so i just have to sit tight for a little longer and then offer him a fair offer in a day or two!!!! Its fun being a dealer! Hope all well!
Great video 👍pretty similar how I sort my finds out!thanks for sharing
I think a few of us do it like that - great minds! Hope all well Peter - thanks for watching!
Thanks for the insight to your habits and collection! Gosh we are simular! You are not alone, I have lots of piles and pots of finds around, so like you the finds pile up. Keep up the efforts great Vids🤞
Thanks Bert it seems a few people have stuff all over the place and why not - it means you can see it and handle it all the time! Hope all well and thanks as always for watching!
Marry Christmas 🎄👍 hope you have a smaching time and have a happy new year top video as allways allways injoy catching up with ya glad to see your well your brother tezza 👍
Thanks tezza! Much appreciated you crack on with that field of yours with all them roman silvers!!!! Hope alll well!
Well done again young man, you're getting rather good at this 😁👍
Thanks Adrian very nice of you to say so! Hope all well!
Great video love it really enjoy these can’t wait to see the Saxon coin video have a good Christmas 🎄
Thanks very much! Hope all well with you!
Lovely coins. I still havent found my first hammered yet. Only been detecting about 11 months though
You’ll get one soon I guarantee it … when you least expect it and then more will follow…. Hope all well!
3 months of incredible finds Alexander! Another interesting video. Thanks for that. Your system of dealing with finds not dissimilar to mine, though I’d be lucky to have a couple of hammered. Slainte for Christmas 🍷
Glad the system works!!! Hope you have a good Christmas too - lets hope its not too gloomy! All the Best Jim!
Wishing you a Happy Christmas Ally and Tasci!🎅 Love looking at all the Hammies in HQ..Maybe put one in the Christmas Pud 🍪 for Good Luck in the fields 😄 If you ever start an etsy shop selling your less than perfect ones let me know,!!! ⭐Yuletide Blessings and joy always xxxShaz 😊 🙏 🎄
Thanks Shaz! Hope you are having a nice lead up to Christmas!!! xXx
Wow you do have a lot of finds to sort and store!
Think you should be doing "show and tell" events for school history classes, would really make history come alive for young people to see your finds up close. Of course would be delightful if Tasci can come along too 🐶😁
it would be fun to do a bit of show and tell esp if it got kids interested Tasci would steal the show so the rest would be a be a bit pointless probably - thanks for watching Steve hope all well!
Hi Alex, Another very informative video. I place my odd finds in a large biscuit tin and all my coins in an album. Hope you have a most enjoyable Christmas time. ☃️🥂🎄🎁
That sounds very organised! Im in a good position on the cabinets as i can pick them up fairly cheaply on my rounds! Those ones tend to be a bit shabby but they do a job! Hope all well Robert, thanks for watching!
Ha! Brilliant thanks!
Interesting keep them coming
Thanks Stuart - i will - in fact I have started another channel to deal with all this stuff so I can keep doing them - they don't do so well on this one which is a shame... Hope all well!
Omy days. Never had 1 coin. Dogs brilliant you advice is great. All you need now is moi to help film. Wow look at your table. Amaze balls
Ha! Thanks Gavin and thanks for the offer - when I need a real cameraman i know where to come! Hope all well and thanks for watching!
@@HolzHammerSagas far from a real one but would save you hassle. 😆 gl
Fascinating and thank you for sharing, may I ask what settings you use on your xp
Hi Mark hope all well - I generally use the same settings and just tinker with sensitivity and frequency...Hot programme - full tones ( always with the Lite) and I lower Reactivity to 2.5 - hope that helps! All the B
@@HolzHammerSagas thank you for your help
New sub here, Great upload.
Baz.
Thanks Baz - much appreciated! Hope all well and Happy New year!
Subscribed very much enjoying 👍
Thanks Steve! Sorry for getting a bit uppity yesterday you caught me at a bad moment - I do take criticism on board though and you are right now I think about it - there was too much time wasted at the beginning of that vid - I will get straighter to the point in future! I do make an effort to cut all unnecessary stuff… all the best, Alexander
Great to here back from you, after watched a few more of your vids I realized I was a bit hasty in my comment so let's call it quits and happy detecting 👍
Where's part 2.. With the really good stuff? I'd sure like that, if possible please
Marco I don't often like doing the really good stuff as I think it comes across as being a bit "showy " but I am about to do a one on silver Roman coins on my other Channel (which you can find in the banner of this one) hope all well and thank you very much for watching, All the Best, Alexander
Gil i noticed a messge from you which has since disappeared before i read it!!!
Why do you have an issue with the FLO and PAS?
Hi Diane; I think some people are lucky and have good experiences with their Finds Liason Officers etc... I personally think the whole system is very faulty but I am not pointing blame in fact I think it may be almost impossible to have a system that will keep everyone happy... I still have finds going through the treasure proceess - probably of no real interest to anyone but me, that was three years ago I suspect they are lost. And I had a Liason officer who basicallly refused to see me but preferred I left my finds at her reception and picked them up from there when she was done with them... great people person she was obviously - sorry you have got me on to a real rant now! Have a good Christmas and all the Best
@@HolzHammerSagas Oh dear! That's not good at all. It saddens me to hear you have had had that experience. I agree the system could be much improved. Sorry to raise your blood pressure with that question - Best Wishes Di
@@dianejohnston3733 Ha! Thanks Diane- you didnt really! But it is a system I would love to see improved but how? And we have it much better than some countries too - it would have been great to have had a FLO who wanted to chat about the finds and discuss the history not nab my paltry "treasure "for it never to be seen again! well not by me anyway! 😁
Have you seen Gary Blackwell video comparing Deus 1 vs Deus 2, think you will find itn interesting . No Tasci today I don't blame him.. If you don't post again b4 xmas have a good one and buy that lovely dog a nice pressy. I like cleaning hammered as well.
Thanks Dave - they would have been gleaming white silver when they were first produced so no harm in getting them back that way i think sometimes! 😄i will try and get one more video out as i think its a good one but Happy Christmas anyway! All the Best
Thatt was a load of FUN! Thanks! Didnt realize you were an antique dealer, Ive been in the business since 1973. Slowing down with age now, but its still fun. I deal primarily in ephemera and photographs. Di you have an oinline presence or brick and mortar or both? Its nice getting to know you through the videos and was really fun looking at my favorite dog this time around! Hug him for me!
Course I will thanks Dennis, he has to wear the Cone of Shame at the no bet as he has done something to his ear and has to stop scratching it! He is sulking and looking sorry for himself! I have a website it’s www.avwantiques.com - glad to have a fellow dealer here! Hope all well!
