- My Dad thought I needed this presser foot in my life... so he bought one for me! Every now and then, my Dad will show me something he saw in one of my Mom's emails that is sewing related... This time it was for a specialty presser foot that screws onto the needle plate of your machine. This cool little tool is multi-purpose! You can use it to sew accurate seam allowances while it helps guide your fabric under the presser foot on your machine. It's great as a hem guide too. You can also use it to tame tricky fabrics that slide around or curl along the edges! Adjust it for sheer fabrics or thick fabrics like fleece!
Part 2: How to use this foot on any sewing machine. • Cool Tools Part 2: Ca...
The website that he purchased it on was charging $19.99 on sale. I found it on Amazon for less Click this affiliate link to get yours! amzn.to/47k4iJH

Dads. Got to just love and appreciate how much they delight in what we do. Reminded me of the day my dad called to tell me he was going to drive over (70 minutes away). Ok. He arrived and walked in the house carrying a very heavy box with a Juki industrial serger. He was just so excited to surprise me. I’m still using it and still miss him dearly.
That is so sweet, something my Dad would do too! I would keep that Juki forever
My dad was a machinist so, he truly appreciated the engineering that goes into specialty presser feet. I have three antique Singers and he was amazed at the 150-year-old attachments that showed such genius design. When I bought a Bernina, he offered to buy me some specialty presser feet that I couldn't afford at the time. He dutifully went to the Bernina dealer and gave the owner my wishlist. Then, he found out why I couldn't afford them and freaked out at how expensive they were...but, of course, he bought them all. My dad wasn't the nicest man in the world but, when I really wanted something, he always came through!

What a nice story. 💕💝💞
How cool! Thanks for sharing this with all of us. When I saw you demo it, I thought about my Aunt Dorothy who taugh me to sew. She as a quadriplegic with very limited right hand use. Her machines were Jerry-rigged so she could use her elbow on the presser foot. She sewed beautifully!
That is so sweet... Thank you for sharing and for following along with me!
What a nice Dad! Dad's are the best! I miss my Dad every Single Day 💞💝💕
:) Dads are the best! I can imagine, my Dad is 80 years old and I worry about that sometimes ... sending hugs!
Dads are just the sweetest. A little strange, sometimes, but sweet.
hehehe...I can agree with that! Thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing this Amazing Do Dad lol Very watchful Dad!!!Thank your Dad also!
Glad you enjoyed it ...My Dad has an eagle eye for things that may be helpful to us sewers! I think he enjoys looking at sewing gadgets almost as much as he likes look at wood working tool for himself!
Thank you so much for making this video!!! I have been sewing for many years and did not know about this. I used your Amazon link and bought it, lol. Thank you again!!!
You are so welcome! This was a new to me sewing tool too, thanks for sewing along with me
OMG. This is a game changer! I now feel that my quilting will go much faster, and I can effortlessly stitch a straight, consistent 1/4 seam allowance.
Perfect use for this little beauty! Thanks for watching
That is exactly what I thought too. Long strips will be so much more accurate!
Update: I ordered this item using the Amazon link provided above. After 3 weeks, the item is still "being shipped.". Luckily I found another Amazon seller who had this item in stock and delivered it in 2 days. Finally able to work on my granddaughter's quilt. This little item makes sewing perfect seams so much easier and piecing my quilt blocks goes so much quicker. Love it!!!
Just got it in the mail and I am so excited 🥰🤪
Yay, I love getting little bits of sewing fun in the mail.. Hope you love it like I do!
Cool Dad!

WOW - This inventor deserves a Nobel Prize for Engineering. I'm just imagining the number of "what ifs?" that went into its development! I am blown away!

So happy it arrived! I think you'll love it... Thanks for following along with me
I bought this very presserfoot; however, I don't have a hole on my new machine to attach it. Most of us need help in sewing straight seams and I knew it would be just the ticket.
Good News!!! You don't need a hole! Here's a follow up tutorial for this presser foot/hem guide! Thanks for watching
I bought this presser foot on Amazon. Now I'm reviewing how to use it. Can't wait to try it.
I think you'll love it!!
What a sweet Dad. Interestingly enough, I just bought that presser foot. Thank you for the demonstration because the foot came with no instructions. As always, great video.
He is sweet! ... Happy the video helps, Hope you love it,
Very cool edge guide! Thanks for the demo. You're dad is so thoughtful 💕
:) He is!! Thanks for watching!
I already had this one and now I know very well how to use it after watching u ❤
Yay!! So happy to hear, it's a cool tool!!!
Hey, nice find. I love the idea of using it for hems from the front side. Thanks!
Thanks! I've been using it for all sorts of things... I love it! & thank you for watching
Thanks to you and your Dad. Due to vision loss, I now have difficulty sewing straight. The cheap magnet ones do not stay in place, and the heavy duty ones will not work on my computer machine.
:) He'll be so happy to hear! ...anything that can help you sew straight is a win, thanks for watching
If you add another screw in one of the left hand slots of the base you can use the swing away function-engage the guide for straight sewing, swing it out of the way for corners and curves, swing it back in position to continue straight sewing.
Thanks for the tip! Doing that would be very helpful!
This would make a welcome video. I can't picture it!
Thanks for the tip.. I'm going to play with that. Plus, you'll see me using it in upcoming Fab Fit Fridays!
So it does not work for curves?
No, it's not helpful on curves... but my Dad ordered me something else that will be... stay tuned!
Just bought one for my Daughters 301. Walking foot and seam allowance guide is a great combo.
Yay... That does sound like a great combo! Thanks for watching
What a great dad ❤️ Please thank him for me... I'm getting one!
I will, thanks so much!
That is so cute if him ❤
:) thanks... he is the best
That is SO SLICK!!!! Sending this to all my quilt buddies.
Yay... I wish I had more time to do some quilting!! Thanks for watching and sharing!!

I love gadgets ....this one is a winner....Your Dad has such knowledge ...does he sew? love youe video thx
Thanks! My Dad is a wood craftsman... He makes all sorts of projects... his current passion is making very detailed wooden cars, trucks, trains... & he even made my daughter (a new third grade teacher) a beautiful school bus complete with a yellow paint job & precise lettering that spells out her school district! He's fascinated by sewing gadgets!
An ad just popped up on my Facebook for this same kind of idea, but with a magnetic base, for those who don’t have the option to screw it on.
Yes, there is a magnetic version for people who have metal machines :) Thanks for watching
Been sewing for many years. What a great tool. Would have like to have this back then. Dad's are special. Thank you🤗
You are so welcome! It is a little beauty, & yes Dad's are special! Thanks for watching
Ordered one after watching your video and used it for the first time today - absolutely brilliant tool. Neatest quilt binding I have ever achieved.
I’m so excited for you!!! Thank you for sharing your experience with it.

My pleasure! Thanks for watching
LOL...Righty tighty, Lefty loosey! I say this in my head all the time too.
hahahahaha!! My Dad taught me that a long time ago!
Wow. Your dad really loves you. I watched this presser-foot demonstrated in an ad and I purchased one. Let me tell you, this is a great attachment. I have been using my zipper foot that is built to sew regular and invisible zippers to edge stitch. Now I can adjust the width of my topstitching and also use a double needle.
Could you kindly include a link to where I can get this foot?
He does!! Thank you for sharing your experience with this little beauty! and for watching
Here you go! I found it on Amazon... Click this affiliate link to get yours!

What an enterprising dad to have! Mine (the pressurefoot, not dad) was just delivered. Thank you.
Yay... Hope you love it! Thanks for watching
Dads, just got to love them. Not sure my dad would have ever thought to buy me a sewing tool but he taught me how to golf!
This tool looks very interesting. I’m just getting back into sewing and I can see how this would be a big help. Thanks so much for sharing.
Yes we do! I think every Dad has his special super power to share with his kids :) Happy to hear you're getting back into sewing! Thanks for watching
Thank you so much for doing a demo on this product. I've been thinking about getting this to help me keep my seams straight and on point but had no idea how to use this.
So happy to help, thanks for watching
What a great attachment. Thanks to your Dad
It is!! Thank you so much for watching!
As a new sewist, I have been looking at every little thing I can find on every site that might sell sewing supplies. I have come across this device and had no idea how it worked. So, thank you so much for this demonstration i am immediately going to buy this presser foot. it will be so helpful to me as a newbie.
:) I'm so happy! This will definitely help you sew accurate seam allowances! Thanks for watching
So sweet of your dad. My neighbor and I just ordered this foot today. Thank you for sharing.

I have three antique Singers (15-91, 221, and Featherweight) and there are holes all over the machine bed for all the genius Simanco attachments. I have just ordered this and will report back for those of us with straight-stitch Singers. Thank you SO much for this. If this works, it will put so many of my paralyzing, perfectionist fears to rest and I can start sewing again.
Please do let us know....I have a Featherweight too.
OMG, I have a featherweight on the shelf in my studio.. I'm going to try it too!
I had suspected that this is a copy of a commercial Simanco attachment because it looks so much like others that were made for the old Singers. Now, I'm almost sure it is. It fits perfectly. The antique straight stitch Singers have multiple holes on the machine bed and this just screws right on. It also fits perfectly on my Bernina 730 Artista. Yay! Happy sewing!
Yay Dad what a sweet man
Yes he is! Thanks for watching
I just got this presser foot (it took 4 weeks to get) and I have to keep this video so I can refer to it on how to use the sewing foot.
Sorry it took so long to arrive... I'm going to be sharing how it works on my Baby Lock Ovation Serger next week during Subscriber Q & A! Thanks for following along with me
How sweet is that! good thing it fits your machine as he probably didn't even think about that!
:) Good news, I also figured out how to use it on any machine: ua-cam.com/video/soUiJ2d9gwA/v-deo.html Thanks for watching
Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosy!! LOL!! I say that in my head EVERY time I screw something in!! 😂😂😂😂
:) Happy to hear I'm not the only one! Thanks for watching
How sweet of your Dad! Wow, what a cool gizmo to have. I must get one!! TY for the tutorial!😊
:))) thanks so much, I think you'll love it!
Let your dad know your followers send him hugs 💕🙌🏻😁
:) I shared this video with him yesterday... He got a chuckle out of it!! (also he is the best). Thanks for watching!
For those wondering if this will fit vintage Singer machines, I have just received mine and tried it on my Singer 274: it fits perfectly. If it fits the 274 it will fit the other vintage Singer machines. And it is brilliant: perfectly straight seam!
Yay, thanks for sharing your experience with it fitting vintage Singer machines, also happy that you love it, thanks for watching
Dad's always find the greatest tools! - Thanks for sharing and I've ordered mine! - God Bless!!
They do!! He's a pro because he's a wood worker and spends a lot of time searching for the perfect tools to use for his latest project. I think he has more tools to measure various ways than I do! God Bless you too!!
Thank you so much. I watched your part 2 first. And I subscribed. Your great, I'll be back.
Welcome to my channel!! Thank you for joining me an for watching!
Omg, I bought it after watching your video when you posted it, but I couldn’t remember why. I’ve been participating in a murder mystery quilt series this year and could have been using it for my quarter inch seams, lol. I’m going to start using it for this month’s block, lol. Better late than never!
:) I think you will love quilting with this hem guide... plus the little paddle in front of your presser foot helps to guide the fabric!
Awesome!!!! Thanks for sharing
My pleasure, thanks for watching
Wow, thanks! Just ordered.
Yay, I think you'll love it! I was using it in my Shirt Jacket Class last night... Straightest Hems ever... Thanks for watching
Follow-up to my earlier comment: I am in heaven! I was able to attach it to my Singer Quantum Stylist and what a game changer! So far I have used it for completing a “ round- about” before attaching the binding on quilts, baby blankets, top stitching. Thank you so much gorgeous introducing this small tool of wonder. Kudos to your dad.😊😊
So happy to hear! So happy you're enjoying it (I love mine too)
Jennifer, I just received mine and I love it! Thanks for showing it to us.
You are so welcome! and I'm happy you love it! (one of my subscribers sent me a surprise in the mail last week... Join me later today to see what it was... hint? It's something that will help you use this hem guide!) Thanks for following along with me
I have one of these and they are handy
It really is handy!! Thanks for watching
I just got my from Walmart, just googled it the 'presserfoot'. It is amazing. It works on my Bernina 880+ but I can only put in one screw --for some reason the screw closest to the press foot didn't work. My holes are not on the needle plate but on the surface of the machine bed. By using just one screw I can swing it away from the sewing area if needed.
Thanks for sharing! I can only put one screw in when I'm using it on my Janome 6700P!
I've been needing this since forever! I just ordered one. Can hardly wait to use it. Thanks for sharing & your dad is obviously AWESOME!
He is awesome!! I think you'll love it, thanks for watching
Thank you . I saw that and it got my attention too Tell your dad thx
My pleasure! ...and I'll tell him :) Thanks for watching
Great tutorial. Thank you. ☘️🌝🌲
My pleasure! Thanks for watching :)
Thanks! I just bought one for guiding long strips of fabric but did not realize how much more it can do. This video is great!
Yay, I hope you enjoy it!! Thanks for watching
Ilove this pressfoot
Me too... I'm so excited my Dad found it for me! Thanks for watching
That’s going to work great on my cover stitch machine too!
Yes it will!! Thanks for watching
I didn't think of that!! Thanks for the tip.
Just used this on my Ovation with the new overlock table. Made handling the knit fabric easier and I was able to easily maintain a perfect seam allowance!!
Yessss.. I can't wait until I have a knit project to work on, I'm dying to try it on my Ovation too... Currently stuck in bias top and dress land! Thanks for watching
I bought a package of three from Amazon. Thank you for sharing.
Yay! I think you'll love them! Thanks for watching
Thank for sharing this with us. I had never seen this before and will use it for piecing for quilts, mainly, and probably long straight steams for garments, too. And since it fits your Janome, it should fit my machine too. YAY!
Yay, I'm so happy this will help you... I think it's perfect for quilters. Thanks for watching
Looks like it will be great for top-stitching around collar edges and such! I think I need one! Thanks for the tip!
You are so welcome! also agreed, I think it would be a great for topstitching! Thanks for watching
I'm gonna have to get one thank you for sharing, and thank your dad for me as well. ❤
:) I think you'll love it! ...and I will!
This is such a wonderful attachment! As a senior citizen, It is more difficult to see if my fabric edges are exactly where they should be before I stitch. Also, it looks as though one might be able to use fewer pins or perhaps NO pins to hold the two fabrics together!
It is!! Also thinking less or no pins. ...I did a tutorial showing how to make a continuous placket along a slit I made in the back neckline of one of my Mom's dresses (so she could get it over her head easier)... I used this foot, taped to my small janome jem... I was so excited about how much easier it was to guide the fabric accurately... When I wrote my newsletter and put the photos in for the tutorial I realized I didn't put the little metal clip on top of the fabric to hold the layers as they went under the presser foot... Because having the hem guide set up for 1/4" made it so easy to be accurate, I totally forgot about the clip...Imagine if I had the clip engaged too!
Your dad is my new Hero! Thanks dad! ❤
:) I'll share him! Thanks for watching
Thank you for sharing
My Pleasure! Thanks for watching
Tip:- use contrasting colour threads when doing a demonstration.
Thanks for the introduction to the "presserfoot" presser foot!
Great tip! I will remember to do that next time! Thanks for watching :)
I'm sold! Thank you so much for sharing!
My pleasure!! thanks for watching
I own that and have never used it. Thanks for the video. Your dad sounds like such a sweet man. I love the “lefty loosey and righty tightly” I say it all the time!
:))) When I showed my Dad this video, he got a chuckle when I said Lefty Loosey & Righty Tighty! ...easy way to remember! Thanks for watching
Lovely that your dad got that for you...great tool
He is the best!! Thanks for watching
I have an old hand-crank machine. This doodad might be just the thing i need. Cool, thanks.
Wow, an old hand-crank machine!! That sounds very cool! I hope it works out Thanks for watching
I need this. I have something similar on my coverstitch and love it. I can’t wait for it to arrive
Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for watching
That’s interesting. I haven’t seen one before but I’m guessing it is one of the many industrial attachments one might find in a factory and someone said home sewers could probably use these. Thank you for the video.
:) There are so many little metal gadgets out that to make sewing easier... I had no idea (until my Dad sent me this)... Thanks for watching
Great video! I just discovered that the screws that came with my Baby Lock Triumph serger work for this attachment. They are plastic headed but long enough to work on my Bernina B480 machine!
Yay... I can't wait until I have to cover hem something on my Ovation!!
Quilters Delight!! Thanks for sharing. And thank your Dad for me too!
So happy to hear... and I will! Thanks for watching
I just ordered one. I think it will work great when attaching binding to a quilt. Thank you for the review.

I just placed an order for my presser foot along with other items. 😂😂 Thank you and your dad. I have two machines and it only fit my Janome. So excited. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome! and thank you for following along with me!
Thanks for sharing and showing! Dad’s are the best 😄
Yes they are! Thanks for watching
I have just bought a bunch of presser feet for my straight stich industrial..Brother 1500..and they are called compensating feet. They are great to sew edge stitching/top stitching in many different widths..1/16" to 1/2". There are different places to buy them but I got mine from Wawak and only about $5 a foot. Great for getting a straight line on hems, etc.
That's a great tip! Thanks for sharing ...and for watching
This gizmo is awesome, Jen! Thanks for the link
:) I think you'll love it! Thanks for watching
Oh wow!!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks Dad! What a brilliant add on, and I know it will fit my machine as I’ve got the MC6700 too 🎊 🎉
:) I LOVE my MC6700!!! Thanks for watching
I have the 6700 as well! I’d love to see a video with your thoughts on the machine, which features and feet you use, etc.
