Just started drinking Hamms here in New England ,finding it here is very difficult ! Enjoy Hamms very much ,and my other two fave old school Boomer Beers that are my faves that are also hard to snag here is Schaefer and Schlitz ! Working on trying to get other old school faves here as well to try including Blatz Old Style. National Bohieum Schmidts and Strohs . Thnx again for all your beer comparisions too ! I’m in southern Indiana. Out of the old school brands, I can find Hamms, Pabst, Strohs, Old Style, Old Milwaukee, and Schlitz if I go north a little. My in law got Blatz for me in Ohio and I’ve seen National Bohemian in North Carolina but have never seen Schaefer or Schmidt’s anywhere. Good luck to ya. 👍

I'll go with Pabst Blue Ribbon, on this one. I wish that Hamm's Golden Draft was still around, and I never have tried Hamm's Special Light.

I've had PBR, but i have never had Hamms. Good battle...
Drank alot of pbr in the 70's.Was really good then.
PBR I like better and I have drank cases of both! Schlitz is really good as well!

Hamm's always tastes better than PBR for the two reasons you stated. There actually is a (small) hop presence in Hamm's and it is not too sweet.
Hamm's to me has a sweet, sticky sour taste to it. I like PBR!
