I'm no pro but didn't they switch to rice vs corn for cheapness? I always thought it was corn but a few people mentioned rice to cut costs. Anyone care to chime in I'm curious.
Loving these "regular beer" reviews! My go-to lawnmower beer is Pabst, but won't say no to a Hamms either! Both brewed about 15 minutes from where I am at work! Had a guy at a bar the other day try tell me that Miller puts the same product in both cans...politely told him to STFU. Cheers Man!
That guy was correct. Miller puts the same beer into both cans. The beer recipe is S6-4 (which is the Hamms recipe). Miller contracted with Pabst in 1999 to put S6-4 into Pabst cans. The original Pabst recipe hasn't existed since at least 1996, but possibly further back. The contract with Miller expires this year, when Pabst will begin brewing their own products again after purchasing the shut down Irwindale CA brewery from Miller for $150 million in 2020. But since Miller still owns the S6-4 recipe, Pabst is going to have to tweak PBR. They can probably source the same ingredients, but it won't be exactly the same (different yeast too, presumably). As of May, the Milwaukee brewery still brews S6-4 for Pabst, so the change hasn't happened here yet. I'm not sure about the rest of the network, as this is a "phase out".
Sipping on a 16 oz. can of PBR while watching this. Hamms is good stuff also. Used to be my uncle in Minnesota's go to beer. I just like to keep some 16's of PBR in my beer fridge. At only 5.99 a six pack its a good deal. I remember the last time I bought Hamm's it was inexpensive as well. Cheers!
Never had Hamms before. I like trying Lagers from different parts of the country. My buddy just went to Chicago and brought me back Point Special and Stag. Solid. If I ever see Hamms I'll have to try it
I love this, man. Two Old School beers. My Dad bought me a case of each when I hit 18...the legal drinking age here back on the day. I drink both beers regularly here in Milwaukee still now. Excellent video.
Is there any difference between the Hamm’s blue can and the gold can? I only have access to the premium gold cans but not the generic blue. Just curious 🧐
Great video , JOW. Side note- Paperboy is a true "bitch" of a video game but I know you have a high score on that- Power to you. Thanks for investing your time in these videos!
6-pks of the gold 16 oz. Hamm's cans are $4.97 in the supermarket here. $5 for a sixxer of lager in this economy??? Yes, pls. I smash Hamm's working on the car, walking the dogs, taking a shower, sitting on the porch, charging my cell phone, hydrating during workouts, as an afternoon pick-me-up... I could go on. QUAL. IT. TEE.
On a warm day, on the golf course, they are both great!
Yessir! 🍻
@@jsenigaglia Yes, sir. thanks!

Hamms, PBR, and Miller Lite are my go to’s just because they have more of a traditional lager taste.
They’re all great beers! 🍻
PBR Hamms Old Style Schlitz Jax. All good beer!
🍻🍻🍻

I could tell Hamm's was in the yellow glass. Both are delicious. But I'm going with Hamm's. Always on tap at my local bar.
I’d kill to have spots here with Hamms on tap!
@@jsenigaglia Cheap and delicious. Can't go wrong with that.
I think I'd probably pick Hamm's.
Side by side I think I’m a Hamms guy, too. That sweetness on the PBR is def there. I’ll drink either or all day long though! 🍻
@@jsenigaglia pbr always gives me a headache. Always. Hamms never gives me a headache.
PBR used to be brewed in my hometown, Newark, NJ. The brewery had a giant PBR bottle on the roof. They took it down a few years ago. 😥
Did they move?
@@jsenigaglia Yes, they closed the brewery. Still have Budweiser, across the highway from Newark Airport.
They are both distinct, and tasty. I always thought Hamms had kind of a sourdough bread flavor to it. Cheers!
I love them both! 🍻
Gotta battle the beers side by side to really know what your palate prefers. It’s a scientific fact 🍻
That was awesome, man! I guessed the PBR as soon as you said the aroma. I always get a pleasant honey kinda sweetness on the nose and palate. Cheers 🍻

Same! Love both of these beers and try and have them in the fridge all the time! 🍻
Just got a 24pk of hamm’s, ready for the games tomorrow!
LFG! 🍻

I’ve been reaching out to friends trying to get lagers from out of state. Hoping I can land some 🤙🏼🍻
Just bought a 30 pack of hamms for $14.49 , love my pbrs and my milwaukees best lights but gonna venture out
Hope you enjoy! 🍻

Old school, and everyday drinkers! Glad you're a fan of them both!

No, these are just the throwback cans. They’re all that’s around here. I miss the gold cans.
hamms is the best
So good 🍻
PBR for the win
My trained eye says the orange is the Halloween Glassy and the red is the Valentine’s Day Glassy…boooooom!!!
Haha yes! 🍻🤣🔥
Hamms by a mile over PBR!
❗️❗️❗️
Blend them and see what you think 🤔
Agreed, you have to cuvée when doing battle beers. 🍻

Thanks for watching them!
I came here for the cuvee!
Dude I effed up by not doing it! :(
Genny cream coming soon!!!
I don’t think we get that here in SoCal 😩

Both are good brews, very affordable. Bought a 30 pk of Hamms and they are only $12 for a 30 beers, crazy cheap.
