    Love watching old hunting interviews and footage, I feel like sometimes we get stuck in the modern trends or common views of how we should hunt and ignore basic common sense. I feel like our grandfathers and ancestors were much better hunters than most of us are and there is a lot to learn from the past.

    I thought I was the only person on the planet still shooting a retail, off the shelf, broadhead. You ain't cool these days unless you are shooting some single bevel made by a boutique company that weighs 5 pounds and costs $75 😂

    • @johndyer9232
      @johndyer9232 19 днів тому

      Magnus has 3 packs for that price. 😉. Actually 3 pack 2 blade single bevel 150 grain for $55ish. For reference 3 pack of Shwacker 150 grain are $45ish.

      Bought 3 "boutique broadheads" 4 seasons ago. Haven't had to buy any since, get what you pay for. It's definitely worth not going cheap on the most important part of the arrow

    My humble opinion is you have the very best method to hunt deer in their bedrooms.. I know every place you hunt you may not have to. But logically, there isn't a better way in pressured areas in my opinion. I know it's hard and in some states it's not necessary due to lack of pressure. But otherwise is the best way in my opinion.
    Question out of curiosity.. why not switch to a kisser button, that way eyesight can focus entirely on the deer and not through a little whole. I do that and love it.

    Since you already have a kisser, if the lens doesn't work, you can try shooting without a peep sight. Just add a bowmar nose button so you always have the same position.

    You know I landed this piece of property to hunt I’ve have been hunting across the road from this piece for few years now and i would see deer other there but never asked because it’s a horse barn and they to riding lessons they go out there the woods on trails well I said hell with it and went and ask got the go ahead I went out looked around jumped deer going out tons of sign and the trails don’t go down to where I wanted to hunt so that’s good plus the deer are use to the horses and people riding anyways the barns been there for at least 30 years but i wanted to hunt it because it’s a crap hole thick is not a word for it but nice flat before you get to the thick stuff and there is 2 islands I walked through the cat nine tails found beds like Dan Said the the sign on that island was u real but I can not get to it without making a ton of noise and blowing them out if that are laying there I feel like most are laying up the river more in the oxbow but it’s so think u can never making it there so my plan is to hunt the edge of the cat nine tails and hopefully they get up and come my way and start feeding on the oaks before making their way to the pasture at night and not go to the island and feed either way I wrote this novel to say I followed the beast way and I’m pumped I have gotten one pic of a nice buck but not to close to where I like to hunt

    The best tactic to kill bucks or deer for that matter is having the time and opportunity to be in the woods. If you don’t have that, your success is limited. Times are tough for a lot of people. If you get to hunt more than the average 15 days a year for most guys, you’re gifted with freedoms many don’t have. Stay humble and be grateful of your spare time.
