Very good episode, Michael McKeen is good guest with interesting and funny stories, and pat on the back to Michael for not being dead yet unlike most of the PGACP guests in September, 2022 ... Good show.
The comedian who painted his eyeglasses on was Bobby Clark, of Clark and McCullough. Not Bert Wheeler. (And Woolsey was the one who wore glasses in any case.) And the reason Woody Allen wasn't acting in "The Sunshine Boys" is... Woody Allen can't act. All he can do is play the character he developed in nightclubs 50 years ago. His amateurishness nearly ruined "The Front," especially at the climax. That movie needed an actor in the lead, and got Woody Allen instead.
