Technically speaking.. Coop wasnt in the Brotherhood - he fought on behalf of the US army.. quite a while before the Brotherhood became a thing - he wore an earlier (but highly similar) model of the Power armor.
Coop said he was in the Marines.
Yep, he specifically mentioned that armor and its flaws in his first conversation with Bud in episode 6.
@@kc1johnCooper mentioned they were using the T-45 during the war before the bombs fell. The updated power armor is the T-60 (which still has the same flaw).
Coop was in US Marines (using T 45) before T 51 (2076) and T 60 (2077) got into service. He ended his service 4,5 yrs before Great War, 23rd Oct 2077 (nukes) in early 2070s. US Army became Brotherhood of Steel after they rebelled against (Shaddow)Gvt (post nukes Enclave) just shortly (days, or few weeks) before Great War.
@@elvisibra theres evidence and theories that seem to suggest the enclave was a thing before the great war, these go back to all the games with hints and clues and now the show had its own hints and clues that they did indeed exist long before the bombs dropped.

Cooper was part of the US marine corps and participated sino-American war during Alaska defense and the power armors were very important during that fight that's why he mentioned them having flaws which costed the lives of his comrades.
In the end, Hank went to a place called New Vegas which is where the game Fallout : New Vegas takes place
Technically speaking that should be past tense, because this is close to two decades down the road from when the game happens.

I think the crazy thing to recognize is how all the main leads got what they wanted from the beginning but it turned out being twisted. Coop wanted to be a real cowboy and became one but as a ghoul. Max wanted to be a knight and recognized by the brotherhood only to find out he wants Lucy. Lucy found her dad but learned he wasn’t who she thought he was.

The place Hank was looking at the end is called "New Vegas" It's the title of one of the Fallout games.
Remember, all the Brotherhood’s military hardware are relics they’ve gathered since the fall. Those T-60 power armors? Those are at least 220 year old, and were probably originally commissioned for the US military.
Which is where Cooper wore its predecessor design, the T-45 power armor, in the US Marine Corps.
The code Hank puts in to start the machine is the date the first Fallout game came out 10/10/97
this show was so good it made all fallout games sky rocket in sales,now thats saying something,for someone who loves the games i cannot be more proud.

There’s a shift in power during the meeting. It’s an investor pitch because VaultTec needs an infusion of cash from the other big companies. Bud the CEO fumbles the investment pitch because he’s obsessed with Bud’s Buds and his management theories. He fails capture the interest of the skeptical bosses.
Previous to the meeting, Bud was Barb’s boss. When he fails, the big VaultTec boss (the Chairman of the Board or whatever) signals her to step up and close the deal. She convinces the other company leaders to buy into VaultTec’s plan and takes over from Bud.
And that’s why Bud is a brain in a jar riding on a roomba. Instead of running the company, he’s now like a regional manager, in charge of his little three vault experiment. Barb, if she is still alive, is presumably in the top management vault in New Vegas. She’s been a ruthlessly ambitious businessperson all along, not merely concerned with her family’s survival. What sort of a person starts World War III so that her family can survive World War III?

While it may look like Quintus is trusting Maximus, it seems more likely to me that Quintus believes Maximus murdered Titus due to a selfish lust for power. And now Quintus is bribing Max with the offer of even more power, talking like he's a partner, but treating him as a useful thug.
Damn it's gonna be a Palpatine/Anakin matchup isn't it? He's going to try and corrupt Maximus further.
Cooper wasn't in the brotherhood, he was a US Marine before the great war over 200 years ago. Power armor was developed for the US military in the pre war fallout universe. Cooper wore a set of T45 power armor when he fought in the battle of anchorage, to take Alaska back from the Chinese.
Vault 31, 32, and 33 were just Bud's experimental vault, not a vault for all the higher ups (corporate figureheads)at the meeting with the shadowy figure. I'm assuming the management control vault is in New Vegas.
what vault Tec did to shady sands becomes more sad yet fun if you played fallout 1 and 2 because shady sands was founded by vault dwellers so they killed there own people
Not really, Vault-Tec was selling vaults and places in them for profit, and to those other corporations for their experiments, so most of vault dwellers were not their own people. Remember Barb distinguished "good vaults" (vaults for management) when talking to Coop in flashback
@@PI-jh7nc no the vault dwellers who made shady sands were from a control vault where there were no experiments from memory there were 3 control vaults we find in the games there could be more we see in future games

Without calling names, Vault-Tec is just the managerial/technocratic mentality pushed to an absurd extreme for the sake of satire. That mentality can be found in almost any organization of any size - corporations, universities, nonprofiits, governments . . . The managerial mindset pushes for what is good for the organization itself at all costs; the technocratic mindset insists that everyone should trust "experts" without question.

War, War never changes, that's Fallouts greatest line and main idea throughout its universe, and they pull it off so well, that's why its such a interesting world, even in its post apocalyptic state humanity will always fight against each other for power, it never ends.
The ending where Hank was headed is called New Vegas, at which one of the games was set in and its a fan favorite, p.s they already confirmed for second season just a week after season one aired

Hank was right about Moldaver. She's no better than he is. She did go into Vault 33 and killed innocent people(minus the ones from Vault 31). Lucy and Norm could've been killed during that raid.
I doubt she had much control over the raiders but needed them to finish her mission to snag Hank.
In theory…but there is a difference between killing 10 people and dropping a Nuke on a city.
Hank got a body count over 10gs
The difference is, Moldaver killed a dozen or so innocents in order to get to a necessary objective. Hank nuked a town because it didn't fit into his plans. Both acts are morally wrong, but you can't just ignore context and scale and equate the two.

If Moldaver is to be trusted (she might be unreliable narrator, cause doesn't know entire real truth, or just lying some), civilization outside was siphoning off Vault's water supply. So yeah, Vault choice was: join them or die. Or stop them from taking Vault water. 🤷@@marauderdz

19:10 yeah... Don't try to defend vault tech, they are the bad guy, anyone who has played the games will tell you that. A lot of the pre war companies in the fallout universe are pretty bad, vault tech is by far the worst, they're not just bad, they're pure evil. Moldaver is the good guy here. She wanted cold fusion to rebuild all of society regardless of factions.
Calling Vault Tec peaceful is kinda giving them an air of benevolence they don’t deserve, yeah. I get what he was getting at, but a better description would probably be ‘apathetic to the powerless’.
Remember, Bud said that vault 31 are his junior executives, aka lower management. I think all the top executives, including Barb are at a different vault, maybe at New Vegas. That's where Hank is going to at the end.

this show did such a great job getting people into the fallout world, every game gives you a deeper look into the world to just get immersed in as well
I suspect that the ending shot showing New Vegas is a well planned intro to next season. The Brotherhood didn't use Roman names like Maximus, Thaddeus, Titus, etc. However, one of the biggest factions of Fallout: New Vegas did. Caesar's Legion. The Brotherhood was quite weak in New Vegas and possibly assimilated with the remnants of the Legion. It would explain a lot of their current customs/behavior.

If you want to play one of the games. Fallout New Vegas has the best story and feels more like an RPG but it’s really old and outdated. Fallout 4 is newer but the story is not the strong point but rather the gameplay. In other words It feels more gamey rather than story driven. Also NV takes place on the west coast and you learn more about Moldavers faction while 4 takes place in Boston on the east cost with new factions except for the brotherhood.

I find it funny how so many ppl are confused about how Maldaver survived for so long. She was so smart she solved cold fusion and sold it to Vault tec for what i assume is an ungodly amount of money. I think making her own cryo pod and shelter would not be a problem.

Not really the antagonist unless you actively go against him, since he's a faction option.
Shady Sands was created by vault dwellers who left their vaults for the surface.
The meeting is interesting. It’s basically an investor pitch. VaultTec is struggling (because of the peace negotiations and low sales) and the company is seeking cash to continue its plans.
We are also seeing Barb being promoted and her boss Bud being demoted. Bud fails to convince the heads of the other companies. Barb saves the meeting and becomes Bud’s boss. In the process she shows her ruthlessness, which she had concealed up to now. You don’t wipe out billions of people just to get your family into a better vault. We are seeing Barb as she really is, an ambitious woman willing to sacrifice the world for corporate greed.
Bud ends up managing his little three vault experiment as overseer of Vault 31. He’s been demoted from upper management to being a regional manager.
I am not sure that the Brotherhood of Steel was ever at war with Shady Sands. If anything, they might have been rescuing the survivors of Shady Sands, as was the case with Maximus. I don’t know the game lore, but it’s possible that they peacefully coexisted. Remember, the main goal of the Brotherhood is order and keeping the peace. If Shady Sands was peaceful and not screwing with the Brotherhood, the Brotherhood might leave them alone.

the game has way more in depth story and side stories. take everything in when and take your time getting to know the world while learning how to play as well. the side stories are the best part of the game

Playing FO3 would be the best intro. Every game after has updated mechanics which could make earlier games feel "dumbed down" (for lack of a better term) and less interesting to play in reverse.
Cooper's wife kept mentioning she wanted to get them into one of the "good" vaults and in the show you see that all these other vaults are just used for experiments for the rich to play around with. In the end you see Hank go to New Vegas and so the show is hinting that the main vault that is overseeing all of these experimental vaults is there and probably where Barb and her daughter is living.
I highly doubt Barb came up with the idea to drop the bombs. She's just a mouthpiece. This in no way absolves her complicity.
Not so much a flaw in humanity/never-ending cycle and more of a corporate forced hellscape where competition for the lack of resources becomes necessary. Capitalism's lack of care about the environment, focus on everlasting growth and profit is the biggest reason for the issues in the world. I don't think any of us, in our heart-of-hearts, care to spend 1/3 of our lives working a job most of us hate just to make somebody else more money. We just gotta change what we expect is normal. I feel like this show did a great job with all these themes!!
You should go back and look at all the credit outros. They are all different, the same way the opening Fallout logo is different for each epiosde. They also give a slight hint as to what's happening . . .

Love yalls theorizing, but the Vault Tec justifications were maybe a bit much lol. They're unapologetically evil - and that includes Barb, who was a high level executive. You don't get to that position purely by playing along, even if her original intentions were to protect her daughter. Not dissimilar to Hank "protecting" Lucy by nuking Shady Sands and his own wife, really.

This was painful to watch.
I get what he's saying and there's no need to try to act like it's problematic or something. He's just saying that Vault-Tec doesn't attack anyone unless there's someone to attack. Meaning, the settlers of Filly living in their scrap metal shacks and shooting teeth at each other aren't going to be bothered. But a settlement like Shady Sands crops up with street cars and promise of further advancement? Vault-Tec then perceives a threat and eliminates it.
@@nirvanafan21191Exactly. Filly is wastelanders living in trash. Shady Sands was a developing civilization that was building new infrastructure, rather than just living in ruins and surviving on scraps. Vault Tec would definitely see the NCR as a rival to power.
The TV show is just one very long cutscene. Love it or not its is now canon to the whole Fallout franchise

You should work on audio mixing balance for future reactions. Having your voice over slightly louder than the show is fine but the show was way too muted.

Vault Tec has shown willing to drop the 1st nuke, but would Barb do it while her daughter out? Shaddowy figure overseeing the corporate meeting likely is Enclave (post nukes) i.e. Shaddow Gvt (pre war), against which US Army (pre nukes) rebelled i.e. Brotherhood of Steel (post nukes).
Cooper was US Marines and ended service 6,7 yrs before that.
Also "good guy" Moldaver who didn't care about Lucy and Norm in ep1, now is all friends with Lucy i.e. at least half of what she said there in the end is just B.S., cause for example time difference between Rose going out with kids + kids getting back to Vault (all happened during 2277), and Shady Sands getting nuked (2282) is 5yrs.
When Hank talks about war vs peace, we have to remember that humanity has 2000yrs history of wars, still the way Vault Tec wants to "end wars" is insane and will fail.

This narrative is just like in the game. There is rarely a "good side". It's all about who you consider to be thr lesser Evil. Possibly one could consider thr Minutemen in Fallout 4 to be good, but appart from that most factions are just different kind and different levels of shit.
The sound of your clips is Way Low compared to your comment audio. Plus using 100% opaque view is not good for the watch along.. Isn't a copy write deal. Get ideas by watching other channels.. Or hire a editing company..
games r lots better (FNV, F2, F1) show is good too- but is another, has F humour and overall is ok+ (was hard like hell to mix all parts*) but timeline if u know lore is very bad... at end is mr. House (sponsor guy with mustaches) New Vegas, guarded city and last old bastion for Hank etc (West BoS loose in Mojave after battle of Poseidon power plant and hide for live in bunkers, now we see reinforcements from East Coast but even all BoS wasnt enable to "push a little" NCR- like small army vs all army of California state) in this time (20 years after SS) BoS dont have VertBirds even theyre dk wtf is this, Prydwen dont exist yet, thats technology only have Enclave- remnants of gov. (cold fusion was stolen from E) code 11 11 97 is real date of F1 relase etc
