I have absolutely no idea why but the Fume Knight is just one of my favourite fights in Soulsborne. His lore is pretty cool, especially if you find little drips of information about him through the main game of DS2 only to figure out he was one of the strongest warriors in Vendricks army, and one of his personal bodyguards who was deemed a rebel. I also kinda headcanon him to related to Artorias (you find Artorias’ greatsword in a neighbouring tower and FK is left handed) so that’s a W at any point, the run back is decent and the actual fight itself is incredibly fun. Learning how to perfectly bait and punish his combos is one of the most satisfying things I’ve done playing video games
My top 3 is midir, gael, and orphan. Midir is the perfect dragon fight to me, gael is the best knight-esque type fight, and orphan of kos is the perfect beast/non human boss
Gael is a perfection, there's no boss that is more satisfying to fight. His moveset fits your move capability perfectly, like you can fight him with UGS or a dagger and you'll still feel comfortable enough. And his story throught the game and placement in the lore is just brilliant. Best boss ever, not only in souls, but overall the best of all games.
On my recent replay of DS3 I think Friede finally moved to the top spot in the franchise for me as that third phase is the single best phase of about any video game boss. But that top 4 is so good I think any variation of that would get me to nod along.
I thought this came out ages ago. Pretty good list! Here’s mine from least to most favorite: -Gank squad -Lud & Zallen -Halflight -Gravetender -Failures -Aava -Guardian -Elana -Blue Smelter -Laurence -Kalameet -Sinh -Ivory King -Alonne -Artorias -Manus -Maria -Ludwig -Demons -Midir -Gael -Fume -Friede -Orphan
I love the respect shown to my boi Blue Coolaid! Still one of my favourite (probably the best) reskins he gets new timings that really did me in the first few times, run back sucks, but pure boss, I really like it!
Man, EVERYBODY is sleeping on Aava’s introduction! That shit was epic! Alsanna’s monologue as you approach the boss door did an amazing job hyping me up for the boss and making me feel on edge. The fight was okay but that, for lack of a better phrase, in-game cutscene made it five times more memorable!
I really hope you didn’t quit YT and comeback and start making vids again. I just got into soulsbourn games a little bit ago with Elden Ring. Now that I’ve finished I’ve started demons souls and am really enjoying it. I find your videos really enjoyable and hope you return to making videos shortly!!!

Funny thing is that, I enjoy the Maria fight and tight parry windows so much that while others R1 spam, I just parry the whole time due to how satisfying it is!
Only played Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 from this list. I did Slave Knight Gael first time. Awesome fight, but maybe I need to fight him again to fully appreciate it. Ludwig was actually my favourite.
His 2nd phase is significantly easier than his first and the best part of the song barely gets to play because his 2nd phase is over in like 30 seconds. Also, his drop from the ceiling attack is pretty annoying. Everything about him other than the 2nd half of the fight is perfect.

Solid list, I especially like the appreciation for the Burnt Ivory King. Really underrated, but a gimmick boss done right. I dont really share the placement of Blue Smelter tho. In a vakuum, he is a solid boss. But the runback to him and especially the fact that people paid money for it to be a reskin AND being the worst Boss in that DLC really would have warranted a spot on the very low end of the list. (At least for me)
Ngl i found gravetender pretty underrated. Obviously overshadowed by friede, but the arena and ost is so beautiful. You can take out the dogs and npc quick before the greatwolf starts to seriously attack. The greatwolf by itself is a pretty fun quick battle
Sister friede is def my fav out of all the dlcs I played, because I knew about her 2nd phase before going into the fight, so when me and my friend killed her, I turned around and started talking to him saying something like “yeah I knew about her second phase but still that was such a fun fight!” And he goes “uh…..Uh??…..AHHHHHHHHH” and I turn around and friede is in the air with her black flame scythe and I have never felt more fear in a souls game since, so yah, she’s my fav
Laurence is a reskin Boss done right (not including the sounds). Also is he not the ONLY reskin Boss in Bloodborne ? I cant remember others so bonus points for that game
I think originally Fromsoftware games intended "Velstaldt The King's Royal Aegis" to serve the Queen; in the system's game flies, he is titled Queen's instead of King's; ironic if u consider his unwavering service to Vendrick. In lore it is stated that he never questioned Nashandra upon her seeking of shelter In Drangliec Castle, possibly out of his unwavering devotion. Once the Queen, she settled the land in quietness. She too revealed her intentions to trick Vendrick; to use his own power to usurp him. He ran through Drangliec castle, to the once Royal crypt (now titled Undead Crypt, they mass-buried-alive the undead here to suppress their uprising) he did so to protect the kingdom, however his subjects viewed this as unfaithfulness. Once Vendrick retired to the Crypt, so too had Velstaldt; to serve him in undeath. In the past, Velstaldt faces towards would-be pillagers/graverobbers and the Queen's subjects. In the present he has turned towards his own King, to protect him further... I love this story, the visual representation of Velstaldts sollum prayer/thought reflection under his holy light is one of my favourite images in the series. Him giving into the embrace of the Darknesses, corrupting black abyss in order to serve Vendrick is one of many underappreciated moments in this videogame. I say this to mention, it's possibly Nashandra (who has quite similar moves/Animations to Elana, The Squalid Queen who summons Velstaldt) means Nashandra might have once summoned him, using him here instead of in Elana Squalid Queen's, or Vendrick's storyline. One more suggestion towards this, The Queen's House: Throne Defender/Throne Watcher have similar physical appearances too Velstaldt (Pale unhuman skin, etc).

For me id switch midir and sinh. For me, especially in my recent playthrough, midir posed a very big and frustrating problem: the camera constantly locked off, once 3 times in 5 seconds. In general, the camera is really unlucky with this boss. He also is just so all over the place that i have to run for like half the fight to catch up. I dont mind his difficulty but the shit with the camera and his mobility. Sinh on the other side is all over the place too, but he flies most of the time combining it with charges at you so you have plenty of counter opportunities since its most easier to catch up. Also, this much of flying while showering fire on you really did a good job of portraying how a flying dragon would fight you. His lore is very cool, also his entrance. The only thing making him not a rival to the best dragon fights like placidusax and fortissax is sinhs armor. 10 strikes in and your weapons durability is in a critical state.
I saw how ypu reffered to Ariandel as "Friede's father",in case ypu don't know,Ariandrl isn't actually Friede's father, the father in his title likely means "priest" as a corvian NPC also refers to him as "our father".
Elana is too low. It is one of the best double-fights in the series. You have a melee character with a magic boss that complement each other very well and give you an interesting thought dilemma of who to focus on.
@@_noahbury6_it doesn't even make sense lore wise too, Veldstadt was Vendrick's knight, not of the unnamed sunken king, he would make sense with Nashandra but not Elana a completely unrelated character

I still think Burnt Ivory being at #12 is slander but I'm at least glad he did get some respect. He is one of my favorite bosses in any game, ever. I much prefer him to both Alonne and Fume Knight. His lore significance, the spectacle, dropping into the arena with the Loyce Knights, the team battle between you and the Loyce Knights and the Charred Loyce Knights, then finally seeing the Burnt Ivory King emerge from a massive portal of flames once only you and one of your Loyce Knights remain after the others sacrificed themselves to shut down the portals summoning more Charred Loyce Knights. That and in my personal opinion the King has the most enjoyable moveset to dodge in the game. Also his boss theme is dope.

I like how your pick for best non-human boss is by far the most humanoid "beast" lmao
The living failures ost is a banger
On my recent replay of DS3 I think Friede finally moved to the top spot in the franchise for me as that third phase is the single best phase of about any video game boss. But that top 4 is so good I think any variation of that would get me to nod along.
Outro was really life changing
thoses outros are deep
I'm having a hard time deciding between Lady Maria, Ludwig, and Slave Knight Gael, as the best dlc boss.
I thought this came out ages ago. Pretty good list! Here’s mine from least to most favorite:
-Gank squad
-Lud & Zallen
-Halflight
-Gravetender
-Failures
-Aava
-Guardian
-Elana
-Blue Smelter
-Laurence
-Kalameet
-Sinh
-Ivory King
-Alonne
-Artorias
-Manus
-Maria
-Ludwig
-Demons
-Midir
-Gael
-Fume
-Friede
-Orphan
Gael at 4 is wild to me
I love the respect shown to my boi Blue Coolaid! Still one of my favourite (probably the best) reskins he gets new timings that really did me in the first few times, run back sucks, but pure boss, I really like it!
15 minutes Blockbuster, lets goooo🎉🎉🎉( you‘re my favorite youtuber)
Man, EVERYBODY is sleeping on Aava’s introduction! That shit was epic! Alsanna’s monologue as you approach the boss door did an amazing job hyping me up for the boss and making me feel on edge. The fight was okay but that, for lack of a better phrase, in-game cutscene made it five times more memorable!
Souls Mojo is alive.
Ludwig, lady Maria, and orphan of kos are so good all these 3 in one dlc and Lawerence is also good this dlc is a masterpiece
I’ve always felt like fromsoft shines a lot more in its dlc
They take their time with the feedback from the main game release and give us the best of content
Dlc is clearly not casual territory, it’s meant for hardcore fans and you can tell just by the difficulty amps
DLCs always give us exactly what we want from them which is why I’m really eager for Elden ring, i genuinely think that they will sort out all our gripes about balancing with the dlc
Funny thing is that, I enjoy the Maria fight and tight parry windows so much that while others R1 spam, I just parry the whole time due to how satisfying it is!
Living failures is actually amazing. Because there is a bug where you get hundreds of millions of echoes for killing them a certain way.
Lets gooo ember my bro uploads again!
I always like your rankings, because although I think they're awful(no offense) they're very unique and I like that about them.
Yeah right? Where else will you see someone putting Blue Smelter Demon above Kalameet, Sinh and Aava
Besides Gael at #1 yeah it was pretty refreshing
Lol tbh I couldn't rank them love all the souls bosses irs such a thrill
"and don't ask me for an outro I-"
can we have a ranking vid of ember ranking ember ranking videos? 6/5 would watch
Only played Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 from this list. I did Slave Knight Gael first time. Awesome fight, but maybe I need to fight him again to fully appreciate it. Ludwig was actually my favourite.
i’d put Ludwig at 1
Everything about him is so perfect you can’t even find a flaw
His 2nd phase is significantly easier than his first and the best part of the song barely gets to play because his 2nd phase is over in like 30 seconds. Also, his drop from the ceiling attack is pretty annoying.
Everything about him other than the 2nd half of the fight is perfect.
@@tahireedharder doesnt mean better if that’s the case I think orphan is your favourite
I like a boss which is difficult but not too much and he’s a fun biss
@@s35ii0 I know harder doesn't mean better. That doesn't change the fact that he "powers up" and becomes weaker. That is poor design. Period.
@@tahireed tbh it depends on the person bc the 2nd phase has some really strong moves and all the moves are strong tbh just some can one shot you of you aren’t prepared I found the first harder on my first try on my 2nd I found both were hard in different ways so it depends on the person
@@s35ii0 They aren't strong moves though. I could eat an entire combo from his sword but not from his beast form. His only strong move in phase 2 can be easily dodged because he takes really long to charge the move.
(At least for me)
For me my top 3 DLC bosses have be Gael, Orphan, and Friede all perfect bosses in their own way. honorable mention to Ludwig
Yeah, perfect...
*Cries on 3 phase Friede all being at full health*
@@zalabit927 Friede took me 2 days to beat lol. It got to the point where I could beat her taking no damage because of all the attempts
Great list, and I love seeing Lady Maria get her spotlight! She's also my favorite Bloodborne boss
Ngl i found gravetender pretty underrated. Obviously overshadowed by friede, but the arena and ost is so beautiful. You can take out the dogs and npc quick before the greatwolf starts to seriously attack. The greatwolf by itself is a pretty fun quick battle
11:09 Very easy to see thru that stone pillar LOL. Love these videos ember! Keep it up! 💯
My opinion
23: king’s pet
22: living failures
21:halflight
20:gravetender
19:elana
18:aava
17:sanctuary guardian
16:sinh
15:laurence
14:Kalameet
13:smelter demon
12:burnt
11:manus
10:sir alonne
9:demon twins/ prince
8:midir
7:fume
6:artoris
5:orphan of kos
4:lady Maria
3:friede
2:Ludwig
1:gael
HES NOT DEAD, HE IS ALIVEEEEEEEE
"I also think Artorias is a good fight. That doesn't mean I want to fight two of them."
Elden Ring: "Oh Yeah?"
Taking the tail sword what made kalameet a hard boss for me tbh
Dark Souls franchise has top tier DLC where you're missing out if you don't get the extra content. Just like Witcher 3
Glad to see Lady Maria and Sister Friede made the top 3 :) I also 100% agree with your top 3 for sure!
Laurence is a reskin Boss done right (not including the sounds).
Also is he not the ONLY reskin Boss in Bloodborne ? I cant remember others so bonus points for that game
Pretty sure you’re right about him being the only reskin(not including chalice dungeons)
Living failures is a reskin of celestial emissary, pretty sure witches of hemwick are reused as an enemy, same goes with shadows of yharnam.
Glad to see some love for Demon Prince(s). Favorite DS3 boss.
Now we’ve seen your ranking of the bosses…now let’s see the themes
Blue Smelter demon over Kalameet is insane
Video idea: coolest boss attack in every soulsborne game
Where are you bro ???
Bruh so glad I found your channel, I love your content so much 🎉
That outro was top tier
If I had to give my top 3 Soulsborne dlcs would be
1. Burnt Ivory King
2. Old Hunters
3. Ringed City
Honestly, the Ivory King is not only my least favourite DLC is DS2, but my least favourite in all the Souls games overall.
In DS2, my favourite is definitely the Sunken King DLC
I always dread fighting Ivory King. That stupid gank before the actual fight is mainly the reason.
@@yourdad5799 Is it not a gank when you have the knights to help? In any case Elleyum Lloyce is a gorgeous environment. Ironically has more to explore in a DLC than Anor Londo did in a main game.
@@torakandwolf6786 The knights don't really help so It's still a bad gank either way. The environment is just snow and brick, pretty ugly and bland. The exploration is good yes, before Elden ring this level was the only one where you felt like you were exploring an actual city. Still preffer the other DLCs by far but it's not the most terrible level ever
@@crow1460mine is iron king due to it having good level design and great bosses, albeit some unfair areas. Sunken crown is definitely the most fair dlc out of the 3 and has some of the best level design in any fromsoft game
Sister Friede is my absolute favorite boss in all of Soulsborne, very closely followed by Slave Knight Gael. Her design is perfection. Honorable mention to the Demon Prince also, we really don’t deserve the DS3 DLCs.
He’s not dead? I can’t believe it
He not dead 😱
rent must be due
Ember used an ember
It’s been like 2 weeks
Living failures are kinda cool ngl
does anyone actually ask you to do an outro? i think the succinct ending to all of your videos is iconic
Blue Smelter Demon that high? Nah I can’t forgive the frustration, still a great video
gotta make a remaster now, where have you been? i really loved your content
This really is the Dark Souls of WatchMojo lists
Unpopular opinion: Orphan of Kos and Lady Maria are the best DLC bosses. Not just because of the fights but the lore as well.
I saw how ypu reffered to Ariandel as "Friede's father",in case ypu don't know,Ariandrl isn't actually Friede's father, the father in his title likely means "priest" as a corvian NPC also refers to him as "our father".
Yes sir bro reach 100 k big W I've seen this guy's shorts appear here and there the last time I checked him he was at 80k
Great list, with Elden Ring it's gonna change up a bit lolol.
On another note, I'd swap Maria with Laurence :)
Elana is too low. It is one of the best double-fights in the series. You have a melee character with a magic boss that complement each other very well and give you an interesting thought dilemma of who to focus on.
Unless she summons the skeletons or the pigs
@@_noahbury6_it doesn't even make sense lore wise too, Veldstadt was Vendrick's knight, not of the unnamed sunken king, he would make sense with Nashandra but not Elana a completely unrelated character
That was said perfectly. Artorias was a great boss... It doesn't mean I wanna run through the frigid outskirts to fight two of them at once
Ember, where have you been at brother?
Inner Ishin is best dlc boss
I need some help making a decision. I don't know If I should buy and play DS3. I love Elden Ring and Sekiro but only got like 7 hours in ds1 before deciding that I didn't like it. I am just really torn between buying Ds3 or not.
ye get it, its very close to elden rings fast paced combat
@@dorianpompa8409 Nevermind I like ds1 now
EMBER ISN’T DEAD LETS GOOOOO
LETS GOOOOO
nahhhh no way blue smelter demon above Laurence lmao. Laurence has so many new moves, blue smelter demon is basically just a recolour. It's a good fight but Laurence takes the cake by a long shot
The first two entries are meant to be tackled with summons. Especially lud and zalon
That doesn't make them any better
Summons make the gank squad 10x worse
elden dlc had finally came out and we are still waiting for u
I think Manus is my fave dlc boss tbh, it's just such a cool fight
The first time i ever fought Midir it took me like 5 hours to beat him. Then i came back on NG+ and beat him on my second or third try. Once you know his moves it really is easy so i actually like where hes placed
Are the outro complainers in the room with us right now?
When are we getting a King's field 2 tier list?
Bro casually put Ludwig outside of top 10 💀
Midir behind fume knight and sister friede is blasphemy. He’s such a good boss definitely my favourite in the series
Not sure if there is a Vaati video that says otherwise , but Ariandel is not actually Friede's father.
Ok but the living failures ost tho
