Indian parents don't like gym at all, they don't even allow their child to take perfect nutrient diet, they be like - "roti chaval khaa sab body ban jaigi, gym se kuch nii hota". 😒

Sir heart health is one of the most misunderstood ailment affecting the mankind. It has a muliti dimensional aspect but is brought down to one single factor depending on what the current scenario is. I remember a newspaper article blatantly saying that Desi Ghee is a major Contributor to heart attacks, ignoring a lot of other variables that impact the health !!
I would like to share another thing that I have seen in my city which I think is one of the many issues which is leading to health hazards. There are many untrained, nonprofessional trainers without any clearance certificate in many gyms, in cities as well, where they don't have a basic understanding of how a workout should be progressing for a particular person, starting from his beginner days to experienced level. They make them do cardiovascular training (cycling, running, HIIT, Tabata, Zumba, etc) in a very extreme order from 1st week only when their body is not prepared for that intensity and HR. Then they compare them with professional athletes for motivation who has been training for years. This also leads to sudden attacks which go unnoticed because we are normal people, we don't get headlines. If a thorough survey is done, there will be a shocking number of cases of heart attacks just due to overtraining by ignorant trainers and coaches.

When an individual has pre-existing atherosclerotic plaque in the coronary circulation of myocardium and if that person does more than normal physical activity or strenuous exercise, then he/she can experience angina, myocardial infarction or cardiac arrest in worst case. ☝️☝️☝️☝️*Here pre-existing atherosclerotic plaque in coronary circulation is very important to note. Also there can be various congenital malformations in the heart which can predispose to sudden cardiac death if the individual does strenuous exercise. Also to keep in mind are other major risk factors highlighted in the Framingham Heart Study. So, always get a baseline ecg, blood workup and chest x-ray done before starting any gym training.

I would like to add few lines although there is no evidence to suggest strenuous exercise leads to heart attack but very rarely in genetically predisposed individuals who have a condition like hypertrophic obstructive Cardiomyopathy can develope heart attack and sudden death while exercising. Besides unregulated use of steroids and excess use of caffenine containing pre workout can also increase the risk of heart attack. Otherwise exercises whether weight training or cardio r preventive in heart disease
Ur blessed u have such a great motivating father, my father has accused me of doing anabolic steroids. Where as I have never smoked, nor I take any supplements. I asked why he thinks like that, he said u have become too agreesive and angry, to which I replied I show my anger on foolish decisions being taken in family not bcoz I am going to gym.
So happy that my dad is in the Army he always encourages me to eat healthily, and work out by running or going to the gym !!
