Mesmerising. I would love to have such a steady hand. I used to be able to draw, and write, but at the moment I am resting, and doing other projects, but grateful for any opportunity to learn, improve myself. Thank you Madam, you are a master of this skill.
Lady this is the first time I've seen any one write so beautifully and perfect that I really enjoyed watching you do it. Thank you for that nice video and the time to actually explaining how it is done. I thought it was done by a machine of some sort and only to find out it is done by the expert hands of a nice lady like yourself. Greatly appreciated.
I love to watch you write in real time and this fast motion takes away from "my" learning of the script from a pro. lol I enjoy you! Thanks for all that you give.
Glad you like it, but 1st this is no gift is skill gained with lots of practice and second is not really cool you download them to watch them... They are uploaded here to be watched here, not to be downloaded...
It is so relaxing to watch you work. It reminds me of how beautiful the alphabet is and how we have lost the art of good writing. Way back in the day, I had much better handwriting; that's because we were graded on Penmanship (Not PC any longer, I'm afraid). I would like to learn to better my handwriting and could use some professional instruction. Do you teach? Is there an online course you could recommend? Videos?
Hi Suzanne, there is a laser mat you can give a try... it is from We R Memory Keepers and it is called Laser Square and Mat. You can find this at Michael's
Do you find that the bleed proof is very easily smudged with a damp finger? I always worry that if it snows or rains when the envelopes are being delivered that the post man will smudge the address. This makes me hesitant to use Bleedproof on outer envelopes, although I love it on other projects and would prefer it over waterproof inks.. I just purchased and received my Fine Tec palette and man, it's beautiful!! Arabic gold was an immediate favorite for me as well. So bright and looks beautiful on lots of darker colors. Great video, thank you for sharing your process!!
So beautiful. I'm just starting with dip pens. One of the problems I seem to have is that my ink gets blobby as I first start to write. You seem to effortlessly have the same ink consistency between all of your letters from when you first dip to when you need to dip again. Your thin lines are really thin, unlike mine, which can be thicker than I like. I'm using an oblique pen, with India ink and a Brause 66 EF nib. Any tips would be appreaciated. Thanks for sharing your work!!!
3 years too late - but in case anyone watching one day wonders the same thing ... I would suggest first preparing the nib. When you buy a new nib, the manufacturer will coat it in a oil film to protect it from rust etc. ink hates this oil. So, you need to remove it from the nib. I use the potato method. Simply get a small potato and stick the nib carefully into it and leave it for a little while (you can repeat the process as much as you need) wipe the potato juice off and make sure the nib is dry. When you fill the nib with ink you will notice the difference instantly. The ink will fill the well evenly and this helps with writing - because the ink is not conflicting with the oiled surface. You can also remove the oil with toothpaste or flame (but be careful not to damage the nib with too much heat). Next tip, you just need to practice thin and thick strokes using pressure when you write. Hairline strokes only need the slightest/no pressure - you want to almost glide your hand lightly across the paper with the nib. For thicker lines, you increase the pressure on the nib (usually on downstrokes). It just takes a bit of practice. Final tip - try different papers and inks - every ink and every paper type may respond better or worse for your particular needs. For copperplate/pointed pen work I would recommend more watery ink or ink that you can thicken/water down. Pointed pen works best on smooth paper - textured cards and papers look pretty, but if you are not experienced you will find the nib will skip or scratch on the surface. Start off with a nice smooth paper - thick enough to take the ink, otherwise you will encounter 'bleeding'. Hope this helps other beginners one day :D
Amazing that her Nib doesn't "catch" & spray ink! The tension kept building each time she started & I heard the Scratch. I guess that's why she's a Professional and I'm .... just having fun! ;)
hi Suzanne, lovely work, just wondering about that laser liner you have....what is that/ where can we buy this from? I'm in Australia and sometimes it's very hard to get supplies that are available overseas- many thanks - Desley x
Beautiful! I always wanted to try this since I was a little girl but good thing I never really did because that sound of the metal on the paper would drive me nuts
It's oblique pen holder with a pointed nib and I believe it's harder to use because you have to dip it in the ink and nibs are different from the ones on Fountain pens.
Do you have any issues with the post office slapping a bar code on the envelope? Working in a print shop, we were cautious about following post office specifications when setting up envelopes for the press.
Such a wonderful tutorial for Bleed Proof White! Ms. Suzanne's stunning flourished copperplate script is truly the icing-on-the-cake (no pun intended). One question, if I might, the caption states that the nib is a Blue Pumpkin, yet per the video it appears to be a G-nib (Nikko?, Zebra?). May I please confirm which nib is being used? Thank you!
Thanks for the great video. Pardon me, Mrs. Cunningham; what is the first nibholder?? It looks special, is it custom made? Looks fantastic. Thanks, again. - Hans
Hey Hans! All of Suzanne's Oblique pen holders are custom made, but I can't tell you from which seller it is... It's best if you ask her your self on her Instagram! Thank you for watching :)
But... can post office computers actually read calligraphy??? I'd never dare addressing letters like that cause I'd be scared they can't be computed and won't arrive
If this envelope arrived at my house I would feel like I committed a sin for throwing it away. Beautiful!
Very nice

🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️Question!? Do you have to put a postage stamp on something so beautiful?

Do you know the correct line height from years of experience, or are there special pencil lines that we don't see? I have trouble with consistency

What if Inpractice copperplate calligraphy and I have a Ink that is drying on my nib and when I even wash it it isnt removing :(
Hi! Can you tell me where can I get the penholder that you have on the video? It's amazing!
😱❤️
Does the pen Suzanne used is harder to use than a normal fountain pen or it is the same??
It's oblique pen holder with a pointed nib and I believe it's harder to use because you have to dip it in the ink and nibs are different from the ones on Fountain pens.
WoW laser guided calligraphy :-) I want one too
Well you should get one ;)
yes i can and i did : -) bought a bosch pll 1

Beautiful no doubt, but the demo was frustratingly fast. How does one follow at this speed?
I'll never understand how she doesn't use guidelines, I can't write straight with 4 lines helping me 😂

Viết lên giấy có độ nhám quá cao có thể gây ra hiện tượng gãy ngòi!
