- In this video I show you how the app works (including screens) with the Spark amp from Positive Grid. We look at the app's features using an iPhone including the Amps, Tones, Jamming Sessions and more.
One of the most requested videos in recent weeks has been for me to do a quick overview of the SPARK application, the iPhone and Android based software that accompanies the Spark amp. I finally get round to that topic in this video.
With the application installed on my iPhone 8, I connect the Spark Application up to the amp and then take a look through the main menu and then into what makes this system special. We look at the tones and how easy it is to configure your own amps and pedals, how the jam along feature works and also how you can use the system to analyse your favourite songs and then play along to them with the chord diagrams.
I don't get into showing off the tones and playing some amazing covers, we just take a look around how the application hangs together and what it has to offer.

@@SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney I was stunned, it was delivered within 5 days, the free carrying bag in the same box, with quite a good strap, a british style power unit, so no buzzing and I connected it up and got it working within minutes. My only bug is that I find it heavy on the bass... but that is a good thing in a way as I've just treated myself to a bass guitar so it doubles up as a bass amp! I think I will be one of the people that take 'years' to learn 'Until We Say Goodbye' Haha! But it's enjoyable learning it and I can tell by your finguring that you have had one to one lessons... I hope to get some myself when all this 'pandamonium' is sorted.. Keep up the good work. Cheers

Thanks for putting the video together. When playing along to songs using the auto chord function, is the original guitar sound somehow removed from the mix or do you just play over the top of it?
I just play over it, or I find a video online which is just the backing track. I did this for a Joe Satriani song recently. I play along with Joe using one video and there is another online which is just the backing parts, so I can solo over the top and dream that I'm Joe (goodness, did I just say that out loud 😂). Yup dream on, Sypher!!!1
I can't find a video anywhere that explains what the Spark can do WITH IOS (iPad/iPhone) device that it CANNOT DO on my PC notebook or Android Phone...
I guess that most people are using one or other, i.e. their favourite device. Personally, I am only using the iPhone and have not even tried connecting the Spark to my laptop. That said, I am using my Mustang Micro mostly now and can't recall the last time the Spark came out to play :(

Do you know how to download and connect the spark amp app using a laptop computer??
Short answer is not at this time. It is something that I wanted to try because that would give me a bigger screen than my iPhone but I have not cracked it yet. I did Google around but did not find anyone who has done it yet. I’ll post a video if and when I work this one out.

Other than accessing a multitude of songs what other benefits are their from using iTunes & Spotify with the amp?
I use neither and always felt UA-cam has what I want as in songs to play & listen to. What am I missing out on in relation to the amp?
To be honest, probably nothing. I only use Spotify because I have an account and then I have only used if within the context of this video.

All of you show the spark app,, and all these wonderful things,, but,, you can't get to this without registering the product,, and you can't register the product without the "SERIAL NUMBER"!!! There isn't one on the amp,, no where on the amp does it say "SERIAL NUMBER"!! IT'S REALLY FRUSTRATING,, BEEN ALL DAY WITH THIS,, I tried several numbers from back of amp,, none worked,,
I don't recall needing a serial number but maybe something has changed since the pre-release models. I am at work not, but I'll have to check later. I 'thought' that the software (app) 'found' the serial number when it connected via Bluetooth. It is a while since I did this though.
22 amplifiers but they're numbered up to 30. Lol 😆
Just say no to Apple products.
